After attending a world hunger summit, he created Hunger 500 to raise awareness of hunger at local, national, and global levels by having ordinary people take action. His venture is sponsored by UAB School of Public Health, Nestle Canada, and University of Guelph, and has raised $10,000 in addition to sponsorship for food and equipment. His mission now partners with several hunger-focused organizations.
