SOC presentation- Building a Security Operations CenterMichael Nickle
Presentation I used to give on the topic of using a SIM/SIEM to unify the information stream flowing into the SOC. This piece of collateral was used to help close the largest SIEM deal (Product and services) that my employer achieved with this product line.
Upgrade Your SOC with Cortex XSOAR & Elastic SIEMElasticsearch
Together, Cortex XSOAR and Elastic SIEM deliver a flexible and effective solution for today's security operations teams. Combining Cortex XSOAR's robust orchestration, automation, and case management capabilities with Elastic's open collection, search, and analytics abilities provides the comprehensive end-to-end strategy SOC teams need to gain visibility to stop threats.
Presented at NZISIG on Tuesday 26th February 2019.
"WPA3: What is it good for? (With a little bit of Bluetooth and a soupçon of GPS)"
I offered this talk to Purplecon but they didn't want it so you're getting it instead. Since it's been a few months I've added some other stuff on the end.
Overview of existing issues in WAP, WPA, WPA2 and WPS
Skateboarding dog story
WPA3 improvements:
- Password protection
- Preshared keys (Simultaneous Authentication of Equals - SAE)
- CNSA
- Opportunistic Wireless Encryption (OWE)
- Wifi Easy Connect
Bluetooth
- Direction finding
- End to end security
GPS
- 6th April could get interesting.

Does your business deal with confidential information?
Complete protection for inbound and outbound email communication. Messaging Security Gateway blocks unwanted and harmful messages, and eliminates the possibility of data leakage.
Filter incoming mails, hide and encrypt your emails, block leaks, communicate in private, and keep your secrets truly secret.
F-Secure Email and Server Security takes server protection to the same level as F-Secure Client Security, which has been rated by AV-TEST as providing the best protection in the world. The combination of email and server security in the same package, along with several performance improving features, makes the solution easier to install and maintain.
Webinar: Securing Remote Workforce on the Microsoft CloudWithum
With remote work being a reality for most, users expect to be able to connect to any resource, on any device, from anywhere in the world. Let’s face it – there is a growing realization that remote work is here to stay, so let’s do it right.
There are three critical areas that should be top of mind:
- How can we do remote work better?
- How can we maintain security?
- And, how can we reduce costs?
In this presentation, we share ideas and show tools in the Microsoft cloud for better remote work, better security and opportunity to reduce costs.
SAE 2014 - Cyber Security: Mission Critical for the Internet of CarsAndreas Mai
Connected vehicles are becoming rolling data centers. More attack surfaces expose vehicles to cyber threats that have become common in the IT industry. Connected vehicles will require an end-to-end security architecture spanning from chip level to cloud based security services that protect vehicles over the entire life cycle.
Being more secure using Microsoft 365 BusinessRobert Crane
Microsoft 365 Business provides a range of services to make both data and devices more secure. This webinar will take you through the range of what these services are, the best practices way in which they should be configured and how you can extend security further with additional Microsoft solutions.
Los ataques ocurren, cada dia. Es un factor que no podemos controlar, lo que sí está en nuestras manos es intentar tener nuestro entorno en la nube, protegido en todos los niveles posibles.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
DevOps and Testing slides at DASA ConnectKari Kakkonen
My and Rik Marselis slides at 30.5.2024 DASA Connect conference. We discuss about what is testing, then what is agile testing and finally what is Testing in DevOps. Finally we had lovely workshop with the participants trying to find out different ways to think about quality and testing in different parts of the DevOps infinity loop.
LF Energy Webinar: Electrical Grid Modelling and Simulation Through PowSyBl -...DanBrown980551
Do you want to learn how to model and simulate an electrical network from scratch in under an hour?
Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
What you will learn during the webinar:
- For beginners: discover PowSyBl's functionalities through a quick general presentation and the notebook, without needing any expert coding skills;
- For advanced developers: master the skills to efficiently apply PowSyBl functionalities to your real-world scenarios.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.
