2. introduction
• A new project is accelerating progress in the
fight against malaria in Thailand by using
smart phones to capture data on patients
and monitor treatment.
3. introduction
• .WHO ( world health organization) has been
responsible for playing a leading role in the
eradication of smallpox. Its current priorities
include HIV/AIDS, malaria, ; sexual and
reproductive health, development, and
ageing; nutrition, food security and healthy
eating.
4. History of WHO!!
• WHO’s Constitution came into force on 7
April 1948 – a date we now celebrate every
year as World Health Day.
• In February 1946 , International health
organization change from the word
"world", rather than
"international", emphasised the truly global
nature of what the organization was seeking
to achieve.
5. Impact
• WHO help in transport, agriculture and housing
have profound impacts on health. For
instance, transport is a major factor in traffic
injuries, air pollution and noise. But "healthy
transport policies" can help reduce these risks, as
well as promoting walking and cycling. In
agriculture, fertilizers and pesticides may boost crop
yields. But wise use is important to protect farm
workers and consumers from excessive chemical
exposure.
