This document is a Nonresident Withholding Allocation Worksheet (Form 587) used to determine if withholding of income tax is required for payments made by a withholding agent to a nonresident vendor/payee. The vendor/payee provides information about the types of payments received and allocation of income between California and other states. The withholding agent uses this information to determine if withholding of 7% is required based on the amount of California-source income payments exceeding $1,500.
