This document provides a summary of a 4-month internship and project at the Tana Beles Sugar Factory in Ethiopia. It includes sections on the background of the factory, experiences during the internship, and a project to design a simple hydraulic lifting machine. The internship provided opportunities to gain practical skills and expand theoretical knowledge of the sugar production process. A key project was designing a lifting machine that reduces the complexity and cost of traditional forklifts while maintaining a lifting capacity of 120kg.
