GENERAL
BIOLOGY
ASHLEY
DANGARANG
Biology is the scientific study of life.
It is a natural science with a broad
scope but has several unifying
themes that tie it together as a
single, coherent field. For instance,
all organisms are made up of cells
that process hereditary information
encoded in genes, which can be
transmitted to future generations.
BIOLOGY
An animal (plural: animals) refers to any of
the eukaryotic multicellular organisms of
the biological kingdom Animalia. Animals of
this kingdom are generally characterized to
be heterotrophic, motile, having specialized
sensory organs, lacking a cell wall, and
growing from a blastula during embryonic
development.
04 Conclusions
ANIMAL (ZOOLOGY)
World Animal Day, sometimes referred
to as world Animal Welfare Day or
World Animal Protection Day is an
annual event on the 4th of October,
celebrating animal rights and welfare
across the globe.
DID YOU KNOW?
The study of plantsBotany, branch of
biology that deals with the study of
plants, including their structure,
properties, and biochemical processes.
Also included are plant classification
and the study of plant diseases and of
interactions with the environment.
PLANT (BOTANY)
-A sunflower is not just one flower.
-Chloroplast is unique to plant cells.
-Plants are multicellular eukaryotes.
DID YOU KNOW?
Microbiology is the scientific study of
microorganisms, those being of unicellular,
multicellular, or acellular. Microbiology
encompasses numerous sub-disciplines
including virology, bacteriology,
protistology, mycology, immunology, and
parasitology.
MICROORGANISM
(MICROBIOLOGY)
Your body is composed of 10 trillion human
cells, but is host to around 100 trillion
bacterial cells. Your body bacteria cells
outnumber your own human cells ten to
one.
DID YOU KNOW?
Most living things need food, water, light,
temperatures within certain limits, and air. Living
things have a variety of characteristics that are
displayed to different degrees: they respire, move,
respond to stimuli, reproduce and grow, and are
dependent on their environment.VV
LIVING THINGS
LIVING THINGS:
-gather and use energy for survival
-reproduce and continue life on Earth-
adopting and evolving on Earth
-interact with the environment
