Global Warming Opinion Essay
1. Global Warming Opinion Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of global warming presents a formidable challenge, as it requires
a nuanced understanding of the complex issues surrounding climate change. The difficulty lies
not only in researching and comprehending the scientific aspects but also in articulating a well-
informed and persuasive opinion. The topic demands a delicate balance between presenting
factual information and expressing a unique viewpoint, which adds an extra layer of intricacy to
the writing process.
To create a compelling global warming opinion essay, one must delve into the scientific
literature, environmental policies, and socio-economic impacts associated with climate change.
This task necessitates extensive research, critical analysis, and the ability to synthesize diverse
sources to form a coherent argument. Moreover, the writer must navigate through the
controversies and debates surrounding global warming, carefully weighing evidence to construct
a well-supported perspective.
Expressing a personal opinion on such a consequential issue requires a thoughtful examination of
ethical considerations, potential solutions, and the broader implications for humanity. This
process demands not only a solid grasp of the subject matter but also the ability to communicate
complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
In conclusion, writing a global warming opinion essay is a challenging endeavor that involves
thorough research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. It is a task that requires a
deep understanding of the scientific, social, and political aspects of climate change, coupled with
the ability to present a well-reasoned and persuasive argument.

2. Jeffrey Dahmer s Addiction To Alcohol
Jeffrey Dahmer was a disturbed individual, which was evident in his childhood. He
had a few friends in elementary school, but by high school was perceived as
strange and a loner by his peers. Dahmer s addiction to alcohol only added to his
anti social behavior and inability to make lasting relationships and connections.
Jeffrey was never able to hold down a job for very long. Dahmer held a morbid
fascination with bones of dead animals. His father swept some out from underneath
the house one day when Dahmer was four, and the young boy loved the sound the
bones made. He spent much of his childhood collecting insects and preserving them
in jars, dissecting dead animals (mainly roadkill that he picked up), and learning to
how to preserve bones
3. Skeletal Muscle Contraction And Relaxation Is Vital For
Skeletal muscle contraction and relaxation is vital for voluntary body movements to
occur. Skeletal muscles contract when myofibrils composed of actin and myosin slide
past each other, which contracts the muscle by altering its length. The gastrocnemius
muscle in Rana pipiens, which is attached to the sciatic nerve, can be stimulated to
find threshold and maximal stimulus voltage. Once threshold is reached, contraction
amplitude increases with stimulus voltage until the maximal voltage is reached, at
which point it levels off. Altering the interstimulus interval can induce twitch
summation in the gastrocnemius, leading to one combined contraction with a high
amplitude. Increased stimulus frequency can be used to induce a tetanic... Show more

Twitches are the resulting contraction from the firing of an AP in muscles. Twitches
are much longer than the APs themselves. Twitch recruitment uses external stimuli to
determine the threshold and maximal voltages of nerves and muscles. Stimuli below
the threshold voltage, or the minimum stimulus strength required to elicit an action
potential, will not cause a muscle to twitch. Once threshold potential is determined,
increased stimulus voltage will increase the contraction amplitude of the twitch until
the maximal stimulus is reached. The twitch will not significantly increase in strength
for any voltage above maximal. This is because at maximal stimulus voltage all
motor units have already been recruited to contract. The gastrocnemius muscle has a
far higher threshold and maximal voltage that the sciatic nerve due to its size and the
number of motor units present in the gastrocnemius. Along with increasing stimulus
voltage, contraction amplitude can also be increased through twitch summation.
Twitch summation occurs when a muscle is stimulated twice in quick succession, so
that the second twitch occurs before the first twitch has relaxed. The twitches then
combine to form a stronger muscle contraction. This process is made possible by the
temporal relationship between a muscle s AP and the resulting twitch, which is far
longer in duration than the 1 ms AP that causes it. Due to the nature of skeletal muscle
contraction, the length tension relationship in

Foreword
This little volume (the result of meditation and experience) is not intended as an
exhaustive treatise on the much written upon subject of the power of thought. It is
suggestive rather than explanatory, its object being to stimulate men and women to
the discovery and perception of the truth that
They themselves are makers of themselves
by virtue of the thoughts which they choose and encourage; that mind is the master
weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance,
and that, as they may have hitherto woven in ignorance and pain they may now
weave in enlightenment and happiness.

Such is the conscious master, and man can only thus become by discovering within
himself the laws of thought; which discovery is totally a matter of application, self
analysis, and experience.
Only by much searching and mining are gold an diamonds obtained, and man can
find every truth connected with his being if he will dig deep into the mine of his
soul. And that he is the maker of his character, the molder of his life, and the builder
of his destiny, he may unerringly prove: if he will watch, control, and alter his
thoughts, tracing their effects upon himself, upon others, and upon his life and
circumstances; if he will link cause and effect by patient practice and investigation,
utilizing his every experience, even to the most trivial, as a means of obtaining that
knowledge of himself. In this direction, as in no other, is the law absolute that He
that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened ; for only by
patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the Door of the Temple
of Knowledge.

6. Butanol And Ethanoic Acid
The reflux reaction (equation) is a chemical reaction that occurs in equilibrium. The
forward reaction, that is the production of ester, will be favoured until the limiting
reagent has been exhausted. In our experiment, butanol is the limiting reagent,
therefore, once this reactant has been exhausted the reaction will then proceed in the
opposite direction, favouring the production of the reactants. This reverse reaction is
an example of a hydrolysis reaction. In this instance, the reverse hydrolysis reaction
will only proceed correctly in the presence of water while in acidic conditions. The
forward, condensation and reverse, hydrolysis reactions will continue until an
equilibrium is established. In this equilibrium, the condensation and the... Show more

Thus, according to the theory that molecules of like form will dissolve each other,
only polar solutes will interact and be soluble in water. This occurs since non polar
molecules are unable to overcome the strong level of attraction between two polar
molecules, forming intermolecular interactions with surrounding non polar molecules
rather than the water molecules. Similarly, polar solutes will not dissolve in non
polar solutions as the molecules will be more attracted to themselves, forming
stronger secondary interactions with surrounding polar molecules than the adjacent
non polar molecules. The ethanoic acid and butanol reactants, sulfuric acid catalyst
and the water molecules remaining from the reflux stage are all examples of such
water soluble polar molecules which comprise the aqueous layer. These molecules
display similar non covalent forces to water due to their complementary polarities
(Moore et.al, 2008). Therefore, the addition of water will cause these polar
molecules to form hydrogen bonds with the water molecules, dissolving the polar
molecules (Figure 3). The electronegativity difference between the partially positive
hydrogen atom and a lone electron pair on a molecule such as oxygen causes the polar
molecules to electrostatically bond to the water molecules (Moore et.al, 2008). The
butyl ethanoate and water are immiscible as it has a relatively large non polar
component (hydrocarbon chain). Consequently, the lower polarity of the ester means
that the butyl ethanoate will not be attracted and will not be soluble in the water. This
polar attraction allows for separation from the organic layer that contains the ester.
This initial water wash only partially removes the ethanoic acid, sulfuric acid and
water contaminants present in the aqueous layer. This is due to water droplets
containing inorganic molecules adhering to
7. The Bible s Treatment For Anxiety
WINNING OVER ANXIETY
Matthew 6:25 34
Too often the world s wisdom focuses on the anxious person and what they can do to
resolve their anxiety. The Bible s treatment for anxiety involves more than just the
anxious person doing the right things, saying the right prayers, following a proper
diet and getting the right amount of sleep. It also involves friends. Matthew 6:25 34
says,
25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what
you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food
and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow
nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not

A.Jesus points out that some things are more important than others.
1.Many of the things we worry about are simply not worth the effort.
2.Much ado about nothing, is the way Shakespeare put it.
B.Jesus says we can conquer worry over the unimportant by learning to seek first the

almost always worse than the thing itself.
B.Christ s answer to worry over the future is found in (verse 34), Each day has
enough trouble of its own. In other words, live one day at a time. Prudently manage

The first week of this class was a challenge because I was not prepared with a project.
I felt I had plenty of time before I had to come up with a project or plan for this
class but all too soon I was enrolled and the class had begun. After looking at a few
possible projects and subjects for a thirty page thesis I decided on going through the
Certified Ethical Hacking program on Pluralsight.com.
Over the past fourteen weeks I watched the lectures on Pluralsight.com, took quizzes
on skillset.com, read chapters and took chapter review tests in the Certified Ethical
Hacker version 9 book by Sean Philip Oriyano. I watched approximately sixty one
hours of lectures, spent several hours taking assesments and quizzes on skillset.com
and spent somewhere in the neighborhood of thirty five hours reading and taking
chapter review tests in the CEH version 9 book.
A Certified Ethical Hacker must understand and know how to test for
vulnerabilities and weaknesses in systems. This is done using the same knowledge
and tools as a malicious hacker but in a legal manner to assess the security and
preparedness of a target system. The CEH credential certifies individuals in the
discipline of Ethical Hacking from a vendor neutral perspective. The first week of
class I had to agree to the Certified Ethical Hacker Rules and submit a candidate
application and certification agreement. Once done with that I had to setup a test

The American Red Cross and its intervention in the hurricanes Isaac and Sandy
Factual summary
The American Red Cross is a major organization in the United States and around
the world. Clara Barton founded the American chapter in 1881. She was a public
servant who decided to get involved during the civil war by attending to wounded
soldiers and feeding them on the battlefield. Her sense of humanitarian work was
only strengthened by her trip to Europe during the Franco Prussian war, where she
discovered the initiative of Henri Dunant (Reitman, 1996). After the battle of
Solfinero, this Swiss banker was shocked by the carnage of war and decided to
gather doctors and volunteers around the village to help tend to the wounded. This
action motivated him to create a nonpartisan organization that can focus on caring for
people wounded in wars and conflicts regardless of their origin. (Reitman, 1996). The
organization was ratified in the 1864 Geneva Convention by twelve countries and
later by many others. The United States Red Cross was founded due to the efforts of
Barton in Washington (Reitman, 1996). The first chapter of the national American
Red Cross was created in upstate New York. Later, the organization received funding
to create its national headquarters in Washington. Since then, the Red Cross has
benefited form a close relationship with Washington as it was created by
congressional charter more than a century ago and plays a
10. The Key Elements Of Contract
2This article describes one of the best elements of contract called consideration and
on what extent consideration is valid or not. Thousands of years ago people use
barter system to exchange goods and services to meet their needs without any special
law than invention of currency make it easy to exchange goods, eventually the law
makes it valid and more reliable. There are six elements in which the parties are
generally bound to do something in future such as Offer and Acceptance,
consideration, intention, invitation to treat, Legal capacity. Consideration appeared in
1916 and become one of the basic and essential elements for the development of
contract. Consideration is nothing but an enforceable agreement where a promissory
promise to exchange or to do something in future and promisee accept to perform
such act in return and the parties intend to bind through agreement. The question
arises that whether the consideration is legally valid or not under some conditions.
Consideration could be small or long, good or bad. Earlier nominal consideration was
adequate in contract. It does not matter that the consideration having the same values
or same benefit. The courts uses sufficient consideration while setting the disputes or
making the decision. Where there is money, payment and exchange of goods is
involved, consideration considered to be more valuable. Contracts are frequently
exercise commercially such as construction, purchase and sale of property, monetary
assistance,
11. The Effects Of Stress On Nursing Students Academic...
1. Introduction In addition to the challenges experienced in a university context,
nursing students also contend with problems associated with patients, educators, and
the hospital environment during clinical practice. Thus, these aspects contribute to
the stress related to being a nursing student (Karadag et al., 2008). Stress is a factor
of key importance because it negatively affects nursing students academic
performance and health (Rhead, 1995; Sheu et al., 1997). Consistently, studies report
that nursing students self esteem is negatively affected by stress during the
education period (Boey, 1998; Edwards et al., 2010)andself confidence and self
esteem are essential factors in coping with stress. In contrast, high self esteem is...

Consequently, organizing interventions to increase students ability to cope with
stress during occupational education is crucial and will offer them protection in terms
of developing increased biopsychosocial health. Many existing studies have examined
stress related factors including those that affect stress levels and nursing students
coping ability during their education. However, there are few modeling studies
evaluating the relationships between specific stress variables in this context (Asberg
et al., 2008; Klainin Yobas et al., 2014). Likewise, in Turkey, no modeling study has
been conducted on stress related factors in the field of nursing. Thus, in the current
modeling study, we analyze the factors that potentially influence university nursing
students experience of stress. 3. Aims and Hypothesis The aim of this study is to
investigate the relationships between stress experienced by students during their
nursing education, stress coping, self esteem, social support, and health status. It was
hypothesized that nursing students who experienced high stress levels during their
education would cope more negatively with stress and have health complaints if their
self esteem and social support were low. Overall, this study will provide an important
theoretical basis for intervention studies. 4. Methods 4.1. Design To test the
correlations between variables, this study used a crosssectional,

Fernando Cardenal, serving as the National Literacy Crusade Coordinator, and
Valerie Miller, a CNA advisor, outlined that the literacy campaign would not just
eradicate illiteracy, but create an identity of a new man [and a] new woman for
Nicaraguans. Through the CNA, the Sandinistas hoped to introduce young
Nicaraguans to the difficulties and hardship endured by Nicaraguas poor rural
population. For many of the brigadistas who volunteered, the 1980 literacy campaign
served as their first experience with the other side of Nicaragua s population, a side
that remained unseen and not thought of by many under the Somoza regime. The life
that brigadistas lived in during the CNA significantly altered their perspectives on
society, both politically and culturally. The Sandinistas did in fact succeed at
redefining the concept of the Nicaraguan experience for its youth.
The Nicaraguan volunteers in the National Literacy Crusade developed a sense of
new nationalism for Nicaragua defined by their experiences with the illiterate
Nicaraguan population. The accounts of this change is most evident from the
experiences of brigadistas working in the Nicaragua s poor rural regions. Brigadistas,
the majority of whom came from urban middle class backgrounds, gained an
appreciation for the rural farmers and laborers. The testaments and personal accounts
of brigadistas provide insight on the impact of their time with the long
disenfranchised citizens of Nicaragua. Several factors

16. The Bell Jar, By Sylvia Plath
Of the two readings we were given to select from for our Midterm Assignment, I
chose to conduct my initial psychosocial and diagnostic assessment on the
character, Esther, from the semi autobiographical novel The Bell Jar , by Sylvia
Plath. The protagonist in the novel is a 19 year old girl from the suburbs of Boston
growing up in the 1950 s who has accepted a summer internship working at a
prominent magazine in New York City. It is made clear from the beginning of the
novel that Esther s move has resulted in a possible adjustment disorder as she
narrates her feelings of sadness, misplacement, and disconnectedness from reality. It
is evident that she is painfully aware of her approaching melancholic depression as
evidenced by her opening statement, I knew something was wrong with me that
summer and later, I felt very still and very empty, the way the eye of a tornado must
feel, moving dully along in the middle of the surrounding hullabaloo (Plath, 1971).
Throughout the novel, Esther holds the wits and self awareness to know something is
or has been stewing within, while simultaneously having a skewed perception of the
world around her. Feelings of helplessness and entrapment are illustrated by the
metaphor Esther has created The bell jarthat suggests she has lost control of herself.
Esther describes the bell jar as a symbolic meaning of the lenses in which she see s
life through; a trapped space where she lives in her own sour air , separated from the
world

Al Seckel, a cognitive neuroscientist, explores the idea that a violation in our visual
perception can cause us to feel a sense of joy during a TedTalk presentation in
Monterey, California on February 26, 2004. He elaborates on this idea by presenting
the audience with various examples of visual illusions concerning a violation in
depth, colour, shape, size, and etc. The lecture is packed with various types of visual
illusions ranging from old to new, from artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci to Arthur
Ganson and he even included several examples of the visual illusions he has created.
His hypothesis regarding the delight in visual illusions is correct, as throughout the
lecture, when presented with new visual illusions the audience is entertained and
joyful.
Textual Connections
Several connections can be drawn between the topics and types of visual illusions
covered in the textbook and the types of visual illusion shown by Al Seckel in the
TedTalk lecture. One of the connections I was able to draw from reading the
chapter in the textbook regarding visual illusions and watching the TedTalk lecture
was the violation of size, accomplished by using a converging line. The textbook
shows the Ponzo Illusion, where the line closer to the converging line is perceived
as being much larger than the line farther away from the converging line (Cramer et

between such systems make everyday life for the average American as easy as

what the actors desired endstate is. When a network is hacked and compromised,
how the act is categorized is all dependent on the identity of those guilty, the intended
targets, the desired outcome, and the overarching desired outcome the actors wished
would come to fruition. All these components have led to the classification of

Influence of Social Media
Nowadays, social media has a big influence in our society. Who is didn t use social
media? Almost everyone use Social Media. Indonesia ranked 6th as the most
Social Media users. After China, US, India, Brazil, and Japan. Our teenagers are so
active in social media. Maybe they could be online in social media almost 24 hours
per day. But there s a good and bad effects of social media. So, there s some of bad
and good effects of social media that we will discuss here. People who use social
media in excess can be anti social. They will be introvert an spend a lot of time

they become introvert, they could be bullied. Social media can ... Show more content

in other city or other country. In this sophisticated era, we can even meet face to

to know information from worldwide. Social media make everything looks easy.
As example, people didn t need to bring a newspaper, they only need to brng their
smartphone then they could open news and read it by online. Which mean people
can avoid global warming by reducing paper usage for newspaper. Student can get
help too. They can learn from social media. Like they could search on google for
assignments. Recently there are teachers who teach by online. In college, most of
them using internet to send assignments. As example, in UKRIDA there s web

24. Essay about The Life and Literary Works of Shirley Jackson
Shirley Jackson was born on December 14, 1919 to Leslie and Geraldine Jackson.
Her surroundings were comfortable and friendly. Two years after Shirley was born,
her family with her newborn brother moved from San Francisco to Burlingame,
California, about thirty miles away. According to her mother, Shirley began to
compose verse almost as soon as she could write it (Friedman, 18). As a child, Shirley
was interested in sports and literature. In 1930, a year before she attended
Burlingame High School, Shirley began writing poetry and short stories. Jackson
enrolled in the liberal arts program at the University of Rochester in 1934. But after
periods of unhappinessand questioning the loyalty of her friends, she withdrew from

In 1940, after their graduation Hyman and Jackson, who had a relationship, were
married. While living in Vermont, Jackson continued to write. One of her earliest
times in Vermont later became material for her first book about the family, Life
Among the Savages. Between 1945 and 1947, Jackson was occupied with her first
novel, The Road Through the Wall. But it was in 1948 that her greatest success was
achieved. The publication of the short story, The Lottery , brought fame, as well as
letters from readers all over the country. But more often there were abusive letters
from people who did not understand her motives or what she was trying to do. A
year later a book entitled, The Lottery , was published containing an assortment of
short stories including The Lottery. The critics by that time, had decided that Shirely
Jackson was a writer of much talent and uniqueness. Even though Jackson was
raising four children while her husband went to work, she still found time to write.
Sometimes when a story idea would come to her, she would bolt off to her
typewriter. Instead of fighting writing, as other writers do; she found the opposite;
that writing was relaxing.
In 1949, the Hymans moved to Westport, Connecticut. As usual she worked hard. Six
of her stories were published in various

Clara Barton
I may be compelled to face danger, but never fear it, and while our soldiers can
stand and fight, I can stand and feed and nurse them. A quote by Clara Barton,
American civil war nurse and founder of the American National Red Cross
(Lewis). By many, Clara is said to be The Angel of The Battlefield , how does one
acquire such a title (Allen)? Through her family life, her efforts providing relief to
soldiers on the front lines, and her work with the international and american red cross,
she earned the title of The Angel of the Battlefield (Clara Barton).
December 25, 1821, Clara Barton was brought into this world in North Oxford,
Massachusetts. Her father worked as not only a farmer but also as a state
lawmaker. He even served in the American Revolution (Allen). One of Clara s
most famous quotes The patriot blood of my father was warm in my veins (Lewis)
illustrates her dedication to the patriot cause, likely brought upon by her father s
influence. Her mother, Sarah, was responsible for urging Clara to become a

27. Mark Twain s The Celebrated Frog Of Calaveras County
The purpose of this essay is to help explore the history of Mark Twain s short story
The Celebrated Frog of Calaveras County , and how this short story was affected by
the current events going on during the late 1800 s, Mark Twain uses of the
surrounding around him to help both inspire and craft that into his stories, and lastly
how Mark Twain studies and understanding of literary techniques to help form The
Celebrated Frog. This essay will look into three different articles that touches into
each of these points that will help both and discuss and understand how Mark Twain
was able to write one his most famous short storyThe Celebrated Frog of Calaveras
County . We will start with the history of this short story by looking at Gina
Burkart article entitled The Jumping Frog both Old and New which showed how
Mark Twain was able to craft this short from an older story that he heard from word
of mouth along with Twain s trip out West to California. Next, we will look at
Twain s ability to use literary techniques such as making your story reflect the
dialect that he was trying to target to help sell his short stories, and how Twain was
a pure genesis at crafting this literary technique to a tee. Finally, we will see how the
events going on during the late 1800 s affected Twain s writing, and how Twain
writing could be seen as writing of that time period. In order to start we must first
look at the history of Mark Twain s and the history of
28. Examples Of Innocence In 12 Angry Men
A person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law . In the play, Twelve
Angry Men by Reginald Rose, a 19 year old is on trial for the murder of his father.
After many pieces of evidence were presented, the three that are in doubt include
the woman who wears glasses who lives across the street, the way the father was
stabbed with the knife, and the old man who lives down stairs, who owns two
canes. Based on these, the boy is not guilty. One piece of evidence that help to
prove his innocence is the woman who lives across the street and wears glasses.
The women who live across the street has testified against the boy, saying that she
saw him kill his father through the window of her apartment and the last two
windows of an El train. Now it was proved that you can see through windows of the
El train at night. However, the woman wears glasses, one of the jurors wears
glasses and he can t even see the clock that is in the same room as him. Now it
could be a chance that the woman is farsighted, but since it is known that no one
sleeps with their glasses on. Her testimony has been debunked since there was no
possible way she could have saw him kill his father all the way from across the street.

Anish Kapoor. This is followed by discussion of the two significant aspects of his
work context and narrative. Born in Mumbai, India, in 1954, to parents of Punjabi
and Iraqi heritage. Anish Kapoor moved to London early in his career to pursue
studies in design. He first gained notoriety for his work in the 1980s for creating
biomorphic sculptures and installations Revered as being often profound, verging
and inspiring . Much of his work incorporates a modernist feeling. A modernist
feeling of materiality with an interest for the control of structure and the view of
space. His work consists of natural figures, using specific materials (for example,
stone, limestone and marble). His models slowly extended toward more minimalist
designs (later in his career). Kapoor uses rich tones, amazingly high quality surfaces,
and uses perspectives that create optical illusions. This shows deep thinking and
understanding of space.

31. Archetyble Heros In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The definition or idea of a hero is classified differently between every individual. A
number of people would state that a hero is a character who saves the world or
saves a person s life. On the other hand, it could be someone who has influence.
Throughout history, heroes are constantly characterized by individuals who are able
to rise up to a challenge; any challenge presented to them. The typical definition of
the Heroarchetype is somebody who surmounts trials and overcomes obstacles all
throughout their journey on behalf of a tribe, group, or civilization. A biblical hero
is a person from the bible that has lived their life through faith, an ordinary person
appointed by God. Their life is devoted towards God based on their actions and
beliefs, influencing many people s lives. Enkiduand Gilgamesh are viewed as
conventional heroes in the Epic of Gilgameshwhile Joseph is considered as a biblical
hero in the Bible. One major difference between an ordinary hero and a biblical hero
is that biblical heroes do not have extraordinary talents or abilities, instead they retain
true faith. As central characters to their respective stories, Gilgamesh, Enkidu, and
Joseph all possess heroic characteristics while overcoming trials even though their
distinctive backgrounds set them apart.
To begin with, Gilgamesh is bombarded with a variety of challenges and is forced to
conquer them, turning him into the archetypal hero he is meant to be. Initially,
people viewed Gilgamesh as a
32. Iphigenia And Benazir Bhutto And Greek Mythology
Greek mythology and its characters are often symbolic representations of people in
reality. Such symbolism continues to serve its purpose even today, seen through
parallels between characters and people, as well as stories and events. Such a parallel
is present in comparing Iphigenia, a Greek mythical character, to Benazir Bhutto, the
first female Pakistani prime minister. Although, one is mythical and the other, a
historical figure, there are corresponding themes and parallels in their stories and in
the motivations behind their actions. Iphigenia was known for her bravery at Aulis
where she submitted herself for sacrifice for the good of Greece, in order to advance
and glorify the nation. As such, Benazir Bhutto was known for her bravery in Pakistan
where she worked to advance and glorify the nation, ultimately ending in her
assassination. Though their stories are not identical, there are many undeniable
common themes and parallels present. Both the women were daughters to significant
political figures of the time, Iphigenia being the daughter of Agamemnon and Benazir
Bhutto being the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, a former Pakistani prime minister.
Being the daughters of significant political figures of the time placed both the
females on the path to their eventual deaths and the glory that accompanied their
deaths. In addition, both Iphigenia and Benazir Bhutto were females and
undoubtedly, treated differently from the males of the time. Glory for either of
them, being females, was usually attained through motherhood, marriage, and other
traditionally feminine roles. This is, also, why Iphigenia mentions that her death
will be what I ll be remembered by. Let that stand for me in place of the children
and the marriage (Iphegenia in Aulis line 1396). Both of them attempted to hide
from their fate. Iphigenia attempted to hide when the army was coming to take her
to sacrifice. Benazir Bhutto, also, hid by going into self imposed exile to Dubai in
1998. Both of the women had many people wanting their death, and the people
wanting their death in each story were motivated by a vision they had for their
nation, be it Greece or Pakistan. It is to be noted this parallel has a minor split in that

Angie Ho Instructor Curt Duffy English 101 10 Dec 2015 The beauty benefits of
dark chocolate It is a well known fact that chocolate has become one of the most
popular food types and flavors nowadays. However, many people tend to forget its
origin. Generally, chocolate is made from cacao beans harvested from cacao trees
in Central and South America together with parts of Asia. The beans are then
roasted and crushed into a paste. There is a variety of ways to use chocolate. Cocoa
butter, which is used in cosmetics and beauty treatments, is made of removed part of
the fat from the paste. When it comes to baking, people use the remaining paste
called chocolate liqueur to make bitter chocolate (or unsweetened baking chocolate).
There is no surprise that chocolate is chosen to be one of the richest ingredients used
in the industry of beauty. Many types of research have proved that chocolate has a lot
of elements that benefit our health both inside and outside, and the chocolate type
that stands out the most is undoubtedly dark chocolate. One cannot talk about this
chocolate without talking about its health benefits. A good dark chocolate is one
with a high cocoa content in it. Dark chocolate has no milk in it; this gives it a rich
brown color. The content of sugar varies making it either sweet, bitter or semisweet.
We have often seen statements like 30%, 75%, or 80% dark chocolate. These
percentages signify the cocoa content in the chocolate, which attributes to the

The main objective of this paper is to propose an on demand QoS routing
algorithm. Since the requirements for various applications may vary time to time,
the approach for QoS routing may not be proactive. The proposed approach has
two phases namely route discovery phase and route maintenance phase. When a
source node has to pass data to a destination node with QoS requirements it starts
with the route discovery phase. Once the route is found, the data transfer will take
place. While data transmission is going on, it is also required to maintain the path
to the destination. This is very much desirable and required in mobile ad hoc
networks and hence is done in the route maintenance phase. Introduction In Mobile

and online/offline status are continuously apprise to user s online buddies. A
mobile ubiquity services is an important element of cloud computing environments,
for the reason it keeps an up to date list of presence information of mobile user. If
presence updates occur often the number of messages distributed by presence

mobile presence services. To overcome the scalability problem proposed an efficient
and ascendable server architecture called presence cloud. It organizes the presence

reason for building the company was to have a place where could house all of his

came to both aspects of his person. With his accumulation of many businesses and the
numerous inventions coming out of the Edison Electric Light Company, Edison
decided in 1890 to combine the two aspects of all his workshops and businesses into

in 1892 Edison merged with his primary competitors to form the General Electric

38. Social Norms
Introduction
Social norms are powerful to the point that they influence the actions of all who are
members of society. Social norms are so ingrained in most people that to not follow
such untold rules of behavior, likely creates serious tension for oneself. Social
norms appear to be unique to sentient life meaning something about intelligence
helps in their formation and propagation. It is obvious that some level of greater
intelligence is needed in the formation of social norms. There are many theories on
the purpose of social norms and how they come to be. The theory that emphasizes
the importance of social norms in improving interactions between people seems the
most probable. This theory explains that those with diverse backgrounds must often
interact and communicate with each other and to reduce the risk of
misunderstanding, social norms arise as a form of mediation. Social norms can
therefore come into being both formally or informally. When social norms are
constructed formally, a group of individuals will specifically outline a set of
behavioral expectations for that group such as in the case of clubs or work
expectations. Most social norms are informally created through repeated cautionary
actions used to mitigate potential conflict. When a social norm is formed, it has
incredible staying power. As social norms promote some degree of social cohesion,
people generally follow social norms for fear of inconveniencing someone or
upsetting them. There is also a degree of

Children look up to parents as their role models and influencers, however
sometimes they do not fulfill these roles. Goodnight Mister Tom is a novel set in
England in 1939 at the start of World War 2. The author, Michelle Magorian, tells a
story through this world event about a young child who is evacuated to the country
at the anticipation of the war. The child, William Beech, is sent away by his abusive
mother in London to the small country town of Little Weirwold to live with a

of parental figures on a growing child. This is explored through the characteristics of

The baby was described as smelly and she had tape on her mouth to stop her from
trying to get attention as Mrs Beech claimed that the baby also needed to learn
discipline. She also has a warped view of Will and the kind of person he is, shown
when he brings home gifts from Little Weirwold and she accuses him of begging
for it or stealing it. She also accuses Will of being full of sin although it is obvious
that he is polite and kind to others. When Will came back from the country healthier
and more confident than she remembered, she believed that she had to silence him
into obedience and was scared that he had threatened her authority . We can see that
she is very insecure about her role in society and as a mother. Mrs Beech is a bad
parent is clearly unfit for bringing up children.
Tom Oakley is a kind man who cares for and loves Will and is a positive role model
for him. He is a healthy, strong old man who lives in the country town of Little
Weirwold. The description of Tom s physical appearance already tells us that he can
take care of himself and is probably more reliable as a parent figure. William Beech
ends up being placed in his care when he is evacuated from London. Tom lives in a
graveyard near a church, and is only asked to care for Will because of this. It is
revealed that Tom lives where he does because his dead wife and child are buried
there and he has a hard time letting go of them. Ironically, his child was also called

The Butterfly Life Cycle
According to National Geographic the four generations of these butterflies are
constituted by 4 separate butterflies that complete the 4 unique phases in just one
year. After this, they restart the same cycle, commencing with the primary stage of
the first generation.
Stage 1
February and March: Locate a mate and search for an ideal place to lay their eggs
Stage 2
March April: They lay their eggs on the leaves of milkweed plants. The larvae eat,
grow and metamorphose into chrysalis.
Stage 3
May June: The third generation butterflies live out a life cycle like the first
generation. They then perish about fifteen days after metamorphosing into
spectacular adult butterflies.
Stage 4
This generation repeats the processes the other generations of Monarch butterflies
underwent, but with the one crucial difference of traveling to California through
Mexico to enjoy the warmer climate there. They live for six to eight months until they
again get ready to undertake the return.
The Migration
How these butterflies take a particular direction for migration is an unsolved
mystery of our generation. They fly at speeds ranging between 12 to 25 miles an
hour. Similar to the migrating birds, the monarch butterflies use the clear advantage
of updrafts of warm air, called thermals and glide as they migrate, to preserve the
energy required for flapping their

children.

Usually, there are two kinds of children television shows, live action shows and
cartoons. There has emerged research, which argued that viewing television cartoons
could have immediate negative effects on young children s cognitive function
including self regulation and working memory (Lillard and Peterson, 2011).
Therefore, watching cartoons is not a good idea to entertain children. There is
increased concern that increased exposure to television has a negative impact on the
cognitive development of a child. It has been linked to late language development and
the development of attention disorders (Landhuis, Poulton, Welch Hancox, 2007). A
majority of studies conducted on the impact of television have not compared different
types of content.
According to the CDC, the number of children getting ADHD is rising rapidly
(CDC, 2015). Correspondingly, research has indicated that there is an increasing
number of children watching cartoons such as SpongeBob , Bob s burgers and The
Simpsons. Most of the parents are extremely worried about the impact of the content
that their children watch on television because of warning from research findings.
They are also worried about the children live action shows such as Kid Nation,

In 2013, 13 percent of the U.S. population was foreign born. Current projections
suggest that by 2065, nearly one in five people in the United States will have been
born outside the country (Hing 25).3 Immigration has been an integral part of the
United States since its colonial days. Over a million legal and illegal immigrants take
up residence in the United States each year. With the country struggling to support the
huge intake of new comers, life in America has been suffering tremendously. The
excessive stress put upon the welfare system, overuse of the family reunification
laws, and the exploitation of employment based immigration are reasons for
immigration reform. The American Government is trying to solve the deep rooted
problems of immigration including the 1965 law, Chain immigration, and Latino
immigration.
Some factors from the past are widely responsible for the present immigration
problems in the United States. A major cause for all of the problems is the 1965
Immigration and Nationality Act. The 1965 Immigration law prioritized the
relatives of U.S. citizens, while others were not able to settle in U.S. (Salam 24).2
The biased national origin quotas of 1920s was replaced by the 1965 law, which
focused on family unification ( Hing 25).4 This Act has kept some restrictions for the
immigration from Europe and Asia. The law set numerical restrictions on visas at
170,000 per year. But, this law has
43. The Counter Culture Movement
The Counter Culture Movement was one of the most memorable social movements
of the United States and it still has an impressive impact on the American Lifestyle
today. The Counter Culture movement meant a lot more than young, middle classed
Americans wanting to rebel, even though that did play a big part. This particular
movement changed music, social values, political agendas, wars, and religions that
have changed the hearts and minds of American citizens for generations to come.
Most of the events of the changes of the listed above are still referenced and used for
reasoning in history and military strategies and agendas today. Lasting from 1964 to
1972 it contained controversy from the war in Vietnam, race relations, women s
rights, concerns... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Religion was one of the most important controversies of that time. When America was
founded its laws and principles were based off the teachings of Christianity, now the
constitution did state that the citizens had the right to believe in which ever religion
they wanted to believe in, but many conservatives were upset about the upcoming
changes that came vastly toward religion in American society. Many people were
converting to Buddhism, Hinduism, and the religions of worshipping nature and
becoming one with the earth and universe. This would just keep adding to the
controversies of that
44. The Constitution Of Nepal 2015
Imagine how would you feel if you waited for something for decades but, when it
arrived, some of your brothers and sisters did not like it.Excitement and frustration
simultaneously.
That is the predicament which the Nepali people have been feeling today. The
people waited for 65 years for a constitution written by their elected representatives.
Such a charter Constitution of Nepal 2015 has been finally promulgated today, on 20
September. Most people seem happy but some are clearly agitated.
The country had waited for this day since 1950. At the time of removing Rana
oligarchy, King Tribhuvan had promised to call elections for a constituent assembly
to draft a new constitution. But that did not transpire. Kings gifted the statute ... Show

The second assembly, elected in 2013, has been able to sort out the issue providing
for seven states, though not to everyone s liking.
Five things put pressure on Nepali leaders to deliver the constitution this time around.
First, the Nepali Congress Party and the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), which
preferred a few multi ethnic states, secured nearly two thirds majority in the assembly
and formed a coalition government with smaller parties, enhacing their strength
further. Thus they had the number and confidence to sail the charter to the finish line.
Second, bothPrime Minister Sushil Koirala and UML leader KP Oli were
personally men in a hurry. The ailing Koirala wanted to promulgate the statute on his
watch. The ailing Oli wanted to become premier before his health marred his
ambition. Therefore, Koirala and Oli promised support to each other to realize their
respective ambitions, as quickly as possible.
Third, the devastating chain quakes and aftershocks in April and May this year they
killed nearly 10,000 people, destroyed nearly 7 billion rupees worth of property and
affected one third of the country s population spurred the coalition to accelerate the
pace. It became absurd for them to quibble over the fine prints of the charter at a time
when the people and country cried for relief and reconstruction in the wake of the
natural calamity.
Fourth, the Maoist leader
45. Neil Gaiman s Stardust
Neil Gaiman s Stardust is known to be a charming fairy tale that is within the
tradition of The Neverending Story and The Princess Bride. Neil Gaiman tells the
story of Tristan thorn who is love with a girl considered to be the prettiest in the
town. Tristan makes a foolish promise to the girl by telling her that he would find
the falling star that they had watched flashes across the night sky (Gaiman 1999).
The girls promise that she would marry Tristan and this motivates him to go out and
search for it by leaving his home of Wall. He heads out to a perilous land where
most things are not as they seem to appear (Gaiman 1999). Gaiman present his
fanciful wit, wildly imaginative plots and sterling prose which are manifested in
Stardust. Gaiman has used some silver tongued narration which vividly brings

However, this is not the case when Gaiman is concerned as he is able to create a
successful sparkling fairy tale within Stardust. Giaman reworks the commonly
understood fairy tale using some slight wink towards the readers through the use
of beautiful prose, a mesh of ethereal and grotesque and some likable characters.
Gaiman is able to produce a likable adult fairy tale book through mixing of
romance, humor, airy fairiness, and grisly realism within a tight little plot.
However, to get a feel of all this mixes up of different entities within the book, the
reader need to read about two thirds of the book in order to get a feel of what
Gaiman is trying to present to the reader (Campbell Niffenegger 2003). This make
the book quite a confusing book at the start as the reader might mot well understand
the true nature of the book. Hence for readers who are always expectant to find a
catchy topic of element within the first pages of the book, this book might have some
