Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach lining that can be acute or chronic. Acute gastritis is usually caused by infection like H. pylori and presents with abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. If not treated, it can progress to chronic gastritis. Chronic gastritis involves long-term inflammation that can lead to atrophy and intestinal metaplasia over time. It is classified as type A, which primarily involves the stomach body, or type B, which is antrum-predominant and usually linked to H. pylori infection. Type A gastritis is sometimes autoimmune while type B improves after H. pylori eradication. Treatment depends on the underlying cause but
