The main stem of the bunch represents the trachea, the large branching stems acts
as the bronchi, all the little stems are the bronchioles and the individual fruits
are the alveoli or air sacs.
• How will you describe the pathway of oxygen in the breathing system?
Oxygen, as it enters our body, moves to a series of parts in the breathing system
that are connected to each other. It enters through the nose or mouth and then through
the trachea which separates into two branches called the bronchi. The bronchi
subdivide many times inside the lungs finally leading to the bronchioles and then into
smaller tubes called alveoli or air sacs where exchange of gases happen.
• What will happen if one part of the system fails to carry out is function
properly?
All parts in the breathing system needs to work as one, they should have teamwork
to continue their work and their function. If one part of the system fails to carry out its
function properly, the air we breathe cannot go to the lungs the transferring of oxygen in
the blood will be affected. If this happens, a person will most likely have a difficulty in
breathing which may lead to other complications or even death.
