Work
experience
Maintenance: WalzCraft
La Crosse, WI 54603-2349
Start Date: July 1, 2013. End Date: May 14, 2015.
I have been very fortunate to work as a Maintenance Technician at WalzCraft
because I have had one of the very best Supervisors that I have ever worked with in
all of my years of employment. Nermin Tahic is without a doubt one of the best
hands on educators that I have had the pleasure to have known. Nermin promoted
as much independence as he could when it comes to his crew responding to a
problem in the factory, and he expected us to troubleshoot the problem and solve
the issue causing the problem as quickly as we could to eliminate the costly effects
of unscheduled downtime. Nermin was always happy to help us as needed but he
was more apt to give us clues rather than just giving the correct answer so in the
end his leadership style promoted the best learning experience possible. If I have
any criticism for Nermin it is that he did not see the value in having us understand
how the machines were supposed to work when they were in perfect condition and
he resisted allowing us time to study the complex machine components that we
serviced. I feel that having this knowledge would have reduced the down time by
speeding up the response time when troubleshooting the machines during a repair.
My maintenance experiences at WalzCraft have covered virtually every possible
aspect of repair that could be encountered. I worked with electrical, water,
hydraulic, compressed air, vacuum pumps, rooftop heaters, humidification systems
& air conditioners just to name a few things. WalzCraft rarely brings in outside
contract labor to perform maintenance so we really did fix anything and everything
owned by the company.

Skills &
Training
I have had many opportunities for additional training while working in both Adult
Foster Care and Industry and I have also continued to support my passion for
learning at home by using the Internet for the instant answer to my every question
as well.
A few items of special training would include Lock Out Tag Out, First Aid & CPR,
Blood Borne Pathogens, Medication Administration and I have had Right to Know
training through several Employers and I understand and can use the information
provided in the MSDS Sheets that are provided by the various product
manufacturers.
I have developed many computer skills that include most recently PLC Programming
through the use of RSLogix Micro Starter Lite software. I also have Auto Cad and
while I must admit that it has been some time since I have had the opportunity to
do any drawing I would have to say that I have good entry level skills at using that
software. I am quite experienced in using Microsoft Office as well as many other
software and computer tools and I am capable of learning the use of new programs
and equipment very quickly.
