2. Family owned, Goss & Balfe was founded by two young aspiring
entrepreneurs in October 1974 and has experienced continued
growth ever since. With an engineering focus, we specialize on
the upgrading and maintenance of plant and equipment,
installation of new equipment, materials handling within the
Chemical, Petrochemical and Mining Industries.
Since inception Goss & Balfe has earned a reputation for their
high standards of quality workmanship accompanied by the
management skills necessary to sustain and develop those

5. ONGOING PROJECTS
We are constantly engaged in multiple contracts,
including major contracts at the SAPREF Refinery,
plan, prep and execution of various shutdowns and we
have recently completed upgrades for Transnet. We
have successfully completed and are currently working
on Petro Chemical projects in Mozambique.
Goss & Balfe are accepted as a preferred vendor for
Bateman, Fluor S.A, Foster Wheeler, Sasol, Bosch
Projects, and Kantey & Templar. We have completed
multi-million Rand projects over the years for these
managing contractors. The completion of the
Uranium One Project for Bateman Engineering
identified Goss & Balfe as a Quality orientated
company capable of producing quality work on time.

 Recruiting labour that have sufficient work experience in the Petro-
chemical environment and are aware of all hazards pertaining to the client’s
project.
 Recruiting an artisan workforce that are suitably qualified and competent to
perform the tasks that are required of them.
 Planning the job execution to precise detail as to minimise the workforce
numbers, therefore not overcrowding the work areas.

Goss & Balfe workshop facility in Springfield Park
with a fully equipped 4000m2 under cover fabrication
facility is used for project specific requirements and is
complete with two overhead gantry cranes with
15Ton capacity.
Including an additional 6000m2 open lay down area.

• Raw pipe lay-down yard with mobile crane
