In 2018, GE completed a system-wide Cloud migration and WMS
Upgrade with help from Ascension Logistics.
GE Lighting now manages all 4 of their warehouses on the same
platform; reduced support staff from 4 to 1.5 while increasing
overall productivity by approximately 15 % network-wide.

>2010 – Partial network upgrade
- Started upgrade process in 2010 with GE Lighting’s planned move to SAP ERP.
- Selected 2009.2 as WMS platform and went from 50 to about 20 modification.
- Upgraded 2 paper based Distribution Centers ( Mira Loma and Ravenna )
- Not comfortable upgrading largest site given available functionality
- Upgrade project went on hold.
>2016 – Begin Full Upgrade and Cloud Migration
- Selected JDA WMS version 8.2
- Selected JDA Cloud as Hosting Solution
- Developed Upgrade Roadmap and began first site

1. Corporate mandated the elimination Window XP, Old Oracle versions,
and HP-UX (TMS, WMS).
2. Required transition to cloud based infrastructure due to business
divestiture.
3. Standardize WMS and interface to SAP
4. SAP conversion
> GE’s highest volume Distribution Center using oldest WMS technology.
> Eliminate another 20 WMS modifications.
> Fast transition to cloud based infrastructure due to business divestiture.
