5. Battery or generator?
• Like batteries, fuel cells produce power
from a chemical reaction
• Unlike batteries, fuel cells process fuel to
provide power

6. Differing technologies
1. All combine hydrogen and oxygen to
produce electricity, heat and water
2. Many differing technologies & fuel types
3. Some are more advanced than others
4. All have actual or potential niche benefits

7. The UK Market
• Currently in an ‘early adopters’ stage
• High levels of interest in product offering
• Estimates suggest market may be $1bn by 2020
• Erroneously seen as “future technology” currently
not available to businesses
• Forecast is of very high potential
for FC development
