Globalization refers to the increased flow of trade, money, and information between countries, especially by large multinational corporations operating in multiple nations. Colonization describes the political and economic control that a nation establishes over another area by occupying it and potentially establishing colonies. While globalization connects people globally and allows for faster transfer of information and money, colonization involves one nation taking control over another area. Both can distort local cultures but also bring economic development and create new markets.
