Elastic therapeutic tape (ETT), also known as kinesio tape, is widely used by foot care professionals to enhance patient outcomes by improving proprioception and reducing pain, as it stimulates skin receptors to enhance movement awareness. Emerging theories suggest that taping should focus on whole-body movement rather than individual muscles, demonstrating efficacy in treating various musculoskeletal conditions. There is growing evidence of its effectiveness, especially in addressing edema, and while it is not a cure-all, its cost-effectiveness and wide applicability make it a valuable tool for practitioners.
