This document summarizes land allocation data from the Forest Rights Act in Kandhamal, India. It shows that: - Of the 57,918 total individual forest rights titles in Kandhamal, only 1,803 (3.1%) were given to women right holders. - Of these 1,803 titles to women, 972 went to married women jointly with their husbands, 807 to widows, and 5 to unmarried women. - The total area of land received by women right holders under the Act was 1,179.78 acres, averaging 0.654 acres each. Widows received the largest average area at 0.712 acres. - The majority of land
