CIP has implemented GRIN-Global to manage its large potato and sweetpotato genebank. It has migrated passport and characterization data for over 50,000 accessions. The new system provides public search access and supports internal distribution management. CIP developers created custom wizards and tools to improve usability and enable tasks like batch updates. Remaining challenges include improving documentation, supporting mobile access, and continuing data curation during the migration process.

• After pilot was evident to improve Curator Tool usability to facilitate
user daily tasks then was developed a set of Wizards
• GG platform not support not support mobile apps and Wizards
.NET version
• On-line germplasm request was improved to satisfy needs of
internal and external users
• Poor documentation for developers but GG platform has a
framework for developers to extend facilities developing Wizards,
Forms, Reports and Triggers
• Migrate to GG is a process of changing data management culture
when using and sharing, adaptation to a new interface
• When migrate inventories also will migrate barcodes and
opportunity to improve the encoded data
• During the migration process is needed data curation
• GG framework for developers needs and automatic way to update
new versions of Wizards in client PC’s
