This was actually unintentional, however we believe that most of the people that will watch our documentary will be female as it is more of a topic that interests them.
- 3. QUESTION 2: HOW OLD ARE YOU? How old are you? Under 15 16-18 Above 18 Most of the people that I asked to complete my questionnaire were between 16 and 18. This was probably a bit too young for my target audience as it is likely older people will be watching our documentary. When we do our real questionnaire as a group I will chose to give mine to an older generation as it they will fit my target audience better.

Channel 4 National Geographic BBC ITV The most popular TV channel from the ones I gave as options was BBC. BBC is a channel that airs various different shows from different backgrounds. The channel does not have adverts which is another reason why it may be so popular. What is your favourite documentary out of the ones below? 102 minutes that changed America My big fat gypsy wedding Catfish Natural world 102 minutes was the most chosen from this question – which I thought would have been the case. This documentary is extremely interesting to watch however at the same time is it very sad and emotional. It talk about the seriousness of the 9/11 and contains real unseen footage. I can see why this was most chosen as it is on such a serious and real topic which was a tragedy for many. Natural world was the only one that no one chose –

QUESTION 7: DO YOU PREFER TO WATCH EXPOSITORY DOCUMENTARIES OR OBSERVATIONAL ONES? 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 Expository: exposing a person or a topic Observational: observing a person or a topic Do you prefer to watch expository documentaries or observational ones? I thought that expository would get exceptionally more ticks/crosses as I believe that it is much more interesting to expose a topic other than just observe and watch it. However, both were chosen an equal amount of times. This shocked me but meant that I now know both observational and expository are popular and could be possible modes for my documentary final piece.

Michael Moore Louis Theroux Nick Broomfield Louis Theroux is one of the most well-known and popular documentarians who has produced and taken part in a number of famous documentarians. When me and my group are making our documentary final piece we will watch Louis Theroux’s stylistic devices to help us get ideas of what would be good to include.

I think a documentary should only be an hour. I agree with the majority of the choices that were made. 30 minutes and/or under is not really long enough to include all the information and things a good documentary needs. Over 1 hour could be too long for a documentary and it could start to bore the audience who are watching it.

Love A tragic incident Education Teenagers Cars University life A tragic incident seems to be the most chosen in this question. This is most likely because it is the most realistic and heart felt from the options I gave. I agree that I would most want to watch something like that to educate me about something that can happen in real life and have serious devastating consequences.
