2. Essay Arguments for Environmental Conservation
Response 3: Arguments for Environmental Conservation Since the beginning of
civilization humanity has adopted a subjugating stance toward nature. Ecological
exploitation has become the de facto standard, contributing to the illusion of self
subsistence provided by modern society. This mindset is untenable given humanities
reliance on the natural world, as best demonstrated by the critical importance of
various parts of the environment to humanities continued existence. This includes the
importance of biodiversityto medicinal advancement and climate adaptation, the role
of insects in the renewal of the biosphere, and the importance of the environment for
humanities psychological health. A huge number of modern medicines are derived...

(31) In addition, biodiversity will be crucial for humanities continued survival in
the case of climate change or widespread crop failures. The majority of people on
earth are reliant on four crops for subsistence; wheat, rice, corn, and millet. (11)
These crops are threatened by climate change and the spread of disease facilitated by
modern transportation. If humanity is to survive such an eventuality it must be ready
to draw upon the earth s biodiversity for replacements. And while there are
approximately 50 thousand plant species that could offer alternatives, this bank of
resources is quickly thinning as various ecosystems are being destroyed. (11) Other
services nature provides are more easily taken for granted. We depend on plant life
to replenish the oxygen in the atmosphere, and on insects to replace nutrients in the
soil. (31) These insects are especially vital, as they are part of the foundation of
nearly all ecosystems. Without insects, plant species that rely on them for
pollination would quickly become extinct, including many of the species we rely on
for food. Following them would be species that feed on insects, as well as species
which rely on vegetation as part of their habitats. Finally, as insects make the prime
contribution to soil renewal, even non insect pollinated plant life would begin to
decline. (34) The result, according to Wilson, would
4. Personal Health Of Public Health
Health is the most precious asset in the possession of human beings. From my
classroom experience and through interaction with literature texts, I have come to the
conclusion that people can be responsible for their health. As a student of public
health, it is important to maintain good personal health in order to address the public
healthproblems in the future. To be responsible for my personal health, I have taken
the initiative to implement a personal health behavior changing plan to test whether a
positive reinforcement of rewarding myself to watch one episode of my favorite TV
show each night is an effective method to change my eating habit in a short period of
time.
According to my health report generated by Blue Zones, I have a very unhealthy
eating habit. I do not consume enough fruits and vegetables. One of the suggestions
they give to me is to enjoy some fruit and vegetables every day, by which I could
add 377 days to my life expectancy. As a result, I set my short term goal to be
meeting the recommendation of daily fruit and vegetable intake (2.5 cups of fruits
and 3.5 cups of vegetables) made by Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and
Prevention base on my age (22), sex (male) and level of physical activity (30 60
minutes per day). In the long run, I hope to maintain a healthy eating habit without
any intervention. According to CDC, One cup refers to a common measuring cup
(the kind used in recipes). In general, 1 cup of raw or cooked vegetables or 100%
5. Lifetime Bans Should Be Utilized in the NHL
For any professional athlete, there is a natural assumption of risk to one s physical
well being. Players are constantly honing their bodies in the weight room not just to
become faster and stronger than their competition, but also to protect against the
injuries that can ruin a season (Barrabi). The National Hockey League(NHL) was one
of the last professional sports organizations to issue sanctions against players who
cause concussions and head injuries. Just in the past season alone, there have been
a total of 44 suspensions in the NHL (TSN.com). Many of these suspensions were
assessed due to dangerous, and sometimes intentional, behavior. To many people,
these 44 suspensions occurring in the past season may seem too excessive;
compared to 2004, it is. However, the frequency of behavior resulting in
suspensions has increased over the past several years due to rule changes and a new
disciplinary council assessing said suspensions. Despite the change in rules, some
still intentionally commit acts of violence against opposing players. These players
defense is that they are trying to preserve the tradition and respect of the game by
humbling new, arrogant players who unnecessarily show off or target star players
(Jones). Although preserving this tradition is expected and necessary due to the
violent nature of the game, many players let their tempers get out of control. Because
of various injuries, especially head injuries, league officials should take a tougher
6. Dominican Republic Research Paper
The Dominican Republic and Haiti are two different countries located on one
island. They are very close in distance but they are two nations divided because of
the social, economic, and racial issues they face. These issues have been going on
for many years and still are a major issue in their society today. Many Haitian
individuals want to cross the border into the Dominican Republicfor a better lifestyle.
Although they want a better lifestyle in the Dominican Republic, racial issues tend to
hinder their advancement in a better lifestyle there. Crossing the border into the
Dominican Republic for a better life is not always the best option for the Haitians.

Many issues that have to do with the border come from Haitians crossing into the
Dominican Republic. This is not only an issue in the Dominican Republic, but also
an issue in the United States as well. Many racial issues are still in midst in the U.S.
Many sources talk about the racial discrimination between Haiti and the Dominican
Republic. Maitibag notes Despite the Inter American Court of Human Rights ruling,
children of Haitian descent born in the Dominican Republic continue to face
discrimination in birth registration practices and barriers to citizenship. The ruling in
favor of Pierre did not reflect a change in the government s stance on these matters
(93). In the Dominican Republic it is very hard to get granted citizenship if you have
parents of Haitian descent because of the racial discrimination and racial profiling.
There are many difficult barriers for the Haitians to overcome if they want to be
granted citizenship in the Dominican Republic. Another author talks on the racial
discrimination as well. Bartlett notes In the midst of such legal uncertainty and
change, people of Haitian descent living in the Dominican Republic are regularly
denied civil and human rights (588). The racial differences in the Dominican
Republic causes much tension throughout the Dominican Republic. Jones notes Fox

7. Comedy Errors Play
Personally I went and saw this production of Comedy Of Errors twice. Once on
opening night and another the night following. Obviously the second night that I
went and saw this play was the, in my opinion, better performance. This is most
likely due to the fact that the first performance I saw was the first showing of this
play being done by this group of people so naturally they were going to get nervous
and go up on a line. I personally enjoyed it very much but I have an unexplainable
lovefor shakespeare that I don t think that even a terrible production (unless it s
obviously horrific) would be unenjoyable to me. But all in all, both nights were
enjoyable, despite if you have a love for shakespeare or not. I dont think its really my

search term is childhood cancer and my one word search term is chemotherapy.
My initial search was through Scopus. I searched both of the terms using the
Boolean Operator AND to ensure that my search retrieved sources that had both of
my search terms. For my two word term, I added quotation marks around it because
I wanted to search the two words together. The range of years for publications that
appeared were from 2017 until the year 1958 with a total of 49 different years in
between. A total of 6,790 articles were shown. After I limited my search to only
nursing, articles, and articles in press, my total number came down to 113. After I
limited my search to the years 2003 2017, only 89 articles remained. After
performing a Google search on the author with the highest cited article using the
specified format, I retrieved a total of 1,460 hits. In Google Scholar, I retrieved 437
hits. On PubMed, I initially searched term 1 with quotation marks around it along
with my search term 2 using the Boolean Operator AND and was able to retrieve
6,778 articles. When I performed the same search again but without quotation marks,
I retrieved a total of 10,749
9. Themes Of Gandhi In Hind Swaraj
Many of the themes explored by Gandhi in Hind Swaraj are directly or indirectly
influenced by these texts. I lay no claim to originality. They have been formed after
reading several books. For instance, Gandhi s explanation of colonialism is built upon
Tolstoy s Letter to a Hindoo where he argues that it is not the English who have
enslaved the Indians, but the Indians who have enslaved themselves. Similarly, an
uncompromising critique of industrial culture, the hallmark of Gandhian thought, is
derived from Ruskin, Tolstoy and many other writers. Further, Maine s contention,
that Indians were inheritors of a civilizationthat had representative institutions but
destroyed by the new utilitarian state, was used by Gandhi to point out the superiority

Eastern (mostly Indian) sources include major ancient religious texts, not necessarily
Hindu (like Gita, Tulsidas Ramayana etc.)
On the surface, Hind Swaraj is primarily a critique of modern civilization, a
civilization only in name . Critical commentators like Bhikhu Parekh and Raghavan
Iyer perceive it in this way. Hind Swaraj, as Tridip Suhrud sees it, is philosophically
located at a fleeting, tantalizing moment in human history when, out of the two
modes of life and thought that were present simultaneously modern and a modern (a
modern was not anti modern) it was still possible to follow the latter or, in other
words, to conceive life outside the realm of the modern universe. It is this latter mode
of thought that forms the bedrock of Hind Swaraj because Gandhi believed that
modern civilization was built upon denial of a fundamental possibility, that of
knowing oneself. By shifting the locus of human endeavor to objects of bodily
comfort,
10. Contrasting Responsibility in Carver s Fever and...
What allows a human being to constantly face up to the responsibilities of life?
What makes a mother or father continue to clothe, feed, and pick up their child from
school? What makes a person wake up every morning to go to a job he or she hates,
come home, and begin the whole process the following morning? Is it responsibility
that makes a person do what they have to do, or rather is it fearing the consequence?
Truthfully, this would depend on the situation. Parents would most likely fulfill their
responsibility towards their child or children because of love; but a person who hates
his or her job probably continues to do it fearing the consequence of unemployment.
In the end, one realizes that despite all the responsibilities a person... Show more

As the plot is established, one realizes that Sonny has been arrested for using heroin
and sent to rehabilitation. Consequently, Sonny s brother is so disappointed in him
that he initially refuses to even contact him until he writes a letter to inform Sonny of
his daughter s death. When Sonny responds, the first words he writes are, You don t
know how much I needed to hear from you (6). This opening sentence jolts Sonny s
brother into realizing that at the moment his brother needed him the most, he did not
even bother to at least acknowledge him.
Before passing away, the narrator s mother made him promise to always take care
of Sonny: You got to hold on to your brother, she said, and don t let him fall, no
matter what it looks like is happening to him and no matter how evil you gets with
him. You going to be evil with him many a time. But don t you forget what I told
you, you hear? (14). The narrator s initial lack of contact might seem that he has
forgotten his promise and his responsibility as an older brother. Realistically though,
the narrator is angry at Sonny s decisions to take heroin and consequently get
arrested. This anger that he holds is preventing him from fulfilling his promise and
his responsibility; however, when he receives the letter from Sonny stating, You don
t know how much I needed you , the anger dissipates and he realizes that his younger
brother is in need of guidance and love rather than anger and ignorance.

Cattell (1963), suggests the capability to work out different problems, exercise logic

mainly when oldest adults ages 80 upward falls below younger adults, yet declines

suggest the client read books they find interesting. Information processing of older
adults, such as psychomotor skills slows down with age, particularly with ambiguous
information processing and is a consideration of a universal, cross cultural
phenomenon (Kail Salthouse, 1984). Interestingly when the task is not difficult, this
can make the predictor of psychomotor decline difficult. For instance, are basic daily
tasks such as cooking, dressing, self care, and hygiene. On the other hand, attention
to more demanding tasks such as driving is a relation to changes such as vision,
hearing, reaction time, and attention (Kail Cavanaugh, 2013), for example. A
counselor may suggest that a client make a goal to try a new daily task such as using
technology to play a game online that requires improving reaction time. There is a

Derivatives
Derivative is a financial instrument whose value is derived from underlying asset.
The underlying may be shares, commodities, indices such as NSE and BSE sensexs
and even consumer price index. In case of common stocks (shares) the investors can
purchase equity derived securities representing a claim i.e an optionon a particular
stock on certain index.
What is important to understand is that derivatives are not products that can be sold

This mean when the value of the assest or the product on which the derivative is based
on changes, so does the value of the derivative change. Recently , option on weather

Suppose an Investor is bullish on Reliance at the start of the current month when the
spot price is Rs1000/=. He is expecting a price of Rs1150/= by the end of expiry .
Although he is expecting an upward price movement , he want to limit his downside
risk and hence he buys Call option contract of Rs1000/= (strike price) for a price of
say Rs25/=(premium). By paying Rs25/= ,he gets is a right (not an obligation) to buy
Reliance at any time before the expiry at Rs1000/=, irrespective of cash market price.
Hence the cost of his right is Rs1025/= and now before expiry suppose Reliance
moves to Rs1125/= he makes Rs125/= on an investment of Rs25/=. Now if Reliance
moves down to Rs900/=, he will not exercise his right to buy at Rs1000/= and his
loss will not be Rs100/= but maximum of Rs25/= which is loss of very low. Thus
options in a way, are like an insurance contract where by paying certain premium,

13. Copyright Challenges Of The Modern Digital Economy
Essay
Question:
Identify and discuss these copyright challenges in the modern digital economy using
examples from case law.
Examine the recommendations made by the ALRC for the introduction of fair use in
Australia?
Fair use is a defense to copyright infringement that essentially asks of any particular
use; Is this fair?
Do you think that this reform will promote innovation and enable a market based
response to the demands of the digital age?
Word Count: 1728
The term fair use is defined by Hudson as the use of copyright material without
permission from the owner for purposes that are deemed fair. In the digital economy
however, new challengers arise with fair use . These challenges are due to the
complex and changing nature of the digital environment, and the need for the law to
remain relevant, and be clear and broadly understood in the community. Secondly, the
purpose of copyright law is to stimulate creation and learning by providing incentives
to create and distribute. Therefore, it is important that reforms do not change the
fundamental objectives of the copyright law. The ALRC has made recommendations
outlining implementation of fair use legislation in Australia, which is intended to
outline the purpose and character of copyright material that may be used without
permission from the owner. The purpose of the ALRC report is build a fair and
reasonable legal guidelines where copyright material can be used fairly for purposes
that may not infringe copyright.

As children, we all have dreams. One may dream about becoming a singer to make
people smile in years to come. Another may dream about being a veterinarian to

their ambitions change while growing up. For me, my dreams and ambitions have
remained constant as my strengths and my interests developed. I ve always
wanted to work in the medical field and help the sick by curing diseases. I ve
always possessed an awe for the phenomenon that is the human and its capabilities
such as being able to distinguish the bright yet dark blues of the ocean to the ability
to hear a baby s laughter and first words. University of Michigan will help me

15. Essay On The Battle Of The Atlantic By Helen Cleary
The Battle of the Atlantic was the right between the Allied and German forces to
decide who can take control of the Atlantic ocean, It was the Longest battle during
World War II. It began right after the British declaration of the war against
Germany in September 1939 and ended when Germany surrendered to the Allies in
May 1945. The Allies needed to keep the flow of men and supplies going between
North America and Europe. On the other hand, the Germans wanted to cut these
supply lines. In order to do this, the Germans used submarines, called U boats, and
other warships to sink Allied transport ships. During the six years of battle, thousands
of ships were sunk and men were killed.

16. Negative Effects On Animal Pollution
has an extremely negative impact on many animals. Water polluted with different
chemicals can cause a decline of population in some species; On the other hand
water polluted with nutrients can lead to huge growth of toxic algae which when
eaten by other animals may cause serious diseases and death to these animals.
Persistent organic pollutants contains the growth of fish and wipe out their breed.
Chemical runoff from farms run into oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. Littering can also
lead to death of many animals because of toxic substances in trash, such as oil,
plastic, detergents and pesticides (How PollutionAffect Animals). Oil spills affect
marine animals and sea birds. The oil makes the water harder to swim through,
making the animals exhausted, and also making it harder for it to breathe (Levete
12). Oil spills damages the growth of sea birds (Effects of Pollution on People...).
Animals can also die by getting themselves entangled in one of the many litter
items dumped in the water. Plastic waste can cause dangers to animals. Around one
hundred million tons of plastic is produced each year, ten percent ends up in the
sea. A million sea birds and mammals are killed each year by plastic waste (5 Ways
Water Pollution is Killing Animals). Plastic bags are killing the animals in the water.
The bags can suffocate or choke the animal, by getting caught around it s body
(Levete 12). Noise pollutionis also becoming a huge problem for many animals,
especially ones that live in
17. Pablo Escobar Accomplishments
Pablo Escobar is well known throughout the world as one of their greatest outlaws.
He grew from obscurity to be the leading cocaine distributor in the world. He led an
empire of terror, drugs, money, and violence. He was a gangster and outlaw in the
ranks of icons such as Al Capone, Bonnie and Clyde, and John Gotti. He can only
be understood by looking at the man s early life, his rise to ultimate power, and the
absolute necessity of ending his reign of terror by any means. Pablo Escobar was
born in 1949. His father was a peasant farmer and his mother was a school teacher.
Pablo grew up in Envigado. Envigado was a suburb of the second largest city in
Colombia, Medellin. Escobar s childhood was in a very violent atmosphere. It was a

At the time cocaine was worth thirty five thousand dollars per kilo. A small plane
could make big money (Godfather). Pablo contacted a man by the name of Jorge
Ochoa. Pablo first met Jorge in Bogota when Escobar was racing cars. They were
both fans of the sport (Jorge). Pablo contacted Jorge because he and his brother,
Juan David, were working for one of the first Colombian cocaine chiefs, Fabio
Restrepo. He wanted to sell Restrepo fourteen kilos of uncut cocaine. The Ochoa
brothers were not impressed with this sale due to the small nature of it. However,
the brothers would be impressed when just two months later Restrepo was
murdered and Escobar was the new boss. It was never proven false or true if
Escobar had anything to do with Restrepo s death (Bowden 23). Pablo Escobar was
now leading the cocaine business in Colombia. The cocaine that was sold on the
streets of the United States was a white powder called cocaine hydrochloride. At
first the coca leaves were not grown in Colombia. Most of the coca leaves and
paste were imported from neighboring countries like Bolivia and Peru. Escobar
knew this was not the most efficient way to make money. He began to hand out the
coca seeds to the peasants and encouraged them to grow the important crop (Drug).
In March 1976, Pablo Escobar married Maria Victoria Henao Vellejo. She was a very

18. Governing Aortic Pressure
Governing Physiology
In order to provide as accurate a test as possible, care must be taken to model our
system after human physiologic conditions. There are many variables at play near
the aortic valve we must consider when making our tester. The most obvious
physiology we have to model is pressure. A successful heart valve must be one that
can reliably handle the pressures found in the body. Average blood pressure for a
healthy adult male when measured with a cuff is 80/120 mmHg where two numbers
are given for minimum and maximum pressures. However, pressure measured with
a cuff is different than aortic pressure5. At max pressure, the difference can by as by
as much as 20 mmHG for systole5. This is due to the higher elasticity of the aorta. We
ust keep that in mind if hoping to get accurate pressure found at an aortic valve.

liquid per stroke, and has a outer diameter of 1 8. In order to create a flow rate of
0.233L/s with this pump, one has to pump one full stroke in: 0.12L / (0.233L/s) =
0.51s. This means one must do a full pump about twice per second to test whether the
heart valve can withstand the maximum flow rate through aorta. According to the
product description, this pump is a combination displacement lift pump and siphon
pump with valves suitable for transferring fuel. 8 So the pump itself contains a valve
that prevents backflow.
Tubing: To house the heart valves, 1 inner diameter braided vinyl tubing was used.
The tubing fit well into the PVC T junctions and are approximately equal in size to a

Assembly and iterations
The main parts and components of this project have remained relatively constant. We

19. Community Policing Argument
Community policing has been described in various ways, but there is a basic
underlining element that defines the idea of it as a solidarity that is established at the
foundation and built up from there between the people of the community and the
officers that serve that community. While many agencies might pursue various ways
to implement community policingwithin their sector, the idea that the people of that
community are their customers more so than their enemies and vice versa, so that
there is unity built between the two. For some officers this may not be so easily
performed as they may view themselves as the arrestee not the mediator or
community advocate (Clear, Hamilton, Jr., Cadora, 2011). However, there are
substantial arguments... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As such, some officers will do best staying behind the wheel and dispatched, or
moving to other departments like squad, undercover or detectives. As suggested a
significant amount of police involvement is due to calls by the public and the
different variations of communities won t always allow for foot patrol, therefore
there will still be a need for this type of policing (Clear, Hamilton, Jr., Cadora,
2011). Instead the more variation of processes the better it will suffice in assisting
the problems each community might face, a good example is how the medical
model describes six sectors each that require different sets of needs (A Medical
Model for Community Policing, 2000). As suggested in the LAPD Frontline video
adding more police to the streets will have the potential to increase tensions, but if
done so in a manner that slowly and professionally integrates the police and if the
strategies are not apprehensive but more collaborative then it has a chance to be
20. Cave Paintings Essay
Creating art is one of the single defining factors that set humans apart from animal
species. Through art, humans are able to express their innermost ideas and feelings,
without having the difficulty of trying to find the correct words to accurately
describe their thought processes. Works of art can help us to understand the people
who have come before us. This is evidenced by the knowledge humans have
discovered of prehistoric men and their symbolic cave paintings. The expression,
style, and meaning vary and archaeologists put in much effort to uncover these
works. The first evidence of cave art appeared in Western Europe (Berenguer 67).
Early cave paintings were characteristic of Western art. They were supported by an

It is often found to be extremely animalistic. The animals most commonly depicted
are horses, deer, reindeer, bison, ipex, aurochs, woolly rhinoceroses, and
mammoths. Sometimes lions and bears are also created, but rarely fish or birds.
Humans were also commonly represented (Berenguer 73). Prehistoric men also
created abstract designs that have proven hard to identify. They are referred to as
signs and a special nomenclature has been developed to better understand their
meaning. Tectiforms are generally quadrangular shapes, with crossing vertical lines
inside forming a trellis or mesh design. Tectiforms often appear near naturalistic
figures of animals. Scutiforms have been thought to represent the female vulva.
They are formed by red patches, often in the form of a comma or a key. Other types
of signs are penniforms, ramiforms, and claviforms. The exact meanings of most of
these signs remain unknown (Berenguer 82). The French scholar Leroi Gourhan
formed a theory regarding the animalistic and abstract art representations. He
believed all depictions revolved around the law of sex, noting that the philosophy of
the prehistoric men concentrated all explanations on sex and sexual relations. Cave
art depictions of animals are divided into male and female. The male animals are
horses, she goats, and deer. Bison, bovidae, and mammoths are female. The signs are
also divided into gender categories. Triangles, rectangles, ramiforms, tectiforms, and
scutiforms are
21. The Conflict Between Saudi Arabia And Iran
It s often thought, in the west, that the feud between Saudi Arabia and Iran is 14
centurys old and that we don t understand it because we (the west) are so dis
attached from religion in governance. For example, the end of religious politics in
the US is credited with the writings of the English philosopher John Locke and this
view on religion became particularly influential in the United States Constitution in
1787 (ref). State figures like Barack Obama showed this in his final State of the
Union Address, he called the region a place rooted in conflicts that date back
millennia (Obama, 2016). The truth of the situation is, religious politics has been left
behind in the west. It s true that the divide in identities within Islamwas formed from
a religious dispute centuries ago. It s also nothing new that Sunnis and Shia s have
been in conflict for decades maybe centuries. The rivalry between the two has had a
violent affect in contemporary Middle Eaststabilization and politics.
Sectarianism between Saudi Arabia and Iran shouldn t be concluded as a foreign
ancient feud that conflicts modern political logic but rather a modern phenomenon
and a product of contemporary politics. Furthermore, it is playing out not in obscure
theological forums but in the political arena.
Sectarianism has become the product of key factors that play into religion. Islamism
is a modern day ideology which asks for an ideal Islamic state, formed on the
foundations of Islamic law. Islamism is

While some punishments may seem standard: a grounding for breaking curfew, a
detention for misbehaving in class, a jail sentence for robbery, not all punishments
are so cut and dry. Take the case of Casey Heynes. A video which has since gone
viral depicts the March 2011 incident. Ritchard Gale, 12, appears to tease and taunt
Casey, 15, and unleash a few unretaliated punches. In response, Casey picks Ritchard
up, and slams him to the ground. While Ritchard was relatively physically unscathed
in the encounter, Casey could have inflicted quite serious damage. It was revealed
through family and witness interviews that Casey was indeed provoked, and had
suffered bullying at the hands of classmates for years. Regardless, school and
societal rules were broken, and consequences must follow. What then, is a fair
punishment? Casey Heynes should receive a four day at home suspension. In
addition, he should participate in a bullying prevention group at his school and attend
a one day anger management course. This represents a fair punishment, as it acts as
a reasonable deterrent, allows Casey to demonstrate remorse, and is reflective of
both Casey and Ritchard s feelings. In order for a punishment to be

Experimental Design
Aim1. To define the role of miR 125a and miR 223 in modulating Aicda and Prdm1

miR 223 or inhibiting these microRNA, white mRNA sponge that competitively
inhibit miR 125a or miR 223 using retrovirus construct.
Aim1.1 Testing miR 125a overexpression can be performed via transforming a
retrovirus vector construct into E.coli plasmid to amplify the vector, following by
isolation of plasmids using specific Mini prep Kit. Then, plasmids are transfected
into Human Embryonic Kidney 293 cell line (HEK293 cell) or CH12F3 cell line. To
determine the efficiency of transfection, we monitored green fluorescent protein
(GFP) reporter construct expression by conducting either immunofluorescent assay
or fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS) 14. We transduce the virus
containing miR 125a vector into primary B cells that is purified by mouse B cell
isolation Kit and stimulated primarily with LPS followed by second stimulation
using LPS and IL 4. Cells were collected 60 h later for qRT PCR and RNA
extraction, or 96 h later for surface Ig analysis by FACS. The stimulated B cells are
stained with CD19 and CD138 to measure the percentages of switched B cells by
FACS. We predict a reduction in IgG1, IgG3, and CD138 populations due to the
impede function in CSR and plasma cell differentiation due to miR 125a expression,
which target Aicda and Prdm1. In addition, RNA extraction will be
24. The Knowledge That The Laputians Possess May
The knowledge that the Laputians possess may also reflect some symbolism
towards the saying of ignorance is bliss. If one does not know about something,
they tend to not worry about, but the Laputians know so much with their abstract
theories of math and science that they are under continual disquietudes (Swift
2577). The knowledge they have also makes it very apparent that they never take
the time to enjoy themselves as they fear the end of Earth constantly and when
they meet an acquaintance in the morning, the first question is about the sun s
health...and what hopes they have to avoid the stroke of the approaching comet
(Swift 2577 78). They worry so much that their conversations are their worries
which is very sad. Another sad thing is the men of Laputa do not even spend their
time with their wives which makes it all the more easy for affairs to arise. The
women of Laputa are free to do as they please, but they are unable to leave the
island as the people of quality have found by frequent experience, how hard it is to
persuade their women to return from below (Swift 2578). As unfaithful as they are,
the women still attempt to leave. It almost seems like the knowledge the Laputians
have is so powerful that it was able to make their wives unfaithful. The
impracticalness of the Laputians become more evident with Gulliver s observations
and discoveries. Gulliver is given tutors by the Laputian King to teach him their
language; however, he finds that the words he

27. Opening An Offshore Bank Account
10 Things You Should Know Before Opening An Offshore Bank Account
Opening an offshore account is not just for the super rich. There are plenty of
legitimate, legal, honest and good reasons why you should open an offshore bank
account yourself. Before you open your account, read this article about the ten things
you should know before opening an offshore account.
Throughout this article, you will see the acronym FBAR used quite a bit. It is a
Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR). You will need to file an
FBAR when ...a U.S. person has a financial interest in, or signature authority over,
one or more foreign financial accounts with an aggregate value greater than
$10,000 at any time during the reporting period (calendar year). If a report is
required, certain records must also be kept. (IRS 4.26.16.1 (11 06 2015))
1 Foreign Account Inconsistencies Is A Big Red Flag
When you fill out your tax return and you tick the box that says you have foreign
accounts, you are telling the IRS that you have an FBAR filing obligation.
Amending tax returns to report your worldwide income is fine, but some people
choose not to file their delinquent FBARs. Not filing is probably a bad idea,
especially since the government is coming down hard on tax dodgers at the moment.
If you have inconsistencies from one tax return to another, or between your old
FBARs and old tax returns, then it is going to make the IRS very suspicious.

America, and how he impacted Jewish Religion in America. Abraham Joshua
Heschel was born in 1907 in Poland. He was the youngest of six children. He
became a rabbi, and after that began studying for his doctorate at The University of

The Bay of Pigs invasion was one of the most surprising and embarrassing foreign
policy mishaps in the history of the United States. The invasion was such a failure, in
fact, that it resulted in the empowerment of the enemy it intended to defeat.
The conditions for the Bay of Pigs invasion were set by a political power shift in Cuba
. In 1959 a Cuban revolution led to the overthrow of President Fulgencia Batista,
who was replaced by leftist Fidel Castro ( The Bay of Pigs ). Castro quickly
reorganized and rebuilt the Cuban government. Much to the dismay of the United
States, this new government severed the ties between Cuba and the United States,
expropriated any U.S. economic assets in Cuba, and began building a strong
relationship with the Soviet Union ( The Bay of Pigs ). Due to Cuba s close
geographic location, the United States saw revolutionized Cuba as a threat to national

city that is well known throughout the records of history. Post World War II,
Nuremberg was the center for justice to trial various Nazi and German officials
from their heinous war crimes. After the Nuremberg trials, Nuremberg began to
urbanize like the rest of Germany recovering from World War II by redeveloping
neighborhoods and streets. Most of the streets were designed to be small and
inaccessible by more than a few cars at a time. As the German population increased
and more Germans moved to the cityof Nuremberg, the amount of cars populating the
city also began to rise. With the increasing amount of cars came the abundance of

films. In the opening credits of Do The Right Thing, Public Enemy s Fight the

Author Guthrie Ramsey states in Musing New Hoods that the music used in Do The
Right Thing depicts a range of associations that include black male and female
subjectivity, ethnic identity, a sense of location, emotional and mental states, a
specific historical moment, and the perspectives of age groups (Ramsey 314). The
various characters in Do The Right Thing such as radio host Mister SenМѓor Love
Daddy (played be Samuel L. Jackson) and Radio Raheem (played by Bill Nunn) use
hip hop music to establish a sense of location, emotional states, and ethnic identity
that is present throughout the movie. In one scene, Radio Raheem is shown in a
confrontation with a group of Latinos playing Salsa music. Radio Raheem proceeds
to blast his hip hop music at full volume in order to outplay the Latinos Salsa music.
This is another example of how music is used in the film to display the ethnic
identities of individuals, as well as the various emotional and mental states that
music can create. In addition to hip hop music, Spike Lee implements a variety of
music genres in Do The Right Thing in order to create a certain ambiance and
feeling. The use of orchestral music throughout the film plays an important role in
establishing specific emotions during scenes. Jazz and soul music are also used to
display emotion during various exchanges between characters. According to Victoria
E. Johnson, the music used in Do The Right Thing serves to convey a romanticized
vision of community in the ethnically mixed neighborhood in which the story takes
place (Ramsey 315).
In Krush Grove, director Michael Shultz uses various musical performances to
display the many aspects of hip hop culture and the African American experience.
Similar to Do The Right Thing, Krush Grove s use of imagery and music help portray
the ethic identities,

Confucianism is an ethical and philosophical system, originated from the teachings
of the Chinese philosopher Confucius (551 479 BCE). Often viewed as a religion,
Confucianism can be understood as a way of thinking or living. Confucius thought
the world was made of orderly hierarchies in both of family and government, and
that people at the top of the hierarchy should rule with kindness to win the respect
of their people. Where Legalism emphasizes law. The law rewards who obeys and
punish who break it. One of the most famous contributor of Legalism, was Han Fei
Zi, he believed that the ruler should follow these three tools to govern his people.
This paper will examine Confucianismand Legalism and discuss the differences
between the two systems in ancient china.
Kong Qiu (Confucius) was the founder of Confucianism. Confucius was born in 552
B.C.E. in a small state of Lu. His teachings in the Analects, focused on promoting
ethical standards of both family and social interaction, and setting the ideal
education. After his death in 479 B.C., Confucianism later became the official
philosophy of China, and was very influential during the dynasties. During the sixth
century B.C., Chinese states eroded the authority of the Chou Empire, a supreme
ruler for over 500 years. Resulting in traditional Chinese principles to began to

societal values of tradition in his culture. His social philosophy was

astonishment as a colossal clean cloud coasted in the sky. What the Indian ranchers
did not understand, but rather the representatives in Washington and around the globe

atomic club. On that warm May evening, Indian atomic researchers effectively

the American bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. The following day, as the world

Which is making sure travels are secured at all times and protecting the airports
assets. The security manager must show that he or she has confidence in their
workforce, to ensure that the general public, airlines, and all person s on an aircraft
get to their destination in a safe and sound.
A security manager for TSA needs to make sure all procedures are being followed
according to the standard operating procedures or (SOP). Security deviations are a
big concern for security managers. They must act quickly to identify these
deviations and come up with plans when noticed. Another key responsibility that a
security manager must closely look at is ensuring all procedures are followed
accordingly. As a security manager, he or she must ensure that each employee knows
all required procedures and is proficient in their tasks. If an employee was to be
considered unfit for duty, and the manager allowed them to continue working, this
could put the airport in jeopardy.
It is apparent, that every security manager has a lot of responsibilities and is
considered to be a vital asset to any organization. Security, is the main focus and

responsibilities of a TSA security manager are solely based on protecting the
traveling public and maintaining order within an airport terminal. The security

The Effects of Russian Culture on Military Operations in That Region
Introduction
Understanding a country s culture as it pertains to military operations is highly
important in the modern era. Dictionary.com defines culture as the behaviors and
beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group . There are many
examples throughout history that show the negative consequences of ignoring or
misunderstanding the cultures of other countries. The most recent example is our
long sustained operations in the Middle East. We have operated in the Middle East
for the better part of two and a half decades. Through our own successes and
failures, it is obvious how important cultural awareness can be. The mistakes we
have made have created more animosity towards our military and our country in
general. Over the last decade, our government has worked continuously to understand
and teach those lessons to our service members. Through those efforts, we have been
able to win over many of the hearts and minds that we lost during the early part of the
1990 s and 2000 s. Continuing these practices in the future, with countries such as
Russia, will allow us to overcome many of the mistakes and problems we have
encountered in the past.

any official views or opinions of the United States government. As you move from

For many years, Detroit has been described as the Come Back City . A presumption
will be made that the significant reasons for urban rot are, among potential others are
evolving demographics, deindustrialization, political disappointment, poor urban

culture and art, both in its stately decay and in its growing natural abundance. Indeed,
Detroitremains to be one of the finest sights to be seen with a little investing from

Around 1910 and 1980 Detroit s African American populace expanded in excess of
100 times. Ryan (2008) a faculty member of Harvard University reports that The
City of Detroit, Michigan was a natural subject for the study. Like many other cities
in the American Midwest and West, Detroit grew rapidly, expanding from a
population of essentially in 1850 to over 1,800,000 by 1950 . (p 2) The breakdown of
the Big Three automakers has quickened Detroit s decay, and occupants have been
consistently escaping since the 1950s. In that time, the populace has dwindled from
around 2 million to somewhat more than 700,000 individuals; aside from that, there
are more than 70,000 deserted structures and numerous empty lots. Individuals have
been relentlessly streaming out of the city for quite a long time, leaving behind empty
homes and scantily populated neighborhoods, leaving vacant neighborhoods an
invitation to more crime and other wrongdoing.
By the mid twentieth century, real changes in the American economy were underway,
and the auto business was on the front line. It wasn t the automotive industry alone
that demolished Detroit. It was urbanization that also played its hand in the demise of
Detroit. The city was destroyed by deindustrialization, and decentralization amid the
