This document discusses postinfantile giant cell hepatitis (PIGCH), a rare form of giant cell hepatitis that can present in adults. Only around 100 cases have been reported worldwide. PIGCH is typically associated with autoimmune disorders, viral infections like hepatitis C, or drug exposures. Histopathological examination showing multinucleated giant hepatocytes is required for diagnosis. The case report then describes an instance of PIGCH in an adult male presenting at NLI that was not associated with any known triggers. Further evaluation found evidence of extrahepatic biliary obstruction which resolved with stenting. This represents an atypical presentation of PIGCH without clear associations.
