This document discusses gamification and how it can be used to increase engagement. It defines gamification as taking the best parts of games and applying them to other contexts to improve engagement. It discusses psychological motivators for why people play games and provides examples of how associations and businesses have successfully used gamification techniques like trivia games, conference apps, and achievement badges. The document also outlines Yu-kai Chou's eight core drivers of gamification that motivate users: meaning, development, creativity, ownership, social influence, scarcity, unpredictability, and loss avoidance.

Enterprise Gamification as Methodology to Promote Employee EngagementPatrick Bartl
Talent development as well as employee engagement and commitment are the most important workforce challenges for enterprises today. The majority of employees in the Western world are either indifferent or unengaged. Social science suggests that employee motivation drives employee engagement which in turn drives customer satisfaction and loyalty. This means that employee engagement has a direct impact on the performance. Companies with high sustainable engagement achieve the threefold operating margin compared to companies with low traditional engagement. Enterprise gamification offers a solution to promote engagement across the company.
Gaming in general is for everybody. This is mainly driven by the digitalization and evolution of video games. The democratic shift entails generations of digital natives that grow up with games. Gaming is therefore omnipresent in their lives. However, gamification is not a form of pure fun at work or a video game on top of work. Gamification aims to leverage the ludic drive of humans embedded in a state-of-the-art technological environment. It is defined as the use of game mechanics and experience design in a non-game context to (digitally) engage and motivate employees to achieve their objectives and in turn meet aligned organizational goals. This can help to move a significant part of the indifferent employees into the group of engaged to highly engaged employees.
Workforce Engagement Management Masterclass: Conquering CX Through Workforce ...Aggregage

Digital Transformation - Learning & Development Research Report - October 2020Dee Hutchinson
A high level survey of Learning and Development functions in relation to the progress, challenges and areas of focus in relation to Digital Transformation.
We live and work in a fully integrated world. So do our clients and colleagues. Yet in marketing, there is still a tendency to separate all things digital – a viewpoint that’s becoming increasingly costly, both in tangible bottom-line costs and lost opportunities.
First, it creates operational and financial inefficiencies – overlap of roles, duplicated efforts, wasted time and dollars.
What’s even worse is that when marketing strategies are implemented in silos, it results in a fragmented message, inconsistent image, confused audiences, and overall significantly reduced impact of your firm’s communications.
By any measure, this is bad marketing!

3.11.15 Final: What is digital transformation?Acquia
On March 11.2015, representatives from leading Associations in the United States gathered to hear from a panel including speakers from Acquia, Balance Interactive and Sapient. Following the discussion, a roadmap of "next steps" had been developed to help construct a digital strategy for attendees and registrants.
Earlier in the year, we talked about the importance of creating customer communities, but once you've done this and you're community is scaling, how do you manage? Should you outsource your community the same way people outsource their call centers? Your community manager and their team make up the face and voice of your brand. They possess a combination of marketing, PR, and customer support, with social skills to support these roles. They're usually the first to notice negative comments about your company and its products and services. They can usually alleviate issues before they spread and know which subject matter experts can help. They're also the ones announcing new features and accomplishments, and engaging customers and prospects with relevant, quality content with a human touch.
In this webinar, we'd like to talk about the pros and cons of outsourcing the management of customer community, as opposed to keeping this task in-house. Please join our panel of experts to discuss:
-The levels of community management service.
-The most common mistakes employers make when hiring for outsourcing
-Things to consider before outsourcing any aspect of community management.
-Which roles can be outsourced and the benefits of this.
-How to find a trusted partner for your community.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.
8. 2. Development and Accomplishment
Development and accomplishment is the second driver that represents the internal drive of
making progress, overcoming challenges and developing skills. It’s important to add that a
trophy or badge without a challenge is not meaningful. This core driver is also the easiest to
design with leaderboards, badges and points.
3. Empowerment of Creativity and Feedback
The third driver allows the person to feel engaged via a creative process where they need to
figure things out as well as using a variety of combinations. People like to express their
creativity along with receiving positive reinforcement along the way by feedback and other
forms of expression.
4. Ownership and Possession
The ownership and possession driver relates to keeping the user motivated through allowing
them to own something. This also relates to the need to improve, protect and to gain more
such as learning math or accumulating wealth. It also leads to virtual goods within systems,
for example if a person takes time to design and choose a profile or avatar they automatically
feel ownership towards it. It is the driver that makes collecting points, stamps ov even puzzle
pieces fun.
5. Social Influence and Relatedness
The fifth driver is all about social influence and relatedness focusing on elements such as;
social responses, mentorship, acceptance, companionship as well as competition and envy.
When you see a friend or family member that is good at something it makes you want to
improve your own skills. The driver also draws people, places or related events closer to you.
If a product or ad you see reminds you of childhood or another memory it increases the odds
of you purchasing the item. This is a well studied subject and companies are now focusing
their advertising and social media strategies on.
6. Scarcity and Impatience
The driver creating something that you want but you can’t have it. Games have this when you
unlock something to get to the next level you have to wait a certain amount of time before you
can resume playing, this is a great way to motivate people and keep them wanting to come
back. Facebook used this theory when they first released it only allowing Harvard students to
play then opening up to other colleges and finally to everyone, encouraging more people to
sign up where they couldn't have previously.

10. ● Does it require a lot of internal resources to manage successfully?
How to Implement
What sort of internal resourcing is needed to manage gamification?
There is a few decisions that need to be made to in order to effectively manage gamification.
1. Goals need to be set what journey do you want to take people on, what do you
want to achieve
2. Construct a point scoring and reward methodology
3. Use as much automation as possible
4. determine what reports are needed to measure goal achievement
5. Do you want to use software as a service (SaaS) which is entirely cloud based
without the need for custom software or hardware, access from internet
connected device.
No extra internal resources are needed if your gamification processes are mostly automated,
as well as minimal management requirements when your processes are in place such as
rewards systems. The software is designed to track users and depending on when they reach
a new level the system will automatically boost them up to the next level. Leaderboards and
rewards should all be automated and the management would only need to oversee the
system is correct and ‘Joe’ is in fact the true leader, as well as some other minor approvals
that would need human approval. All tracking can be done from within the CRM and staff
members can view reports at any stage, which will appear in real time with the most up to
date and accurate data.
However, a lot of planning and testing of the system would be needed at the initial stages to
ensure it is all working correctly and as expected before the system is available to your
members.
Costs Involved
Having a gamified website is not free, as the software needs to be designed and configured
and this depends on any additional customisation requirements needed. There are initial
costs to configure and setup depending on the software but there should be no ongoing
costs.
