The document discusses ways to automate and improve a front-end development workflow. It recommends using tools like Grunt, Bower, Yeoman, and generators to automate repetitive tasks like linting, compiling assets, running tests, and deploying code. These tools can help reduce boilerplate code and improve productivity. It also suggests configuring the development environment with tools like Sublime Text, Chrome DevTools, and simulators/emulators to enhance debugging and cross-device testing. The overall message is that automating workflows and choosing the right tools allows developers to work more efficiently and focus on creative work.
After consulting with several companies on performance related issues, it became clear that one of the biggest performance issues facing websites today is the sheer amount of JavaScript needed to power the page. The demand for more interactive and responsive applications has driven JavaScript usage through the roof. It’s quite common for large sites to end up with over 1 MB of JavaScript code on their page even after minification. But do today’s web applications really need that much JavaScript?

High Performance JavaScript - WebDirections USA 2010Nicholas Zakas
Ever wonder why the page appears frozen or why you get a dialog saying, “this script is taking too long”? Inside of the browser, JavaScript and the page’s UI are very intertwined, which means they can affect each other and, in turn, affect overall page performance. Ensuring the fastest execution time of JavaScript code isn’t about geek cred, it’s about ensuring that the user experience is as fast and responsive as possible. In a world where an extra second can cost you a visitor, sluggishness due to poor JavaScript code is a big problem. In this talk, you’ll learn what’s going on inside the browser that can slow JavaScript down and how that can end up creating a “slow page”. You’ll also learn how to overcome the conspiracy against your code by eliminating performance bottlenecks.

When I arrived at Credit Karma I needed to find and connect with people from different teams across multiple projects and verticals.
The problem was that there was no good way to accomplish this except by talking to as many people at the company as possible to find out about the different roles and groups working on things. I decided I needed a way to search for people in order to speed up my workflow.
This resulted in the design and implementation of a pet project called Aura. This presentation is about the process of creating Aura and how it gathered a cult following of support at Credit Karma. I will be covering the problem space, the technology and the methods of winning mind share that led to the execution of the project. This includes React, Electron, Firebase and a host of other libraries and services that allowed Aura to be built over some weekends without the need of a server.

Modern Web Application Development Workflow - EclipseCon France 2014Stéphane Bégaudeau
People often consider that creating a web application is done by creating a bunch of HTML, Javascript and CSS files in a text editor, putting them in a folder and uploading them on the web.
Well, things have changed and in this presentation, you will see how the workflow used to deliver web applications has evolved over the past few years and where the Eclipse Foundation's tools stand in this new world!
In this talk, we will start by having a look at all the new development tools that have appeared with the arrival of Node.js and how they are used by the web development community.
With tools like Bower used to manage the dependencies of a project, Grunt and Gulp used for the continuous integration and Yeoman used to kickstart web applications, web developers have dramatically increased their productivity.
After that, we will see what tools like the Eclipse IDE and Orion can offer to web developers in order to build and maintain their applications and finally how they could be improved to provide the features needed by web developers.
Cool like a Frontend Developer: Grunt, RequireJS, Bower and other ToolsRyan Weaver
Bower, Grunt, and RequireJS are just a few tools that have been re-shaping the frontend development world, replacing cluttered script tags and server-side build solutions with a sophisticated, but sometimes complex approach to dependency management and module loading. In this talk, we'll put on our trendy frontend developer hat and find out how these tools work and how they differ from what we might be used to. Most important, we'll see how using tools like this might look in Symfony2 and how our application can be a friendly place for a frontend guy/gal.
AngularJS is a popular JavaScript framework. It is intended to make the implementation of RIA (Rich Internet Applications) easier and convenient. AngularJS is created and maintained by Google. It is relatively, a new JavaScript framework, which is designed to make the front-end development as simple as possible. AngularJS is a useful tool for standardizing the web application structure and it provides a future template to ensure that the client-side applications are developed much effectively.
This document by RapidValue is written by Gourav Ajmani, Technical Lead, who has been working on AngularJS for a while, and has read many tutorials and blogs on it. According to Gourav, he could never find any article which gives a clear, concise and step-by-step guide to create the project structure and execute the project. So, he has written this document which will help you to create the Project structure and then execute it in a simple manner.

Modern Web Application Development Workflow - EclipseCon US 2014Stéphane Bégaudeau
People often consider that creating a web application is done by creating a bunch of HTML, Javascript and CSS files together in a text editor and uploading them on the web.
Well, things have changed and in this presentation, you will see how the workflow used to deliver web applications has evolved over the past few years!
We will start by seeing how you can use Yeoman and its generators to kickstart your project. Then you will see how Bower let you manage the dependencies of your project. Downloading the JavaScript and CSS frameworks that you are using for you. After that we will have a look at Chrome Devtools in order to debug and edit our application. We will also see how to use remote debugging to inspect a web application running on a phone or a tablet.
Finally we will see how you can set up your whole continuous integration workflow with Grunt. Compilation, static code analysis, unit tests, integration tests, minification, code coverage, you name it.

The Superhero’s Method of Modern HTML5 Development by RapidValue SolutionsRapidValue
There was a time, when we used to spend hours and hours, trying to fix the browser compatibility issues in our UI. If problems persisted, we ended up cursing the Internet Explorer at least once in a day. We were unable to learn anything new, because nothing “new” could give a better browser support. Today, a few years after the arrival of CSS3 & HTML5 things have changed for good. All the major browsers are stable and have started supporting all the essential properties of CSS3 & HTML5.
A new era has started and with each passing day, the front-end developers are getting more and more enlightened. Yes, the developers are portrayed as the 'superheroes'.
The whitepaper explains about various tools, plugins and automations in HTML5.
1. CSS Preprocessors
2. Emmet
3. Grunt
4. Bower
6. LiveReload
7. Yeoman generators
We are no longer completely dependent on the legacy browsers. We are taking initiatives to stretch further and develop everything that is possible with regards to the browser. By doing a lot of automation, you can avoid repeated mistakes, write in a clean and concise manner, and it becomes pretty easy to architect, maintain and extend the modular code. The life of an HTML5 developer is made pretty easy.

Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.
Water billing management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Our project entitled “Water Billing Management System” aims is to generate Water bill with all the charges and penalty. Manual system that is employed is extremely laborious and quite inadequate. It only makes the process more difficult and hard.
The aim of our project is to develop a system that is meant to partially computerize the work performed in the Water Board like generating monthly Water bill, record of consuming unit of water, store record of the customer and previous unpaid record.
We used HTML/PHP as front end and MYSQL as back end for developing our project. HTML is primarily a visual design environment. We can create a android application by designing the form and that make up the user interface. Adding android application code to the form and the objects such as buttons and text boxes on them and adding any required support code in additional modular.

A review on techniques and modelling methodologies used for checking electrom...nooriasukmaningtyas
The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.
We have compiled the most important slides from each speaker's presentation. This year’s compilation, available for free, captures the key insights and contributions shared during the DfMAy 2024 conference.
