Starting Google Plus Hangouts
One of the most interesting aspects of Google Plus is the
Hangout feature. The concept behind Hangouts is
basically a virtual chat room where you can video chat
with people in your Circles. However, Google has added a
few more features to make Hangouts more than just
video chatting.
Instead of directly adding one of your connections to join you in a video chat, you instead click
"Start A Hangout" on the right side of your stream page and a message will go out to your Circles
letting them know that you are interested in "hanging out." Once people begin to join your
Hangout, the main video window will switch back and forth between who is talking, moving
faster between bigger groups.
Hangouts also allow you to watch YouTube videos collaboratively between the people who are in
the group and text chat alongside the video windows.
