Appearance Medium-sized animal Long, narrow snout Bushy tail also  called ‘ a brush ’ Range in weight depending on the species (8-10 pounds) 4 legs and 5 toes on each foot Like small slender dogs Large pointed ears
Habitat Red foxes - Asia ,Europe and the north parts of North America. Gray foxes – United States, Mexico, Central America and parts of South America. Wooded parts of cites  Farmlands Forests In family groups when young Adults live alone or in pairs Do not live in packs like wolves They have a den during winter Their dens can be underground, amongst rocks, in caves or in hollow logs or trees
Food/Diet Any animal they can catch Eat lots of rodents and especially like mice Hunt insects, frogs,  lizards, birds, also rabbits The remains if a dead animal They bury their un eaten food Hunt by night  They are skilful hunters Foxes also eat lots of fruit

Colour Come in different colours  Red Foxes – bright rusty  red, orange red, whitish fur on the belly Gray Foxes – fur that looks like salt and pepper mixed together, the under parts are whitish Sides of the neck, shoulders, legs and the underside of the tail are rust coloured Arctic Foxes – they are brown or grey in the summer but in winter are white
