Hass petroleum (K) Ltd is a regional Petroleum company involved in the importation, marketing
and distribution of Petroleum products in Kenya and in the region (Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania,
Rwanda, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo).

Responsibilities: • Directly responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Marketing
Department.

• Successfully analysed and compiled tender documents that led to Hass petroleum winning the
Bujagali power plant tenders for supply of Diesel and lubricants to Jinja., the largest Diesel
supply tender in the country in 2008. Successfully managed the contract between October
2008 to May 2010. Monthly volume was up to 2 million litres per month with a monthly
turnover of over KES 160 Million.
• Successfully oversaw the acquisition of 18 retails sites previously owned by Pearl Oil Uganda,
which led to more brand visibility and increased volume and profitability.
• Successfully managed sales teams of 14 in Hass, comprised of marketers in retail, commercial
and exports business segments and Customer Service and achieved company targets.

TOTAL KENYA LTD is a market leader in the importation, marketing and distribution of
Petroleum products in Kenya.
September 2006 to April 2008
Post: Territory Manager – Consumer and Lubricants
Responsibilities: • Was in-charge of a portfolio of Consumer Customers’ accounts with monthly sales turnover of
over KES 1Billion. Customers included companies in Power Sector, Manufacturing, Food
Processing, Textile, Hospitality and Hotel industry, Health Care, Transport and Logistics,
Construction and Agri-business. Was responsible for positively influencing the customers on
the good image of Total Group.
• Actively managed key accounts to enhance relationship with customers thereby creating
customer satisfaction and loyalty through regular contact with representatives of key
customers through visits, phone calls, follow up of queries, meetings and marketing events and
proper transmission of invoices and various account statements to ensure proper customer
account administration.
• Sale of bulk fuels and lubricants to generate revenue and profits and meet set volume and
profit targets. Involved in carrying out Lubes surveys in liaison with Lubes Specialist and
advising the customers on the appropriate products for their equipment/technologies. Also
involved in presenting new products and services developed by Total and checking the
regularity of orders.
• Prospecting for and following up new customers and opening new customer accounts to
increase sales revenues and profits. This included visits to prospective new customers and
preparation of tender documents to capture new business.
• Management of key customers through contracts to ensure guaranteed business continuity.
Actively involved in preparation of the necessary elements required for signing a contract with
a new customers.
• Debt management and ensuring adherence to credit terms. Responsible for ensuring timely
collection of payments and active participation in credit control meetings with Management to
review adherence to set credit terms.
• In conjunction with the Credit Control Manager, actively involved in risk assessment and
management. Involved in the evaluation of the credit worthiness of existing and new
customers by looking for any information that will provide an accurate assessment of the
involved financial risks.
• Actively involved in drafting departmental annual budgets and setting priorities for volumes,
margins.
• Carrying out market intelligence surveys and analysis of competitors, to ascertain the
customer demands and market trends and advise management appropriately.
• Actively involved in the pricing build-up and onward communication to customers.
• Actively involved in the implementation of the company Health Safety Environment and
Quality policies and ensuring strict adherence by customers. Was section focal point for
coordinating Safety Audits for Consumer sites and regular training of customers on Safety and
Quality issues.
• Undertaking profitability studies before capital expenditure on equipment.
• In conjunction with Operations Department, actively involved in monthly stock takes for
major consignment stock customers.

• Successfully co-ordinated and oversaw the transformation of East African Maltings (part of
the EABL Group, a major customer) into a consignment stock site in May 2007. This led to
more efficient management of stock for the customer.

Monthly volume was up to 2 million litres per month with a monthly turnover of over KES 160 Million. • Successfully oversaw the acquisition of 18 retails sites previously owned by Pearl Oil Uganda, which led to more brand visibility and increased volume and profitability. • Successfully managed sales teams of 14 in Hass, comprised of marketers in retail, commercial and exports business segments and Customer Service and achieved company targets. TOTAL KENYA LTD TOTAL KENYA LTD is a market leader in the importation, marketing and distribution of Petroleum products in Kenya. September 2006 to April 2008 Post: Territory Manager – Consumer and Lubricants Responsibilities: • Was in-charge of a portfolio of Consumer Customers’ accounts with monthly sales turnover of over KES 1Billion. Customers included companies in Power Sector, Manufacturing, Food Processing, Textile, Hospitality and Hotel industry, Health Care, Transport and Logistics, Construction and Agri-business. Was responsible for positively influencing the customers on the good image of Total Group. • Actively managed key accounts to enhance relationship with customers thereby creating customer satisfaction and loyalty through regular contact with representatives of key customers through visits, phone calls, follow up of queries, meetings and marketing events and proper transmission of invoices and various account statements to ensure proper customer account administration. • Sale of bulk fuels and lubricants to generate revenue and profits and meet set volume and profit targets. Involved in carrying out Lubes surveys in liaison with Lubes Specialist and advising the customers on the appropriate products for their equipment/technologies. Responsible for ensuring timely collection of payments and active participation in credit control meetings with Management to review adherence to set credit terms. • In conjunction with the Credit Control Manager, actively involved in risk assessment and management.
