Analysis Of The Speaker By The Catholic Archbishop
The author successfully addresses all points of the SOAPS in his first paragraph. The speaker the
Catholic Archbishop addresses his Congregation on the ideas of Islamic sympathy which is
completely unrealistic to a Catholic s belief. The congregation is the audience of the paper and the
subject is on the faith of Islamand how it compares to the Christian faith. It s somewhat
blasphemous though which is the point of the understatements and faux statements the Archbishop
makes. The blasphemy of the passage starts when the Archbishop compares the Koran to the Bible.
To any person, they would know that many different people wrote the Bible but only one person
wrote the Koran. Comparing these two is unreasonable because they are written on

My Favorite Teacher In High School
Third Grade. Most people remember learning multiplication, getting more homework, and a very
slight increase in responsibility. What s my most vivid memory? The time my teacher was
rushed to the hospital during the school day. My homeroom teacher, Mrs. Hauge is still one of
the nicest teachers I ve had today. She taught the cluster classroom, which is when all the kids
the school considers Gifted Learners are all put in one class rather than being split up so that
they can more easily be taught what they need. She was always nice, and not very strict.
Basically, she was my favorite teacher all through elementary school. While her trip to the
hospital was a traumatic experience for the whole class, it really shaped me as an individual.
Mrs. Hauge is an older teacher. She wears glasses attached to a beaded necklace, and her faded
blond hair was cut in a short bob. Every year on the day before winter break, without fail she
would go to the front of the third grade hallway with reindeer ears and bells, and sing holiday
songs like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bells. Every year after I was in her class,
I returned to the third grade wing on that day to sing songs with her in the morning before school
starts, as did a lot of her other past students. One day in November, I had an exciting day. And not
in a good way. The day started as normal; we had morning meeting, did our grammar exercises,
and filed out of the classroom to go to music. However, when we were

Similarities Between Hercules And The Myth Of Hercules
Authors, poets, and film directors have all used ancient stories to create new pieces of literature
and film works for modern times. The animated Disney film Hercules (1997) and the myth of
Hercules share the background of audience driven narratives; however, Disney s aspiration to fill
the theaters and earn money results in an unblemished narrative, while the original myth portrays
an imperfect model to a flawed humanity. Greek mythologyhas been passed on and retold over
generations. Literature and movies have been created to entertain as well as provide specific
themes based off of myths. There are many heroes that mythology talks about and each one has
lived an epic life, but there is one famous hero that has been immortalized throughout history.
Hercules is the son of Zeusand a mortal named Alcmene. Zeus impregnated her while her husband
was away and this is where his story began. Zeus wife, Hera, found out about the affair and was
outrageous about his careless actions. She tried to prevent Hercules birth; however, when that
didn t work she sent snakes to kill the baby. Hercules was too mighty for the snakes and
strangled them before they could even hurt him. As stated in this source, Hera remained angry.
How could she get even? Hera knew that she would lose in a fight, and that she wasn t powerful
enough to prevent Zeus from having his way. Hera decided to pay Zeus back for his infidelity
by making the rest of Hercules life as miserable as she could (Crane WEB). Hercules grew up to
be a great young warrior and was all around. With this god like strength, also came an
uncontrollable temper that made him react at times without thinking, but later made him realize
the wrongdoings of his violence. He later then married a woman named Megara and had two
beautiful children. But one day, Hera instilled a fit of rage into Hercules and made him slaughter
his family with his very own hands. He was shocked by his actions and asked Apollo for
assistance since he was drowning in guilt. Apollo later then gave him specific tasks to help
Hercules redeem himself for the bloodshed he caused. The hero was sent to Eurystheus, and under
his strict hand, he was to accomplish twelve labors over the next twelve years.

Food Structure And The Proper Combination Of Food
In Italy it is known that food structure and the proper combination of food, is how the body
properly digests and becomes healthy. Italians see food as, the key to health as well as
sustenance and pleasure (200). When different foods are combined, the dished have to be served
in a distinct order. This order is said to be as old as ancient Rome. The template is as follows
antipasti, il primo, il secondo, dolce. This sequence is organized in a way to stimulate digestion
and balance the qualities of the prior dishes.
Antipasto is the first plate of food, but has several different types of nourishment, which announces
the taste of the rest of the meal. It is an appetizer with a lot of different flavors, and there can be
one to several dishes at a typical meal. Il Primo is the first main plate and is rice, pasta, or soup.
Rice and pasta do not generally go together in a traditional meal. Meat or cheese could be in this
dish, but only has part of a sauce or a pasta stuffing. Il Primo extends themes that are set by the
antipasti, or the appetizer, by combining several different types of pastas with hundreds of
different sauces. Sauces are typically based on garlic, basil, and tomatoes. There are several
combinations to make a sauce, or a lighter sauce. So, Il Primo is a pretty simple dish with modest
ingredients, but offers a ton of flavor, texture, and color in sauces and their combination with pasta
or rice. Il Secondo is the second plate and consist of meat or fish and

The Murder And Robbery Of A Teenage Girl By Six African...
On June 15th, 1920, three innocent men were beaten and lynched in Duluth, Minnesota. The
alleged rape and robbery of a teenage girl by six African American men, led a mob of protesters to
kidnap three of the men and punish them without trial . Durring this time, racial tensions were at
an all time high in Duluth . The Duluth lynchings were met with different reactions, and in many
ways it sparked a change in the United States. Events such as this one often go unremembered due
to their troubling nature, but these events are educational and necessary to learn while
investigating Minnesota history. The background, legal action, and after math of it all show how
Minnesota, and the country as a whole reacted to this event . While some Local Duluth newspaper
responded in favor of the mob, the majority of National newspapers condemned the mob for their
heinous crimes. Opposite reactions from multiple news reports shows how divided our country
was about civil rights at the time, and how controversial the topic was . A call to action was
needed. The Duluth lychings affected the nation by showing how controversial civil rights was at
this time, and influencing the creation of new programs and laws to protect the rights of African
Americans in our country. The 1920 s presented many hardships for the small black community the
resided in Duluth. Racial tensions in the city, as well as all over the country, were high during this
period . Duluth s population grew due to the harbor and

The Social Media And Digital Media
The template/sample can be found in the appendix, as well as all the results summarized by
Google Form. 20 people took the survey in a lapse time of 5 days between October 12 and
October 17. The survey suggested that half of the surveyed had a Bachelor s degree and 75% of
them are single, never married. Most of them (65%) had between 18 and 24 year old and took
the survey via social media. The other category mostly represented (20%) was between 45 and 54
year old and took the survey sent my email. Knowing that most of the person who answered the
survey was in the young generation I will focus my analysis on them. It is interesting to get to
know more about their own perception of media. They haven t lived the transition between
traditional media and digital media like the other older generation did. They have an all new look
on media but still do not trust them. Only 25% of the surveyed answer social media to the question
Please choose a media outlet you think is the most trustworthy В». The Generation Y should trusts
the tools they use the most but surprisingly, for them the trustworthiest outlets were Newspaperand
radio with 30%. People mostly trust radio and newspaper but still, 55% of them choose social
media to access current news on the daily basis. The question here is; why do people go on media
they don t trust?
More the surveyed answered questions, more it was obvious that the majority was relying on social
media and new outlet to get updates on the latest news.

Essay about The Lincoln Assassination
John Wilkes Booth, born May 10, 1838, was an actor who performed throughout the country in
many plays. He was the lead in some of William Shakespeare s most famous works. Additionally,
he was a racist and Southern sympathizer during the Civil War. He hated Abraham Lincoln who
represented everything Booth was against. Booth blamed Lincoln for all the South s ills. He
wanted revenge. In late summer of 1864 Booth began developing plans to kidnap Lincoln, take
him to Richmond (the Confederate capital), and hold him in return for Confederate prisoners of
war. By January, 1865, Booth had organized a group of co conspirators that included Samuel
Arnold, Michael O Laughlen, John Surratt, Lewis Powell (also called Lewis Paine or Payne),

He held one final meeting with his co conspirators. He said he would kill Lincoln at the theatre
(he had since learned that Grant had left town). Atzerodt was to kill Vice President Andrew
Johnson at the Kirkwood House where Johnson resided. Powell was assigned to kill Secretary of
State William Seward. Herold would accompany Powell. All attacks were to take place
simultaneously at approximately 10:15 P.M. that night. Booth hoped the resulting chaos and
weakness in the government would lead to a comeback for the South. The Presidential party
arrived at Ford s at about 8:30 P.M. Armed with a single shot derringer and a hunting knife,
Booth arrived at Ford s at about 9:30 P.M. Joseph Burroughs, a boy who worked at the theatre,
held his horse in the rear alley. Booth went next door to a saloon for a drink. He entered the front
of Ford s Theatre around 10:07 P.M. Slowly he made his way toward the State Box where the
Lincolns were sitting with Clara Harris and Henry Rathbone. Lincoln s bodyguard, John Parker of
the Metropolitan Police Force, had left his post. At about 10:15 P.M. Booth opened the door to the
State Box, shot Lincoln in the back of the head at near point blank range, and struggled with
Rathbone. Booth stabbed Rathbone in the arm and jumped approximately 11 feet to the stage
below. When he hit the floor he

The Causes Of Maternal Mortality And Morbidity
It is estimated that 529, 000 maternal deaths occur globally every year in developing countries.
The probability that a woman will die during pregnancy is 400 per 100,000 live births. The risk is
higher in sub Saharan Africa with 1,000 per 100,000 live births. The death of a woman during
pregnancy, childbirth, or the postpartum period, is known as maternal mortality, occurs in 99% of
all developing countries (WHO, 2015).
According to the World Health Organization, the causes of maternal mortality and morbidity in Sub
Saharan Africa are mainly results of a defective health system when it comes to dealing with
complications during and after birth. The complications that contribute greatly to maternal
mortality include hemorrhage, infection, high blood pressure, unsafe abortions, and obstructed
labor. These complications are the leading causes of death among women aged 15 to 49 in
developing countries.
Kenya is a country that has been making a lot of progress in approaching some of the Millennium
Development Goals (MDG) and certain health indicators. However, reducing maternal mortality
still remains a challenge in this nation. The reason behind this slow progression results from the
interaction of social, cultural, economic and logistical barriers, combined with a high fertility rate
(World Bank), and inadequate and under funded health services (WHO). Strengthening the health
system and improving quality of healthcare delivery can overcome these challenges.

The Creation Of Telomerase
The cell is busier than the streets of New York, and when it splits, it must have everything go
perfectly. If the chromosomes were to break down, the DNA it is holding could be damaged.
That could be catastrophic for the cell. This is where telomere comes in. Telomere is a small area
of nucleotides that repeat at the end of every chromosome to keep the chromosome from falling
apart and breaking down. But, the telomere doesn t just appear out of nowhere. It is created just
like everything else, with DNA. Nobel Prize winner cellbiologist Carol W. Greider discovered the
enzyme telomerase. Telomerase is what creates the DNA found in telomere.
In 1961, the nobel prize winner Carol W. Greider was born in San Diego, California. Her father,

outbursts after the intervention was incorporated. The incorporation of the ABAB design has
proven to be effective in this study and will allow Jim to incorporate the utilization of
appropriate behavior in future classes. Keywords: single subject research design, unwanted
behavior, reinforcer, oppositional defiance disorder IntroductionIt is a known fact that teachers
have the challenging task of providing effective and explicit instruction but these goals can be
complicated by the learner. As a result schools have incorporated programs that are specifically
developed to ensure the success of each child individually. There are many different
interventions that can be incorporated to change disruptive behavior that is being displayed in
the classroom setting. The hypothesis is that disruptive behavior will significantly decrease once
the intervention is incorporated and the appropriate behavior will drastically increase. The
importance of gathering this data is so that teachers will be able to take back total control of
their classrooms as well as taking control of disruptive behavior. In this study we will discuss
whether the incorporation of A B A B withdrawal design increases or decreases disruptive
behavior displayed by an 8 year old participant with Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) during

The Vicious Cycle Of Student Loans

The Vicious Cycle of Student Loans
Student loans are one of the top three national debts in the United States. Total student loans have
reached an outstanding of one trillion dollars and are still on going. It would take the United States
hundred fifty years, twenty million dollars a day to fully cover this national debt. Student loans are
intended for students to go to college but they come with a rising social and economic cost. As the
expectancy of high return and tuition are increasing, more students are ending up with a mountain
of debt and without a degree. It is risking our countries future; we will face another recession if the
trend of student loans continues to grow exponentially. We will have a future of Millienials who
are in debt and unable to invest their money into the economy. In order to have a stable and
working economy, we need people to spend money. Young adults are the masters of spending
money and have a huge contribution in stabilizing our economy. If young adults are spending their
money in paying off their debts, there will be definite consequences. So people might ask, what
aspects of the economy are being affected due to rising student debt? Despite the social cost that
student loans promote, through in depth research and analysis, I have concluded that our economic
cost will evolve around the housing market, small businesses, and students career choices. These
are extremely valuable industries that

Hypothesis testing is the process in which an analyst may test a statistical hypothesis. The
methodology used by the analyst is based on the nature of the data used and the main goals of the
analysis. The main goal in this is to either reject or accept the null hypothesis. Through testing,
results will show that someone who may prove one answer, may not mean that answer is
actually correct, for there may be many factors that may change the outcome. For this reason is
why researchers the five or one percent probability rates. In this null hypothesis it will prove that
there is no difference between these variables. With the single variables it is also proven that
there is no difference from zero. Statistical evidence will later prove that if it is indeed proven to
be fact or nullified based on the evidence gathered. A null hypothesis is a process in which
research may try to disprove, reject or nullify the proposed hypothesis. In a study, the researcher
may use the hypothesis based on a specific testable prediction; this is based on a dependent and
independent variable in a study. In result, the hypothesis researched will match what the analyst is
trying to prove to be true in the problem. The first step one must take when testing a hypothesis is
restating the question experience analyzed into an alternative hypothesis and null hypothesis. The
following scenario is as follows: Do

Rape Fantasies By Margaret Atbeck Summary
Sterilized Intrusion: Misinterpretation of the Human Feedback During the short story presented by
Mary Gaitskill and her famous work, The Other Place (2011), there in the text, is provided
displacement of what is a defection from normalization. The narrator presents himself as an apple
tree in that his son, Douglas, demonstrates a similar affection for the destruction of human
persistence to survive. In disturbance of collective headway, Margaret Atwood s RapeFantasies
(1977), expresses a group of individuals whom take about a magazine as a conversational
masterpiece through discussion of tolerable rape. Beings residing within society who take at their
own preference to go to undesirable conditions to meet undesirable shadows of morally baseless
beings. In such aspects, these stories offer a defection from their family and friends through
enjoyment of viewing individual demise and request to be raped and violence enjoyment.
Therefore, it is in these shortcomings that resolve is compiled through carefully constructed
analysis of the situation for abandonment of morality; providing guidelines for conduct in
municipal activities with removal of self endangerment at the basis of discussion.
The problem lies within the mist of miscommunication from other resources. The inaction of these
events whether it be wanted rape or entertaining harm with action are the foundation to a more
formidable conclusion. Recognition of these occurring events such as conversation with lead in

Social Media Has Changed The Expectations Of Social...
Today, the average person spends at least two hours a day on social media sites. Through social
media, texting, and online chatrooms, people can communicate with others that they would
otherwise have no contact with. For this topic, it is important to define what friendship really
means. Some have argued that a friend is someone they talk with; others say it s someone they ve
shared an experience with. For this essay, friendshipwill be defined as someone who is kept in
constant contact with through and outside of the internet. The majority of effects seen from
technology are negative: from decreased in person social interactions, to loss of identity, and
ultimately the watering down of friendships. Social media has changed the expectations of social
relationships. While technology does allow users to stay connected with family and friends from
varying distances, technology s negative effects also make it harder to maintain those relationships
and have a lasting impact on how people will pursue their future relationships.
With the rise of social media and other forms of online communication, people have the opportunity
to connect with old and new friends alike. However, this connection through technology has
changed how people view friendship. In his article Faux Friendships, William Deresiewicz
discusses how much the ideas of friendship have changed over time. He argues that ...friendship,

The Fall Of Feudalism And The Rise Of Capitalism
The fall of feudalism in the 12th century eventually led to the rise of capitalism. To get there, the
first thing needed was a change in thinking. This began with the scientific revolution, and led to the
Enlightenment in the 18th century. The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was
highlighted by individualism, reason, and skepticism. Skepticism caused people to denounce divine
right of kings, thus moving from monarchies to democracies. This desire for knowledge coupled
with the scientific revolution resulted in new manufacturing inventions that made the production
process more efficient and advanced society, this is referred to as the industrial revolution. These

The means of production are everything needed for manufacturing. This includes the factories,
the labor force, and the raw materials. Marx also uses the term social relations of production,
which is the social relationships people enter by being a part of the means of production. The
mode of production ¬¬is the combination of social class and the social relations of production
of that period in time. These both establish life in general: the political and social institutions,
culture, and ideologies. Marx believed that you are born into societies where the social relations
of production are already predetermined. This means as a result, things like a person s knowledge,
ideologies, and beliefs are determined by their place in class. There are also other features of
society that are an outcome of the social relations of productions. Things like products and
institutions come out the need for them. Educational institutions come from the need for a higher
educated population. Products come from the need of a product to solve a certain problem.
It is no secret that Marx and Engels believed capitalism was detrimental for society. They
believed capitalism caused alienation feeling of being separated from the world and society you
live in in its workers. Marx distinguished four types of alienation: (1) alienation of the worker from
the product of his work, (2) alienation of the

Ed Zwick’s Glory
Ed Zwick s Glory An Exemplary Model for Historical Films
History, I am convinced, is not just something to be left to the historians. Warren Susman
[1] From a critic s point of view, what is there not to scrutinize when a white, Jewish filmmaker is
responsible for a historical film about African Americans during the Civil War? One which
happens to have a brave young Boston Brahmin as the supposed leader of a colored battalion?
Surely he does not have the license to create a film based on a heritage with which he has no
affinity. Director Ed Zwick was apprehensive with the task and struggled with his entitlement to
create such a film.

The critic does point out that Glory is by no means flawless, citing historical discrepancies;
nevertheless, a sound approval is given.
[3] From a supportive angle, Morgan Freeman, an academy award nominee black actor, fully
backs every aspect of the project. Freeman was not only ecstatic about the idea for the film, but he
also defended Zwick and screenwriter Kevin Jarre from criticisms about the film s alleged
whiteness. In rebuttal to a charge by Roger Ebert that Glory concentrates too much on the white
point of view, Freeman claimed:
I don t have a problem with that. You cannot reasonably ask a white writer to do it differently.
Now, if we re going to start citing some unfortunates, it might be unfortunate that a black writer
didn t write it, but if a black writer had written it, there s a good chance he wouldn t have found a
producer. So there you are. This is a movie that did get made, and a story did get told, and that s
what is important.
Reportedly, Freeman was so adamant about the film s script that he approached Zwick in the
auditioning stages, pleading, Whatever you want, you ve got me. Moreover, he and co star Denzel
Washington (1989, Best Supporting Actor, Glory) took significant pay cuts to make the film a
success for the sake of art and history.

An Aristotelian Tragic Hero Is A Literary Character Who
An Aristotelian tragic hero is a literary character who makes a judgment that ultimately leads to
his or her own destruction. An example of a true Aristotelian tragic hero is Creon from
Sophocles play, Antigone. Creon is the tragic hero because he goes through the five stages of a
tragic hero which lead to his destruction. His tragic flaw is him being afraid to admit that he has
made a mistake. He is too proud of his power and his ability to make laws which leads to his son
and wife committing suicide. In Woman at Point Zero, Cooke s remarks about Firdaus being a

Firdaus s free choice is to earn money and have some power by becoming a prostitute. After
Firdaus overhears Fawzy and Sharifa s conversation, she runs away and decides to become a

The third characteristic of an Aristotelian tragic hero is the hero s downfall, which is their fault and
the result of their free choices. In reality, the tragedy is usually produced by some error in
judgment or their tragic flaw that subsidizes to the hero s lack of perfection. This is also known
as the Hamartia. Firdaus tragic flaw is her not having faith in anyone. Her faith is her tragic flaw
because she is a woman who is always beaten by some male figure in her life; therefore, she
never had to have faith in anyone because she was abused and disappointed by others. When the
police officer grabs Firdaus by that arm and tells her to follow him to his house, Firdaus utters,
No... I have no trust in men any more (El Saadawi 83). This shows that Firdaus doesn t rely on
faith anymore. Also, because of the constant betrayal in her life, Firdaus fears of developing a
close relationship with anyone, including the psychologist that she talks to. Firdaus reveals this as
she struggles to explain the heartache she felt when the one man she loved proved he did not love
her back (Cody). With love I began to imagine that I had become a human being...in love I gave

Artie s father s annoying habits somewhat lead to bad habits in Artie. Artie is a chain smoker. It

scene in the story that truly encouraged Artie s smoking habit was the event when Artie s wife
picked up a black hitchhiker. This very much disturbed Valdek. He viewed all blacks as thieves.
Artie s wife, Francois, barked back exactly what Artie was thinking, that s outrageous! How can
you, of all people, be such a racist! You talk about blacks the way the Nazis talked about the

The Theory Of Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory
Albert Bandura is one of the most influential psychologist in history, best known for his famous
Bobo Doll Experiment. From this experiment, Bandura developed his Social Learning Theory, the
theory that we learn from one another through observation.
To prove his theory, Bandura used children to see if they would imitate a modal who showed
aggressive behavior toward a Bobo doll. The subjects were 36 boys and 36 girls from the Stanford
University s Nursery School aged between 3 and 6 years old. The models were two adults, male
and female. Aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children, non aggressive behavior was shown
to 24 children and 24 children served as the control group. For the first step of the experiment, a
child and a model were brought into a room containing toys. The child was escorted to a corner
that had potato prints and stickers while the model was escorted to a corner that had a tinker toy
set, a mallet and a 5 foot inflated Bobo doll. For subjects that were in the aggressive condition, the
model began aggressing toward the doll after a minute. The model performed distinct aggressive
acts that Bandura was looking for the child to imitate. The model laid the doll on its side, sat on it
and punched it repeatedly in the nose and then raised the doll, picked up the mallet and struck it on
the head. Following the mallet aggression, the model tossed the doll up in the air and kicked it
around the room. These aggressive acts were repeated three times, interspersed

readers. One way that this story can do this is by creating a connection between readers and
troops. This book, brings to life the heroic efforts of American soldiers in Mogadishu s maze of
streets and alleys to survive the attacks of Somalis (Matray). The audience finds themselves
learning of the struggles of soldiers as well as gaining respect for them through this process. In a
similar fashion, Bowden writes this book, giving the happenings of a significant militaristic event,
indirectly teaching history during the process. One author previously stated that, [the Battle of

The Important Role Of Bureaucracy In The United States
I strongly believe that the bureaucracy is the real government. We the people just have a person in
office claiming to get things done. While congress passes laws, it would be somewhat impossible
for congress to make all the decisions that have to be made to translate the laws into action or to
make policies and choose actions on how the laws are to be carried out and enforced. So, then it
looks like bureaucrats run our country. Bureaucrats serve an important role by working with interest
groups to help get legislation presented to congressional subcommittees. Now with bureaucrats they
all come together from different agencies to form governmentpolicies. We Americans still have no

Interest groups give money to congress, who in return pass laws favorable to the interest groups.
Interest groups ae known to have a great influence over the policies that are made in areas that
affect them. They all get what they want at the end of the day. However, the public eye does not
see the amount of money that is being spent supporting certain groups. An example of a huge iron
triangle would be the American Association for Retired People (AARP), the House Subcommittee
on Aging, and the Social Security Administration all working together to set government policy on
Social Security. They have a goal of keeping the elderly all together and looking out for their well

Health Insurance Vs Dental Insurance
Initial 8: How Dental Insurance Is Like (And Not Like) Health Insurance
Insurance can be confusing. It s like it has its own language. Sometimes, you don t know why one
treatment is covered and another is not. That s true for both health and dental insurance. They two
have a lot in common, but they are different. Dr. Miller, your Roseville, CA dentist, wants you to
get the most you can from your dental insurance. That means understanding it.
Why aren t they the same thing?
The reason these two have separate insurance plans goes back to how dentistry was historically
treated. For the last few centuries, dentistry was considered a craft, like woodworking. It wasn t
about saving lives, it was about repairing teeth. That was a separate purpose ... Show more content

Both kinds of plans encourage you to use preventive care. But health insurance is more about
paying for unforeseen problems. Dental insurance is more about regular care and prevention.
With most cases, preventive dental care is free. In most health insurance plans, preventive care
often still costs you. But with most dental plans, preventive care is often free. You have a limit, of
course. You can t get X rays every month. But you can still get routine care like X rays and
cleanings without cost to you.
Health insurance is required under ACA; dental care is not. The Affordable Care Act made health
insurance a requirement. If you do not have any, you have to pay more in taxes. That does not
apply to dental care. If you don t have any, you will not pay any kind of penalty. However, children
are required to have dental insurance.
If you have any questions about your dental insurance, you can always call us at 916 945 9985.
You might have to ask your insurance company as well. We have been working with dental
insurance for many years, however, so that means we can answer a lot of questions.

Why The Church Is A Complex Concept Of Grasp
There are many reasons why the church is one, but to actually be one is a complex concept to
grasp. To be one means to be united, and unity is a powerful bond held together for a common
purpose. For example, through the Trinity, God is one in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Likewise, all the aspects of the church is one just like the relationship of the Trinity. However, the
Trinity is also one of the primary ways the church is united. The Trinity is the leader in making the
church one. As Lumen Gentium claims, the universal church is seen to be a people made one by
the unity of the Father, the Son, and the holy Spirit, (Lumen Gentium, 4). Yet, each part of the
Trinity plays a specific role in the unity. First, God the Father calls us to be a part of His church.
All the just from the time of Adam, from Abel, the just one, to the last of the elect will be gathered
together with the Father in the universal church, (Lumen Gentium, 2). God the Father allows the
entire church to have a relationship with Him, and brings people together through his love. In
addition, The Father sent His Son to bring the kingdom of God to Earth. The Church s foundation
is the Son of God. Lumen Gentium goes on to say, All are called to this union with Christ, who is
the light of the world, from whom we come, through whom we live, and towards whom we direct
our lives, (Lumen Gentium, 3). Therefore as the church, unity is formed by following and devoting
our lives to JesusChrist, and it

School Security Essay
School Security
Seeing students wear uniforms in school may seem either too strict or too traditional, but when
one figures out, and understand, the reason why for this formality, more will see the advantage of
wearing school uniforms. Some may feel that uniforms should not be required in schools because
they think it s a waste of money, students don t want to be told what to wear, or because they don t
want to look the same like everyone else at school. However, uniforms are much less expensive
than the clothing brands that students wear, so parents are saving more money. Students also need
to understand that they can t always get what they want, they need to realize that not everything is
going to be their way. Students don t want to wear the same clothing like others because they want
to stand out, but this can create conflict at school because the students will begin to judge each
other by what they wear, and if everyone wears uniforms we would be avoiding these types of
conflicts.
This uniform policy turned out to be very successful that President Clinton even mentioned it in his
1996 State of the Union address. Statistics showed that there was a major decrease in overall
crimes, suspensions, and offenses which means that wearing uniforms was successful for this
school district. A study in Long Beach was conducted in the 1990s with school uniforms. The Long
Beach district was the first in the nation to require uniforms. 41% of parents and 86% of teachers

No Pain Analysis
A person that doesn t feel pain may sound like something you would read in the comics, but in
real life there are in fact some people who don t feel pain. There are two hereditary reasons for
this condition. First are neuropathies, which is the pain detecting nervous system that doesn t
fully develop. The other is congenital analgesia that starts at birth where the pain detecting
nervous system grows however does not function (The Conversation par. 8). Although many
people would love the idea of being able to feel no pain, there are some rather unpleasant side

People with this condition receive injury without knowing it. They can feel the difference between
what s sharp, dull, hot and chilly. However they can t, for instance, tell that a hot drink is hurting
their tongue (Congenital Insensitivity to Pain pg. 1). A boy named Isaac is one of these few

human s needs instead of the needs of the computer. Ruby is an good object oriented integrated
language where every type of data is known as an object. For the web development handling, Ruby
on Railsweb framework is used. This amazing and different web development framework attains
extra popularity and exposure because of its capability in Rapid Application Development (RAD).

ADVANTAGES OF RUBY ON RAILS
Ruby on Rail is constructed by the language of ruby which is a programming language
dynamically. Thus, the basic advantage of Ruby on Rails comes by the language usage, as ruby
makes it very easy to do Meta programming.
One major advantages of Ruby on Rail is its MVC framework, in which RoR offer sever handling
view layers, the models layers (database communication), as well as the interaction between such
layers with the help of controllers. Different frameworks depend on several developmental efforts to
get this.
One more essential feature is the database tables mapping to the objects of Ruby named as models.
The running database along with the application code, already it contain everything Ruby on Rails
needs to know, that s why there is no need to deal with the inner deep details.
In Ruby on Rails, the striking feature is known as scaffolding. With the Ruby on Rails scaffolding,
automatically, it create the operations of CRUD complete set (i.e., Create, Retrieve, Update, as
well as Delete), along with the database table views. Then, they can modify it according to your

x 8 blocks and 1 valued 8 x 8 blocks. Trimming images help to remove the background frames that
are redundant. Another step in pre processing is to make the image width and height divisible by
8. Let w and h represent the width and height of the image respectively. w and h are converted
into w* and h* such that 8|w* and 8|h* are as follows in (1) and (2): Hence, w* x h* forms the
new dimensions. The problem of determining the waiting probability of observing a particular
number of blocks and the expected number of samples needed may be viewed as an instance of
the Coupon Collector s Problem that is explained in [4] as follows: Let S denote the set of

Table I displays six solid binary images along with their corresponding compression ratios. On
considering Run Length coding, the alternative encoding scheme produces better performance
than the other encoding scheme. On an average, the proposed algorithm performs well on
comparison with the standard Huffman coding algorithm by approximately 1.58%. Table II
shows the percentage of blocks compressed by the codebook dictionary and the percentage of
blocks compressed by RCRC for the corresponding images In accession to the binary images, the
proposed method may be tested on discrete color images also. These type of images consists of four
semantic layers, such as, roads, rivers, lines and lakes. Figure 9 shows the separation of layers of a
map image which is obtained from [5]. In this case, the map image contains four layers as stated
in the above paragraph. Each color is paired with the background color to form a layer of bi level

The Consequences Of Whaling And Its Effects On The...
Whaling is the hunting of whales to obtain meat and blubber. The blubber is brought to a station
off the shore designed to boil the blubber into oil (Hacquebord 2001). All these components of a
whale are useful to humans, but by extracting these whales at such a high rate may have
consequences for the ecosystem they leave behind (Hacquebord 2001;Williams et al. 2004;Baum
and Worm 2009). It is important to question the effects mass exploitation has on the environment
in order to prevent or predict certain unwanted changes for future removal (Williams et al.
2004;Baum and Worm 2009). Whaling has been studied from various time periods and different
places around the world (Hacquebord 2001;Williams et al. 2004;Trites et al. 2007;Baum and Worm
2009).
In 1977 there was an increase in certain species of lions and seals in British Columbia, while in
Alaska there was a decrease of seals and sea lions (Williams et al. 2004;Trites et al. 2007).
Because this happened after commercial whaling, many attribute the decline with cascading top
down effect (Trites et al. 2007). There are many other factors that make an impact and based on
research the removal of the whales did not cause the shift in seals and sea lions (Trites et al.
2007). Most studies are conducted to focus on the predator and a species of prey of a neighboring
trophic layer (Baum and Worm 2009). Another whaleinfluencing this environment is the Killer
whale (Williams et al. 2004). These need an incredibly high calorie diet

Helping The People Who First Learn Educational Psychology...
Theorise are very important to help the people who first learn educational psychology. It could help
learners understand the factors of human development and it could also guide us how to be a great
educator in the future. There are many different developments in educational psychology, such as
cogntive development, social, emotional and moral development. Each development is significant
and we have to go through. In this essay, I am going to introduce two theorists different theories on
cogntive and identity development.
Cognitive development is concerned with our ability to think, to reason, and to understand and
remember the world around us. It involves mental processes that are associated with taking in,
organising and making sense of information processes that include perceiving, attending to,
understanding and recalling information. These mental funstions are part of what is referred to as
cognition(Duchesne McMaugh, 2016). There was a person who made a great contribution to
cognitive development. He was a very famous child psychologist and he was also one of the first
theorists to attempt to comprehensively describe the process of cognitive development of children.
He observed children and questioned them about the way they solved problems. His work changed
the way we think about cognitive development(Duchesne McMaugh, 2016). It was Jean Piaget. He
proposed four stages of cognitive development: the sensorimotor stage, preoperational stage,
concrete operational

Interpreting The Matrix through Descartes’s Philosophy Essay
Many ancient philosophers, including Plato, explored metaphysics in relation to reality before
Descartes s in depth questioning of the subject. However, Descartes s views on mind/body
dualism differ greatly from Plato s. As Marleen Rozemond (author of Descartes s Dualism) points
out, Plato believes that the body is simply a vessel for the soul to use, while Descartes provides
proof that the body and soul are interconnected (172). One does not simply use the other; though
they are separate, the mindaffects the body and the body affects the mind. Cartesian dualism tells
us that although the whole mind seems to be united to the whole body, I recognize that if a foot or
arm or any other part of the body is cut off, nothing has thereby been... Show more content on

Descartes states that:
Once the foundations of a building are undermined, anything built on them collapses of its own
accord; so I will go straight for the basic principles on which all my former beliefs rested.
Whatever I have up till now accepted as most true I have acquired either from the senses or
through the senses. But from time to time I have found that the senses deceive, and it is prudent
never to trust completely those who have deceived us even once. (384)
Through questioning the knowledge he had always believed to be true, Descartes comes to realize
that many of his basic beliefs were founded on sensual knowledge. This leads him to question his
very existence, and eventually to search for unconditional proof of his existence
Christopher Falzon, philosophy lecturer and author of Philosophy Goes to the Movies and
Philosophy and The Matrix, points out that The Matrix employs Cartesian style skepticism in its
attempt to inundate the viewer in this cyber world ( Philosophy and the Matrix 99). This is seen
in Neo s choice between the red pill and blue pill in The Matrix, which can be likened to Descartes
s employment of the acid test. Neo, a computer hacker, is told that a man named Morpheus can tell
him the meaning of the Matrix, a term that Neo has encountered several times. Upon meeting
Morpheus, Neo is given a choice: he can take a blue pill which will make him forget about his
quest to discover the meaning of the Matrix, or he can

each client s chart, as it demonstrates that CUCE is in compliance with laws that protect client s
confidentiality, and the states rules and regulations. Once the initial intake is complete the
session can begin. The next forms to be completed is the intervention session form, this form
gives a summary of what the presenting issues are, proposed intervention and follow up plan.
This form also identifies if the client will be a IDI Single (SS)/ Multiple structure (MS)
intervention session. If the client s case falls under, (MS) there will be more than one session

forms completed from the AIRS system are printed and also placed in the clients file. In addition
to those forms supportive documents are placed in the clients files that coincide with what services

Pt1420 Unit 6 Assignment
Describe what you did.
This week we went a little bit more into the actual process of constructing an inverted index and
how to implement the handling of misspellings, the accuracy of retrievals based on context, and the
structures of resulting indexes for the purpose of searching them. For the discussion assignment, I
needed to cover the differences between BSBI and SPIMI. For our programming assignment, we
needed to make some alterations to a SPIMI python program to create an index and list of
documents.
Describe your reactions to what you did.
I found everything that we covered this week very interesting. While I appreciated the differences
between a BSBI and SPIMI, I m a little confused as to why you would use a BSBI except in
situations where there are some very specific hardware ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am feeling pretty good about the class still. A lot of the techniques we are learning about for
efficient, accurate, and helpful searching of a corpus I find very interesting. I need to take some
more time to review the indexer Python code we were supplied so I feel completely comfortable
with how it is achieving the indexing.
Describe what you learned.
Particularly the handling of misspelled search terms or wildcard items was the thing that I feel like
I really took away from this week. Certainly, the index creation techniques were learned but I think
that to really strongly grasp those I just need to get more hands on experience with their
implementation. The things I learned about for managing search terms I feel like I could, at least
conceptually, immediately apply.
What surprised me or caused me to wonder?
I found the technique of the permuterm indexing especially of note. While it seems like it results in
a massive index it was interesting to think of how that could be applied along with other ideas to
mitigate human imperfections for searches.
What happened that felt particularly challenging? Why was it challenging to

The Song Analysis Of Where Is The Love
The song Where Is The Love by the Black Eyed Peas is a very heartfelt prayer for the healing
and suffering in the world and society that we live in. I feel like the song is about exactly what the
title is asking. Where is the love? Sometimes we have to stop, look around us and think about the
relationships we have with other people. Are our relationships built on foundations of true love,
compassion and kindness? Although the songs was originally released in 2003, most of the
issues the song focuses on are still relevant today, in 2017. Which really makes me wonder, where
IS the love? Surely after 14 years, things would have changed. Hate and war have existed since the
beginning of humanity. Crime is an enormous part of our society, in the past and in the present.
Imagine a worldthat is crime free, the perfect utopia. A world where everyone accepts their
neighbour for the person they truly are, without racism, without judgement, without oppression.
Where is the love? recognizes chaos in a broken world, intoxicated with violence and hate.
The song opens with the lyrics, What s wrong with the world Mama, people livin like they ain t
got no Mama, I think the whole world s addicted to Drama, only attracted to the things that will
bring them trauma For me the lyric about No Mama The people of today s society don t know
how to behave properly. We lack knowledge and understanding of the world. We don t pay
attention to anyone but ourselves. We don t know right from wrong. We are completely
oblivious to what this world is turning into and all we are doing are things that hurt ourselves
and others. This lyric about having No Mama saddens me as there are a lot of people out there
in this world who do not have a mother to guide them on the right path. We need a mother figure
in our life because having a mother teaches us basic life lessons that allow us to survive and be a
good person. Such as to always say please and thank you, respect people, be kind and love your
neighbour. I can not relate to not having a mother figure in my life as I have had the same amazing
mother my whole life. She has taught me from the moment I was born, to treat everyone equally, be
kind, and respect and love everyone. To this

Frodo Baggins Lord Of The Rings Hero s Life Cycle
The life of a hero fits a certain pattern. Different heroes from different mythologies all seem to
follow the same events in their lives. In the film, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,
the life of Frodo Baggins follows this pattern. In the film, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the
Ring Frodo Bagginsparents died when he was at an early age. Ever since he has been living with
his cousin Bilbo Baggins; he goes on a journey to Rivendell with his 3 friends, Sam, Meriadoc and

essential characteristics of a hero s life.

Essay On Marvel Vs Dc
Marvel versus DC is a debate that has been reignited with the launch of multiple movies featuring
heroes from each universe. Each universe has its own heroes and villains. The subject of this
paper is to determine which would be the safer universe. While DC and Marvel both have many
characters, only some of the characters in each universe have god like abilities. Certain characters
from the Marvel and DC universe have the ability to end all life in the solar system, galaxy and
possibly the universe.
Both Marvel and DC have their collection of heroes and villains. The only heroes and villains that
will be compared are ones with near god like abilities. Superman is one of these god like heroes
from the DC universe. He has the ability to fly, super strength, near invincibility, super speed, and
laser vision. Although he was killed in the events of Batman V Superman, he was revived in the
events of Justice League. Superman could destroy tanks, planes and other enemies with relative
ease. His comparative hero from the Marvel universe is Thor. Although Thor cannot fly without his
hammer, he has the ability to call down lightning, super strength and immortality. Thor did lose his

Evaluation Of A Business Training
Consequently, operation expense and overhead expense can be alleviated in companies which used
outside experts services.
3.2. Increment competency in companies Handling a variety of HR activities besides the core
activity by employers would not bring useful consequences for organisations. Thus, by outsourcing,
they can concentrate on their core competence which might be included in the application of
various policies in different businesses. For instance, as stated by Belcourt (2006) designing
products is one of the major activities in NIKE. Contracting out non core HR tasks provides free
time for managers to pay more attention and attempt to the value added activities such as leadership
development, innovation and customer services. Hence, diminution of HR administrative duties
like employees pension, benefits and payroll helps mangers to be strategists to improve companies
competitive advantages.
3.3. Professional expertise
Getting benefits from the experience and skills of outside providers can be the other
externalization s advantages. As HR laws and regulations tend to be complicated in some area,
employers may make a decision to externalize some works to specialized companies which are
updated with changing government regulations and have specific expertise needed in special
fields. For example, in a professional training company because of the availability of expert co
workers, staff would have more opportunity to develop their knowledge and proficiency.

Accounting System And The Roman Empire
Another Society with their own intricate accounting system was the Roman Empire. This comes as
no surprise because of the scope and size of the Roman Empire; accounting was once again a
necessity to a well maintained society. There is evidence of comprehensive financial statements in
the rule of Emperor Augustus circa 63 BC 14 AD. These statements included information on
expenses on statistics concerning the provinces and dependent kingdoms; direct and indirect
taxation; as well as recurrent expenditures and gifts , as well as, the amounts of cash in the
Aerarium...and in the hands of the publicani (Oldroyd, The Role... , 1995). The Aerarium was the
treasury, and the publicani was the public. These are similar to what the Chinese had because they
were used by the government to go about completing the financing and running of the empire.
These figures could be used to make it easier to track all the expenses and revenues of the
government. The government was not the only ones to keep accounting records in the Roman
Empireeither. Account books were kept by those look to maintain and achieve citizenship. It is
believed that men of property at Rome often did write up their permanent account books about
every month. They were required to do this to maintain their citizenship because citizenship was
tied to the amount of property owned and this meant a need to keep records of it. (Oldroyd, The
Role... , 1995). As well as citizens, accounting was a necessity for the soldier of

  • 2. Analysis Of The Speaker By The Catholic Archbishop The author successfully addresses all points of the SOAPS in his first paragraph. The speaker the Catholic Archbishop addresses his Congregation on the ideas of Islamic sympathy which is completely unrealistic to a Catholic s belief. The congregation is the audience of the paper and the subject is on the faith of Islamand how it compares to the Christian faith. It s somewhat blasphemous though which is the point of the understatements and faux statements the Archbishop makes. The blasphemy of the passage starts when the Archbishop compares the Koran to the Bible. To any person, they would know that many different people wrote the Bible but only one person wrote the Koran. Comparing these two is unreasonable because they are written on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Favorite Teacher In High School Third Grade. Most people remember learning multiplication, getting more homework, and a very slight increase in responsibility. What s my most vivid memory? The time my teacher was rushed to the hospital during the school day. My homeroom teacher, Mrs. Hauge is still one of the nicest teachers I ve had today. She taught the cluster classroom, which is when all the kids the school considers Gifted Learners are all put in one class rather than being split up so that they can more easily be taught what they need. She was always nice, and not very strict. Basically, she was my favorite teacher all through elementary school. While her trip to the hospital was a traumatic experience for the whole class, it really shaped me as an individual. Mrs. Hauge is an older teacher. She wears glasses attached to a beaded necklace, and her faded blond hair was cut in a short bob. Every year on the day before winter break, without fail she would go to the front of the third grade hallway with reindeer ears and bells, and sing holiday songs like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bells. Every year after I was in her class, I returned to the third grade wing on that day to sing songs with her in the morning before school starts, as did a lot of her other past students. One day in November, I had an exciting day. And not in a good way. The day started as normal; we had morning meeting, did our grammar exercises, and filed out of the classroom to go to music. However, when we were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Similarities Between Hercules And The Myth Of Hercules Authors, poets, and film directors have all used ancient stories to create new pieces of literature and film works for modern times. The animated Disney film Hercules (1997) and the myth of Hercules share the background of audience driven narratives; however, Disney s aspiration to fill the theaters and earn money results in an unblemished narrative, while the original myth portrays an imperfect model to a flawed humanity. Greek mythologyhas been passed on and retold over generations. Literature and movies have been created to entertain as well as provide specific themes based off of myths. There are many heroes that mythology talks about and each one has lived an epic life, but there is one famous hero that has been immortalized throughout history. Hercules is the son of Zeusand a mortal named Alcmene. Zeus impregnated her while her husband was away and this is where his story began. Zeus wife, Hera, found out about the affair and was outrageous about his careless actions. She tried to prevent Hercules birth; however, when that didn t work she sent snakes to kill the baby. Hercules was too mighty for the snakes and strangled them before they could even hurt him. As stated in this source, Hera remained angry. How could she get even? Hera knew that she would lose in a fight, and that she wasn t powerful enough to prevent Zeus from having his way. Hera decided to pay Zeus back for his infidelity by making the rest of Hercules life as miserable as she could (Crane WEB). Hercules grew up to be a great young warrior and was all around. With this god like strength, also came an uncontrollable temper that made him react at times without thinking, but later made him realize the wrongdoings of his violence. He later then married a woman named Megara and had two beautiful children. But one day, Hera instilled a fit of rage into Hercules and made him slaughter his family with his very own hands. He was shocked by his actions and asked Apollo for assistance since he was drowning in guilt. Apollo later then gave him specific tasks to help Hercules redeem himself for the bloodshed he caused. The hero was sent to Eurystheus, and under his strict hand, he was to accomplish twelve labors over the next twelve years. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Food Structure And The Proper Combination Of Food In Italy it is known that food structure and the proper combination of food, is how the body properly digests and becomes healthy. Italians see food as, the key to health as well as sustenance and pleasure (200). When different foods are combined, the dished have to be served in a distinct order. This order is said to be as old as ancient Rome. The template is as follows antipasti, il primo, il secondo, dolce. This sequence is organized in a way to stimulate digestion and balance the qualities of the prior dishes. Antipasto is the first plate of food, but has several different types of nourishment, which announces the taste of the rest of the meal. It is an appetizer with a lot of different flavors, and there can be one to several dishes at a typical meal. Il Primo is the first main plate and is rice, pasta, or soup. Rice and pasta do not generally go together in a traditional meal. Meat or cheese could be in this dish, but only has part of a sauce or a pasta stuffing. Il Primo extends themes that are set by the antipasti, or the appetizer, by combining several different types of pastas with hundreds of different sauces. Sauces are typically based on garlic, basil, and tomatoes. There are several combinations to make a sauce, or a lighter sauce. So, Il Primo is a pretty simple dish with modest ingredients, but offers a ton of flavor, texture, and color in sauces and their combination with pasta or rice. Il Secondo is the second plate and consist of meat or fish and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Murder And Robbery Of A Teenage Girl By Six African... On June 15th, 1920, three innocent men were beaten and lynched in Duluth, Minnesota. The alleged rape and robbery of a teenage girl by six African American men, led a mob of protesters to kidnap three of the men and punish them without trial . Durring this time, racial tensions were at an all time high in Duluth . The Duluth lynchings were met with different reactions, and in many ways it sparked a change in the United States. Events such as this one often go unremembered due to their troubling nature, but these events are educational and necessary to learn while investigating Minnesota history. The background, legal action, and after math of it all show how Minnesota, and the country as a whole reacted to this event . While some Local Duluth newspaper responded in favor of the mob, the majority of National newspapers condemned the mob for their heinous crimes. Opposite reactions from multiple news reports shows how divided our country was about civil rights at the time, and how controversial the topic was . A call to action was needed. The Duluth lychings affected the nation by showing how controversial civil rights was at this time, and influencing the creation of new programs and laws to protect the rights of African Americans in our country. The 1920 s presented many hardships for the small black community the resided in Duluth. Racial tensions in the city, as well as all over the country, were high during this period . The Social Media And Digital Media The template/sample can be found in the appendix, as well as all the results summarized by Google Form. 20 people took the survey in a lapse time of 5 days between October 12 and October 17. The survey suggested that half of the surveyed had a Bachelor s degree and 75% of them are single, never married. Most of them (65%) had between 18 and 24 year old and took the survey via social media. The other category mostly represented (20%) was between 45 and 54 year old and took the survey sent my email. Knowing that most of the person who answered the survey was in the young generation I will focus my analysis on them. It is interesting to get to know more about their own perception of media. They haven t lived the transition between traditional media and digital media like the other older generation did. They have an all new look on media but still do not trust them. Only 25% of the surveyed answer social media to the question Please choose a media outlet you think is the most trustworthy В». The Generation Y should trusts the tools they use the most but surprisingly, for them the trustworthiest outlets were Newspaperand radio with 30%. People mostly trust radio and newspaper but still, 55% of them choose social media to access current news on the daily basis. The question here is; why do people go on media they don t trust? More the surveyed answered questions, more it was obvious that the majority was relying on social media and new outlet to get updates on the latest news. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Essay about The Lincoln Assassination John Wilkes Booth, born May 10, 1838, was an actor who performed throughout the country in many plays. He was the lead in some of William Shakespeare s most famous works. Additionally, he was a racist and Southern sympathizer during the Civil War. He hated Abraham Lincoln who represented everything Booth was against. Booth blamed Lincoln for all the South s ills. He wanted revenge. In late summer of 1864 Booth began developing plans to kidnap Lincoln, take him to Richmond (the Confederate capital), and hold him in return for Confederate prisoners of war. By January, 1865, Booth had organized a group of co conspirators that included Samuel Arnold, Michael O Laughlen, John Surratt, Lewis Powell (also called Lewis Paine or Payne), George... Atzerodt was to kill Vice President Andrew Johnson at the Kirkwood House where Johnson resided. Powell was assigned to kill Secretary of State William Seward. Herold would accompany Powell. All attacks were to take place simultaneously at approximately 10:15 P.M. that night. Booth hoped the resulting chaos and weakness in the government would lead to a comeback for the South. The Presidential party arrived at Ford s at about 8:30 P.M. Armed with a single shot derringer and a hunting knife, Booth arrived at Ford s at about 9:30 P.M. Joseph Burroughs, a boy who worked at the theatre, held his horse in the rear alley. Booth went next door to a saloon for a drink. He entered the front of Ford s Theatre around 10:07 P.M. Slowly he made his way toward the State Box where the Lincolns were sitting with Clara Harris and Henry Rathbone. Lincoln s bodyguard, John Parker of the Metropolitan Police Force, had left his post. At about 10:15 P.M. Booth opened the door to the State Box, shot Lincoln in the back of the head at near point blank range, and struggled with Rathbone. • 9. The Causes Of Maternal Mortality And Morbidity It is estimated that 529, 000 maternal deaths occur globally every year in developing countries. The probability that a woman will die during pregnancy is 400 per 100,000 live births. The risk is higher in sub Saharan Africa with 1,000 per 100,000 live births. The death of a woman during pregnancy, childbirth, or the postpartum period, is known as maternal mortality, occurs in 99% of all developing countries (WHO, 2015). According to the World Health Organization, the causes of maternal mortality and morbidity in Sub Saharan Africa are mainly results of a defective health system when it comes to dealing with complications during and after birth. The complications that contribute greatly to maternal mortality include hemorrhage, infection, high blood pressure, unsafe abortions, and obstructed labor. These complications are the leading causes of death among women aged 15 to 49 in developing countries. Kenya is a country that has been making a lot of progress in approaching some of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and certain health indicators. However, reducing maternal mortality still remains a challenge in this nation. The reason behind this slow progression results from the interaction of social, cultural, economic and logistical barriers, combined with a high fertility rate (World Bank), and inadequate and under funded health services (WHO). Strengthening the health system and improving quality of healthcare delivery can overcome these challenges. BURDEN ON HEALTH ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Creation Of Telomerase The cell is busier than the streets of New York, and when it splits, it must have everything go perfectly. If the chromosomes were to break down, the DNA it is holding could be damaged. That could be catastrophic for the cell. This is where telomere comes in. Telomere is a small area of nucleotides that repeat at the end of every chromosome to keep the chromosome from falling apart and breaking down. But, the telomere doesn t just appear out of nowhere. It is created just like everything else, with DNA. Nobel Prize winner cellbiologist Carol W. Greider discovered the enzyme telomerase. Telomerase is what creates the DNA found in telomere. As a result schools have incorporated programs that are specifically developed to ensure the success of each child individually. There are many different interventions that can be incorporated to change disruptive behavior that is being displayed in the classroom setting. The hypothesis is that disruptive behavior will significantly decrease once the intervention is incorporated and the appropriate behavior will drastically increase. The importance of gathering this data is so that teachers will be able to take back total control of their classrooms as well as taking control of disruptive behavior. Total student loans have reached an outstanding of one trillion dollars and are still on going. It would take the United States hundred fifty years, twenty million dollars a day to fully cover this national debt. Student loans are intended for students to go to college but they come with a rising social and economic cost. As the expectancy of high return and tuition are increasing, more students are ending up with a mountain of debt and without a degree. It is risking our countries future; we will face another recession if the trend of student loans continues to grow exponentially. We will have a future of Millienials who are in debt and unable to invest their money into the economy. In order to have a stable and working economy, we need people to spend money. Young adults are the masters of spending money and have a huge contribution in stabilizing our economy. If young adults are spending their money in paying off their debts, there will be definite consequences. So people might ask, what aspects of the economy are being affected due to rising student debt? Despite the social cost that student loans promote, through in depth research and analysis, I have concluded that our economic cost will evolve around the housing market, small businesses, and students career choices. These are extremely valuable industries that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Hypothesis Testing Is The Process Of Which An Analyst May... Hypothesis Testing Paper Monica Gschwind PSY 315 June 8, 2015 Judith Geske Hypothesis testing is the process in which an analyst may test a statistical hypothesis. The methodology used by the analyst is based on the nature of the data used and the main goals of the analysis. The main goal in this is to either reject or accept the null hypothesis. Through testing, results will show that someone who may prove one answer, may not mean that answer is actually correct, for there may be many factors that may change the outcome. For this reason is why researchers the five or one percent probability rates. In this null hypothesis it will prove that there is no difference between these variables. With the single variables it is also proven that there is no difference from zero. Statistical evidence will later prove that if it is indeed proven to be fact or nullified based on the evidence gathered. A null hypothesis is a process in which research may try to disprove, reject or nullify the proposed hypothesis. In a study, the researcher may use the hypothesis based on a specific testable prediction; this is based on a dependent and independent variable in a study. In result, the hypothesis researched will match what the analyst is trying to prove to be true in the problem. The first step one must take when testing a hypothesis is restating the question experience analyzed into an alternative hypothesis and null hypothesis. The following scenario is as follows: Do ... The narrator presents himself as an apple tree in that his son, Douglas, demonstrates a similar affection for the destruction of human persistence to survive. • 15. Social Media Has Changed The Expectations Of Social... Today, the average person spends at least two hours a day on social media sites. Through social media, texting, and online chatrooms, people can communicate with others that they would otherwise have no contact with. For this topic, it is important to define what friendship really means. Some have argued that a friend is someone they talk with; others say it s someone they ve shared an experience with. For this essay, friendshipwill be defined as someone who is kept in constant contact with through and outside of the internet. The majority of effects seen from technology are negative: from decreased in person social interactions, to loss of identity, and ultimately the watering down of friendships. Social media has changed the expectations of social relationships. While technology does allow users to stay connected with family and friends from varying distances, technology s negative effects also make it harder to maintain those relationships and have a lasting impact on how people will pursue their future relationships. With the rise of social media and other forms of online communication, people have the opportunity to connect with old and new friends alike. However, this connection through technology has changed how people view friendship. In his article Faux Friendships, William Deresiewicz discusses how much the ideas of friendship have changed over time. To get there, the first thing needed was a change in thinking. This began with the scientific revolution, and led to the Enlightenment in the 18th century. The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was highlighted by individualism, reason, and skepticism. Skepticism caused people to denounce divine right of kings, thus moving from monarchies to democracies. The mode of production ¬¬is the combination of social class and the social relations of production of that period in time. These both establish life in general: the political and social institutions, culture, and ideologies. Marx believed that you are born into societies where the social relations of production are already predetermined. There are also other features of society that are an outcome of the social relations of productions. Things like products and institutions come out the need for them. Educational institutions come from the need for a higher educated population. Products come from the need of a product to solve a certain problem. Warren Susman [1] From a critic s point of view, what is there not to scrutinize when a white, Jewish filmmaker is responsible for a historical film about African Americans during the Civil War? One which happens to have a brave young Boston Brahmin as the supposed leader of a colored battalion? In rebuttal to a charge by Roger Ebert that Glory concentrates too much on the white point of view, Freeman claimed: I don t have a problem with that. You cannot reasonably ask a white writer to do it differently. Now, if we re going to start citing some unfortunates, it might be unfortunate that a black writer didn t write it, but if a black writer had written it, there s a good chance he wouldn t have found a producer. From this experiment, Bandura developed his Social Learning Theory, the theory that we learn from one another through observation. To prove his theory, Bandura used children to see if they would imitate a modal who showed aggressive behavior toward a Bobo doll. The subjects were 36 boys and 36 girls from the Stanford University s Nursery School aged between 3 and 6 years old. The models were two adults, male and female. Aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children, non aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children and 24 children served as the control group. For the first step of the experiment, a child and a model were brought into a room containing toys. The child was escorted to a corner that had potato prints and stickers while the model was escorted to a corner that had a tinker toy set, a mallet and a 5 foot inflated Bobo doll. For subjects that were in the aggressive condition, the model began aggressing toward the doll after a minute. The model performed distinct aggressive acts that Bandura was looking for the child to imitate. The model laid the doll on its side, sat on it and punched it repeatedly in the nose and then raised the doll, picked up the mallet and struck it on the head. • 27. Why The Church Is A Complex Concept Of Grasp There are many reasons why the church is one, but to actually be one is a complex concept to grasp. To be one means to be united, and unity is a powerful bond held together for a common purpose. For example, through the Trinity, God is one in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Likewise, all the aspects of the church is one just like the relationship of the Trinity. However, the Trinity is also one of the primary ways the church is united. The Trinity is the leader in making the church one. As Lumen Gentium claims, the universal church is seen to be a people made one by the unity of the Father, the Son, and the holy Spirit, (Lumen Gentium, 4). Yet, each part of the Trinity plays a specific role in the unity. First, God the Father calls us to be a part of His church. All the just from the time of Adam, from Abel, the just one, to the last of the elect will be gathered together with the Father in the universal church, (Lumen Gentium, 2). God the Father allows the entire church to have a relationship with Him, and brings people together through his love. In addition, The Father sent His Son to bring the kingdom of God to Earth. The Church s foundation is the Son of God. Lumen Gentium goes on to say, All are called to this union with Christ, who is the light of the world, from whom we come, through whom we live, and towards whom we direct our lives, (Lumen Gentium, 3). School Security Essay School Security Seeing students wear uniforms in school may seem either too strict or too traditional, but when one figures out, and understand, the reason why for this formality, more will see the advantage of wearing school uniforms. Some may feel that uniforms should not be required in schools because they think it s a waste of money, students don t want to be told what to wear, or because they don t want to look the same like everyone else at school. However, uniforms are much less expensive than the clothing brands that students wear, so parents are saving more money. Students also need to understand that they can t always get what they want, they need to realize that not everything is going to be their way. Students don t want to wear the same clothing like others because they want to stand out, but this can create conflict at school because the students will begin to judge each other by what they wear, and if everyone wears uniforms we would be avoiding these types of conflicts. This uniform policy turned out to be very successful that President Clinton even mentioned it in his 1996 State of the Union address. Statistics showed that there was a major decrease in overall crimes, suspensions, and offenses which means that wearing uniforms was successful for this school district. The first antitrust law that was passed by Congress is called the Sherman Act and is a comprehensive charter of economic liberty aimed at preserving free and unfettered competition as the rule of trade according to www.FTC.gov . Later in 1914 Congress passed two more laws, one creating the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTCA) and then the Clayton Act, which now create the three core federal antitrust laws that are still active currently. I believe that the Sherman Act, Clayton Act and antitrust laws that are in place are effective because of the lawsuits that have taken place due to companies breaking the laws. My first example regarding how the laws are effective is the case of Certegy Check Services, Inc. s lawsuit in 2013. • 43. The Consequences Of Whaling And Its Effects On The... Whaling is the hunting of whales to obtain meat and blubber. The blubber is brought to a station off the shore designed to boil the blubber into oil (Hacquebord 2001). All these components of a whale are useful to humans, but by extracting these whales at such a high rate may have consequences for the ecosystem they leave behind (Hacquebord 2001;Williams et al. 2004;Baum and Worm 2009). It is important to question the effects mass exploitation has on the environment in order to prevent or predict certain unwanted changes for future removal (Williams et al. 2004;Baum and Worm 2009). Whaling has been studied from various time periods and different places around the world (Hacquebord 2001;Williams et al. 2004;Trites et al. 2007;Baum and Worm 2009). In 1977 there was an increase in certain species of lions and seals in British Columbia, while in Alaska there was a decrease of seals and sea lions (Williams et al. 2004;Trites et al. 2007). Because this happened after commercial whaling, many attribute the decline with cascading top down effect (Trites et al. 2007). There are many other factors that make an impact and based on research the removal of the whales did not cause the shift in seals and sea lions (Trites et al. 2007). It could help learners understand the factors of human development and it could also guide us how to be a great educator in the future. There are many different developments in educational psychology, such as cogntive development, social, emotional and moral development. Each development is significant and we have to go through. In this essay, I am going to introduce two theorists different theories on cogntive and identity development. Cognitive development is concerned with our ability to think, to reason, and to understand and remember the world around us. It involves mental processes that are associated with taking in, organising and making sense of information processes that include perceiving, attending to, understanding and recalling information. These mental funstions are part of what is referred to as cognition(Duchesne McMaugh, 2016). There was a person who made a great contribution to cognitive development. He was a very famous child psychologist and he was also one of the first theorists to attempt to comprehensively describe the process of cognitive development of children. He observed children and questioned them about the way they solved problems. His work changed the way we think about cognitive development(Duchesne McMaugh, 2016). It was Jean Piaget. Interpreting The Matrix through Descartes’s Philosophy Essay Many ancient philosophers, including Plato, explored metaphysics in relation to reality before Descartes s in depth questioning of the subject. However, Descartes s views on mind/body dualism differ greatly from Plato s. As Marleen Rozemond (author of Descartes s Dualism) points out, Plato believes that the body is simply a vessel for the soul to use, while Descartes provides proof that the body and soul are interconnected (172). One does not simply use the other; though they are separate, the mindaffects the body and the body affects the mind. But from time to time I have found that the senses deceive, and it is prudent never to trust completely those who have deceived us even once. (384) Through questioning the knowledge he had always believed to be true, Descartes comes to realize that many of his basic beliefs were founded on sensual knowledge. This leads him to question his very existence, and eventually to search for unconditional proof of his existence Christopher Falzon, philosophy lecturer and author of Philosophy Goes to the Movies and Philosophy and The Matrix, points out that The Matrix employs Cartesian style skepticism in its attempt to inundate the viewer in this cyber world ( Philosophy and the Matrix 99). Are our relationships built on foundations of true love, compassion and kindness? Although the songs was originally released in 2003, most of the issues the song focuses on are still relevant today, in 2017. Which really makes me wonder, where IS the love?
