California Brodiaea is a native perennial herb that produces star-shaped lavender flowers in late spring. It grows 1-2 feet tall and wide, with strap-like green leaves and corms that die back after blooming. The flowers attract hummingbirds and make a nice cut flower. California Brodiaea is easy to grow in full sun or part shade, adapting to most soil types, and only needs water until blooming. It requires little care and makes a lovely addition to gardens, edging paths, or containers.
