Abstract:-
 The present work is the fabrication of a mini forklift robot that can
store and pick up object from specified storage. Currently, in
warehouse storage systems are mainly still done in traditional way
using human operator to store and pick goods into specified location.
 They made it possible for one person to move thousands kilograms at
once. This is the general description of a normal forklift . Forklifts are
most often used in warehouses, but some are meant to be used
outdoors.
2. Basicc principles/Concept
The weight of the truck itself counterbalances the load it’s
moving. You need to understand three principles, center of
gravity, load center, and the stability triangle.
 Stability triangle:
A lift truck has three points of suspension where the
stability triangle is formed. Unloaded the truck’s
center of gravity is generally under the driver, loaded
that center of balance shifts outward towards the edge
of the units triangle.
 Load center:
From the front of the forks on the lift truck to the
“center of gravity” of your load. Remember, if you
move your load away from the front face of the forks,
you impact the your trucks capacity.
Center of gravity:
The place where an object will balance on a single
point, not always is this in the middle of an object.
Shape of the object can change the position of the
center of gravity. When eying up your load, work to
understand where its center of gravity is, and center
that point directly over your forks.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:-
 To develop conceptual design of the model.
 To perform design & analysis.
 To perform cost analysis.
 To fabricate experiment setup.
 To make lifting and transporting cargoes easier.
 To Impart the simplest possible operation and mechanism.
 To prepare Bill of material.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:-
 Understand the basic principle of operation and design.
 Design the model to make lifting and transporting cargoes easier.
 Fabricate the model.
 Testing the effectiveness of the model & all the components.
LITERATURE REVIEW:-
The forklift can be defined as a tool capable of lifting hundreds of
kilograms of weight. A forklift is a vehicle similar to a small truck that
has two metal forks on the front used to lift cargo.Therefore a prototype
module is constructed for the demonstration purpose. This module
simulates the real working system & based on this technology with
slight changes in the structure & motor ratings, the system can be
converted for real applications. The method of converting rotary to
linear motion is implemented in the mechanism.
The forklift is one of the most frequently used material handling
equipment in industries and its ability to shift heavy loads efficiently
has led to its universal application with in manufacturing plants,
warehouses, and trade environments. These forklifts offer many benefits
such as reducing manual material handling and
enhancing productivity .
•ADVANTAGES
• HYDRAULIC FORKLIFT UTILIZES THE NON-
COMPRESSIBLE FLUID LIKE OIL FOR LIFTING THE
HEAVY LOADS WITH THE HELP OF HYDRAULIC
CYLINDER ARRANGEMENT, SO THERE IS NO FUEL
REQUIRED LIKE OTHER POWER OPERATED
FORKLIFTS.
• HYDRAULIC FORKLIFTS ARE THE MOST
ECONOMICAL SOLUTION FOR INDOOR AND
WAREHOUSE USES BECAUSE IT REQUIRES VERY
SMALL SPACE TO OPERATE.
 Disadvantages
According to the capacity and size of the forklift
limited weight is lifted.
The capacity of the hydraulic hand operated forklift is
limited to some 1.5- 3 ton.
Manually operated so long distance can not be
traveled.

COMPONENTS USED :-
 Base (chassis): The chassis is fabricated from Plywood sheet. This is
done for easy of fabrication, and to reduce the overall weight.
 Remote system : The forklift is equipped with 3 manual keys. By
activating these keys manually, all the movements can be created in
the forklift.
 Slider : Its a rectangular plate which is held between two vertical
channels of Aluminium which are free to slide up and down to lift
and lower the weight/load up to a desired limit.
 Counterweight : it is a mass attached to the rear of the forklift truck
frame. The purpose of the counterweight is to counterbalance the load
being lifted.

 Load lifting capacity 1500-2000 kg

 Distance between two forks 43 cm
 Fork width 10.5 cm
 Max. Lift height 10 cm
 Handle length 90 cm
 Gripping handle width 25 cm
APPLICATIONS :-
 Transport the goods from one place to another place.
 Storage the goods in specific storage.
 Shifting the cargoes in ships , trucks etc.
 There is hardly any industry where material handling is not require.
 The Hydraulics and other type of forklifts are the most economical solution
for all the industries and warehouses where material handling as well as
transportation of it at short distances is required.
 CONCLUSION
 The project work “ remote control mini forklift ” is aimed
to control through remote control designed. The advantage of
using this technology is to increase the safety of operator by
operating the forklift from certain distance. This increases the
efficiency of the productivity, because human errors due to
poor visibility can be minimized. The system is designed and
developed successfully, for the demonstration purpose
prototype module is constructed.
 After going through these collected data and statistics from
various journals as well as research papers, we came to
conclusion that remote controlled forklift is the only way to
stop such industrial issues like labour cost, hazardous
material handling.

  • 3. FORKLIFT Abstract:-  The present work is the fabrication of a mini forklift robot that can store and pick up object from specified storage. Currently, in warehouse storage systems are mainly still done in traditional way using human operator to store and pick goods into specified location.  They made it possible for one person to move thousands kilograms at once. This is the general description of a normal forklift . Forklifts are most often used in warehouses, but some are meant to be used outdoors.
  • 4. 2. Basicc principles/Concept The weight of the truck itself counterbalances the load it’s moving. You need to understand three principles, center of gravity, load center, and the stability triangle.  Stability triangle: A lift truck has three points of suspension where the stability triangle is formed. Unloaded the truck’s center of gravity is generally under the driver, loaded that center of balance shifts outward towards the edge of the units triangle.
  • 5.  Load center: From the front of the forks on the lift truck to the “center of gravity” of your load. Remember, if you move your load away from the front face of the forks, you impact the your trucks capacity. Center of gravity: The place where an object will balance on a single point, not always is this in the middle of an object. Shape of the object can change the position of the center of gravity. When eying up your load, work to understand where its center of gravity is, and center that point directly over your forks.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:-  To develop conceptual design of the model.  To perform design & analysis.  To perform cost analysis.  To fabricate experiment setup.  To make lifting and transporting cargoes easier.  To Impart the simplest possible operation and mechanism.  To prepare Bill of material.
  • 8. EXPECTED OUTCOMES:-  Understand the basic principle of operation and design.  Design the model to make lifting and transporting cargoes easier.  Fabricate the model.  Testing the effectiveness of the model & all the components.
  • 9. LITERATURE REVIEW:- The forklift can be defined as a tool capable of lifting hundreds of kilograms of weight. A forklift is a vehicle similar to a small truck that has two metal forks on the front used to lift cargo.Therefore a prototype module is constructed for the demonstration purpose. This module simulates the real working system & based on this technology with slight changes in the structure & motor ratings, the system can be converted for real applications. The method of converting rotary to linear motion is implemented in the mechanism. The forklift is one of the most frequently used material handling equipment in industries and its ability to shift heavy loads efficiently has led to its universal application with in manufacturing plants, warehouses, and trade environments. These forklifts offer many benefits such as reducing manual material handling and enhancing productivity .
  • 10. •ADVANTAGES • HYDRAULIC FORKLIFT UTILIZES THE NON- COMPRESSIBLE FLUID LIKE OIL FOR LIFTING THE HEAVY LOADS WITH THE HELP OF HYDRAULIC CYLINDER ARRANGEMENT, SO THERE IS NO FUEL REQUIRED LIKE OTHER POWER OPERATED FORKLIFTS. • HYDRAULIC FORKLIFTS ARE THE MOST ECONOMICAL SOLUTION FOR INDOOR AND WAREHOUSE USES BECAUSE IT REQUIRES VERY SMALL SPACE TO OPERATE.
  • 11.  Disadvantages According to the capacity and size of the forklift limited weight is lifted. The capacity of the hydraulic hand operated forklift is limited to some 1.5- 3 ton. Manually operated so long distance can not be traveled.

  • 16. COMPONENTS USED :-  Base (chassis): The chassis is fabricated from Plywood sheet. This is done for easy of fabrication, and to reduce the overall weight.  Remote system : The forklift is equipped with 3 manual keys. By activating these keys manually, all the movements can be created in the forklift.  Slider : Its a rectangular plate which is held between two vertical channels of Aluminium which are free to slide up and down to lift and lower the weight/load up to a desired limit.  Counterweight : it is a mass attached to the rear of the forklift truck frame. The purpose of the counterweight is to counterbalance the load being lifted.  Gear  Pulleys  Wheels.

APPLICATIONS :-  Transport the goods from one place to another place.  Storage the goods in specific storage.  Shifting the cargoes in ships , trucks etc.  There is hardly any industry where material handling is not require.  The Hydraulics and other type of forklifts are the most economical solution for all the industries and warehouses where material handling as well as transportation of it at short distances is required.
  • 19.  CONCLUSION  The project work “ remote control mini forklift ” is aimed to control through remote control designed. The advantage of using this technology is to increase the safety of operator by operating the forklift from certain distance. This increases the efficiency of the productivity, because human errors due to poor visibility can be minimized. The system is designed and developed successfully, for the demonstration purpose prototype module is constructed.  After going through these collected data and statistics from various journals as well as research papers, we came to conclusion that remote controlled forklift is the only way to stop such industrial issues like labour cost, hazardous material handling.

Advantages Hydraulic forklift utilizes the non-compressible fluid like oil for lifting the heavy loads with the help of hydraulic cylinder arrangement, so there is no fuel required like other power operated forklifts. No environment pollution and health hazards occurs while using hydraulic forklifts. Hydraulic forklifts are the most economical solution for indoor and warehouse uses because it requires very small space to operate.
