transmitted through blood contact

fast paced shots of people with blood on their clothes, skin
and teeth bombard the feelings of the audience.
V.O (BEN)

Ahhhhh, there you are you little
beauty!
(laughs alone)
What Dan fails to notice is the dark figure trailing him
like a preditor looking for his last meal. Suddenly the
figure disappears with a sharp thud and swing of Bens arm.
Dan turns around in shock.
DAN
What the?! What was that!? you

Dan is cut off abruptly by Ben when he sees an open garage.
BEN
Hey, look!
Dan snaps his head to look where Ben is pointing.
An open garage! We can get some
supplies from there!
They both make their way to the garage and open it all the
way with extreme caution.
any one of those things could be
behind there, be careful bro.
INT. GARAGE
Dan turns to look at Ben with a puzzled expression on his
face.
DAN
Things? What do you mean ’one of
those things’? I need to know whats
going on. Now!
Ben sighs and passes Dan an axe from the tool box.
BEN
you’re going to want to keep hold
of this... didn’t you see the news
last night? Some undead out break.
Its killing everyone it contacts
and then people are killing people
who aren’t people and...
DAN
What!? bull...
Dan didn’t say another word and just laughed harshly.

Ben looks over his shoulder and grins fiendishly at Dan.
BEN
You’re right, this is the real
thing.
EXT. CHELSEA’S HOUSE - NIGHT
Dan and Ben approach the house cautiously in the dark. Dan
leads towards the door where he discovers it is open.
Something doesn’t look right about the scene; its too quiet
for their liking. Dan calls out for Chelsea so that they can
unite themselves and find a safe place to stay.
DAN
Chelsea!? are you home?
BEN
No answer. Thats interesting.
Dan edges the door open and steps into the hall way.
everywhere else is dark. Ben follows him closely behind
silently. The tension is thick and Dan discovers a note
pinned to the wall.
HALL WAY
DAN
look, there’s a note on the wall.
Its from Chelsea.
CLOSE UP: ’Gone to a shelter in the
country side, sorry. Chelsea x’
BEN
Well that’s not vague at all, is

DAN
No! I know she’s still alive. we
have to find her. We WILL find her.

Ben sighs and makes his way into the darkness through the
rooms with his weapon.
BEN
Well while I’m here I’m going to
wash this crap off my face.
DAN
OK, but be quick; I don’t like
standing around too long.
INT. CHELSEA’S HOUSE - BATHROOM
Ben has just walked up the stairs and found the bathroom. He
approaches the sink and turns the tap on generously. The
sink fills up and he applies the water to the blood on his
face.
Whilst he is washing his face
him. Jumping to attention Ben
around instantly to check out
the room and Ben edges toward

he hears a footstep behind
grabs his machete and turns
the noise. Silence dawns upon
the door ready for action.

BEN
Dan... Is that you? Come on, don’t
fool around with me now.
EXT. LONELY STREET
Ben and Dan are walking in staggered formation deciding how
they can find and help Chelsea.Night is beginning to shadow
over them and dusk is not a safe place to be out in the
open. Ben snaps around to Dan and, half shouting, explains
to him that they need to find a car quickly before dark so
that they can get out of the infested area.
BEN
Come on! Stop falling behind! We
need to find a car as quickly as we
can and get out of this hot area.
DAN
There isn’t a ’person’ in sight.
BEN
Every attack we’ve had so far has
been in the dark! Its not just a
coincidence!

DAN
OK, fair point. But there’s no need
to shout.
Ben stops and takes a deep breath in and lets it out as a
sigh.
BEN
Take a look around Dan! Is there
nothing here to suggest why I’m
angry? everything I had and
everyone I knew is gone! and all I
have left is these bloodstains on
my clothes and an idiot trying to
find his dead girlfriend!
Ben storms off out into the distance and leaves Dan with one
arm crossed and the other hand on his forehead.
DAN
Have some faith Ben! If I die, at
least I tried!
INT. CAR - MOVING
Ben and Dan have found a car and are on there way to a place
they can only imagine what they’ll find. We don’t see them
at this point, only the moving objects far in the abyss.
V.O (BEN)
We finally found a car and we’re
both so exhausted. We have to keep
moving to avoid being over run by
those...things. Sleep is only a
reward for finding a safe place to
hide, and there aren’t any. I just
hope what Dan says is true, I hope
we will find survivors, I have
FAITH in our survival.
EXT. SHELTER
Ben and Dan finally find a place that looks like a good
place to shelter. They are hoping to find what they are
looking for as they walk up the hill side in the murky
daylight. The building looks intimidating from their view.
