Foxes live in underground dens and hunt alone for food like chickens, rabbits, and birds. They have whiskers on their face and legs to help navigate, and grey foxes can retract their claws. Foxes are generally solitary but will come together in large food sources like chicken coops. The red fox is remarkably resourceful, able to survive in many environments from subtropical to tundra.
