By Sam Smith. All of the music videos use actors to portray the characters within them, with
the exception of the Maroon 5 video as the lead singer, Adam Levine plays a role in the music
video for Maps but he is a known actor as well as a singer.

In these music videos, the artists give a performance that is either a live performance or
lip syncing. This happens in Rude by Magic, All About That Bass by Megan Trainor, Counting
Stars by One Republic and Fancy by Iggy Azalea ft Charlie XCX.

4. Convention: Featured Artist
It is common for music videos to have the artist feature in them. This happens in Dark Horse
By Katy Perry ft Juicy J, Royals by Lorde, Drunk In Love by Beyonce and Burn by Ellie Goulding.
