The Willamette Pedestrian Coalition is a nonprofit organization founded in 1991 dedicated to promoting walking. They conducted studies of resident surveys, jurisdiction interviews, and neighborhood case studies to develop an Action Plan. The plan identifies 12 key findings to make neighborhoods more walkable, such as providing safe crossings, closing sidewalk gaps, and engaging communities. It recommends actions for transportation planning, design, funding, and partnerships to prioritize pedestrian infrastructure and access.
