Proposal for the utilization of waste energy of foot power with human locomotion is very much relevant and important for highly populated countries like India where the railway station, temples etc., are overcrowded all round the clock .When the flooring is engineered with piezo electric technology, the electrical energy produced by the pressure is captured by floor sensors and converted to an electrical charge by piezo transducers, then stored and used as a power source. And this power source has many applications as in agriculture, home application and street lighting and as energy source for sensors in remote locations.

Generation of electrical power by non-conventional method
• Nonconventional energy using foot step is converting mechanical energy into the electric al energy
Piezoelectric Effect is the ability of certain materials to generate an electric charge in response to applied mechanical stress. The word Piezoelectric is derived from the Greek piezein, which means to squeeze or press, and piezo, which is Greek for “push”.
The pushing power is converted into electrical energy by proper driving arrangement. The rack & pinion, spring arrangement is fixed at the inclined step. The spring is used to return the inclined step in the same position by releasing the load. The pinion shaft is connected to the supporter by end bearings as shown in fig. The larger sprocket also coupled with the pinion shaft, so that it is running the same speed of the pinion. The larger sprocket is coupled to the small cycle sprocket with the help of chain (cycle). This larger sprocket is used to transfer the rotation force to the smaller sprocket. The smaller sprocket is running the same direction of the forward and reverse direction of rotational movement of the larger sprocket. This action looks like a cycle pedaling action.
In this project, we are generating electrical power as non-conventional method by simply walking or running on the footstep.
NonConventional energy system is essential at this time to our nation.
Non-Conventional energy using footstep is converting mechanical energy into the electrical energy.
A simple mechanical gear system is used to generate mechanical motion from footstep, and further converting it to a charging point.
By this we tried to generate the electricity by waste energy from speed breaker arrangement.
in this we use the spring coil mechanism of power generation through speed breaker. also our main principle of project is based on hydro electric power generation.

POWER GENERATION
1. LEVER
A lever is a machine consisting of a
beam or rigid rod pivoted at a fixed
hinge.
It is the simplest machine which is
basically used to reduce the human
effort.
6. 2.RACK AND PINION
Rack and pinion is used to
convert linear motion to
rotary motion.
In foot step energy generator
generally pinion consists of 12
teeth and pitch circle diameter
is 1 inch.
Rack is 45.2 cm long and
consists of 50 teeth.
7. 3.SHAFT
Shaft is a mechanical component for
transmitting torque and rotation.
In foot step energy generator pinion and
ratchet gear are mounted on the same
shaft.
8. 4.BALL BEARING
The purpose of ball bearing
is to reduce rotational
friction and support radial
and axial loads.
The diameter of inner ring is
2.5cm.
9. 5.RATCHET GEAR
A ratchet gear a mechanical device
that allows continuous linear or rotary
motion in only one direction while
preventing motion in the opposite
direction.

A flywheel is a rotating
mechanical device that is
used to store rotational
energy.
In foot step energy generator
flywheel is used to drive the
DC generator which produces
the electrical energy.

It is an electrical device which is used
to convert mechanical energy into
electrical energy.
30 volt DC generator has been used in
foot step energy generator.
12. MATERIAL SELECTION
Mild steel is a type of steel that contains small
amount of carbon and other elements. It is
softer and more easily shaped than higher
carbon steels. It also bends a long way
instead of breaking because it is ductile.
Mild steel is a carbon steel which contains
0.25% Carbon
0.4%-0.7% Manganese
0.1%-0.5% silicon
14. WORKING
• The complete diagram of the foot step power generation is
given below. The pushing power is converted into electrical
energy by proper driving arrangement. The rack & pinion,
spring arrangement is fixed at the inclined step. The spring
is used to return the inclined step in same position by
releasing the load.
• The generator is used here, is permanent magnet D.C
Stepper Motor. The generated voltage is 12 Volt D.C. This
voltage is further amplified using DC-DC convertor and is
stored to the Lead-acid 12 Volt battery.

16. The battery is connected to the inverter.
This inverter is used to convert the 12 Volt
D.C to the 230 Volt A.C.
This 230 Volt A.C voltage is used to activate
the light, fan and etc. By increasing the
capacity of battery and inverter circuit, the
power rating is increased. This
arrangement is fitted in shopping complex,
college and wherever the large people
walking on the foot steps simultaneously.

Power generation using foot step can be
used in most of the places such as:-
• Colleges,
• Schools,
• Cinema theatres,
• Shopping complex
• Railway stations
• Airports
• Bus stand, etc.
19. CONCLUSION
•Foot step energy generator is suitable for
small amount of power generation such
as charging cell phones, door lightnining
and hoarding street lamps.
•For efficient working it should be used
where people walk frequently such as
malls, foot paths, railway stations, etc.
