- Upcycled products utilise ingredients that otherwise would not have gone to human consumption, are procured and produced using verifiable supply chains, and have a positive impact on the environment. The past decade has seen an increase in plant-based alternatives, oat milk, electric cars and compostable packaging - the food system is transitioning from a commodity-driven supply chain to a consumer-centric and value-added food and agriculture ecosystem. This presents a profitable for NPDs to reimagine the food system and create products that use upcycled food scraps.

This presentation by Todd Rosenstock & Christine Lamanna was given at a session titled "Using climate-smart technologies to scale up climate-smart agriculture practices" at the Global Landscapes Forum in Lima, Peru, on December 7, 2014.
The panel presentation and discussion focused on how these climate-smart technologies can be scaled-up to benefit smallholder farmers. This was followed by a public debate.
In this presentation, a vision of transformed food systems and key steps to transforming the system are developed. Alan Dangour from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) presents findings from a systematic review on the role of agricultural policy that directly manipulate food prices and its affects on under- and over-nutrition. Only 4 studies met the inclusion criteria suggestion limited evidence in this domain. This was presented at the joint LSHTM, LIDC and IDS event called 'Synthesising evidence across health and development' held at Woburn House on 19 September 2012.

Solving the Toxic Food System in America through Systemic Thinking Bianca Esposito
During my Fall 2016 semester of college, I worked with a team of classmates in my Critical Issues in Organizations course to propose a solution to improve the toxic food system by increasing the demand of healthy food. In order to achieve our mission, we plan on altering food marketing strategies through product, placement, promotion, and price.
The conference on Food Safety and Nutrition in 2050 – organised by Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission – provided an opportunity for dialogue among global stakeholders on the emerging challenges to the food chain and the role of future policy-making in addressing those challenges.
The conference also provided the opportunity to foster a dialogue on consumers' expectations for safe, nutritious, quality and sustainable food and the role of food science, technology and innovation in achieving them. Held on 17 July 2015 in Milan, Italy.
