Germany has a population of 81.7 million people and its capital city is Berlin. The Rhine River runs for over 1,232 kilometres through Germany and is an important part of the country's economy, with many large cities located along its banks. The Black Forest region is a mountainous wooded area bordered by the Rhine River, known for skiing and Black Forest cake. The Bavarian Alps along Germany's southern border are part of the European Alps and contain the country's highest point, the 2,963 meter Zugspitze peak.

4. The Rhine is a vital part of Germany’s economy with many large cities such as
Speyer, Cologne, Mannheim, Bonn Dusseldorf and Koblenz are located along
this river.
Above is a picture of the port at Mannheim. In 2005, 8.1 millions tonnes of
freight were loaded and unloaded in the port and 20,000 people are employed
through different businesses based around the port.

wooded mountain range in Baden-
Württemberg, southwestern Germany. It is bordered
by the Rhine valley to the west and south

7. It is a very mountainous region and its highest mountain peak is
called the Feldberg with an elevation of 1,493 metres (4,898 ft).
Skiing is very popular here.
This area has also been made famous by a cake that comes from
the region called Black Forest Gataeux

9. The Bavarian Alps , found along Germanys southern boundary
with are part of the Alps, the largest mountain system in Europe.
They rise more than 1800 metres (6000 foot). The highest point in
all of Germany the 2963 metres (9721 foot) peak Zugspitze can be
