Strange events occur and Sammie threatens Jason, implying she witnessed him kill her mother. The screenplay ends with David interviewing Sammie, who openly says she will kill Jason if she ever leaves the room because he murdered her mother.
The Penny Killer is a movie about a world-class detective along with the Chicago Police Department as they hunt down a serial killer known as "The Penny Killer" with a single motive, revenge.
Another short I wrote for fun. Wanted to experiment with taking two distinctly different genres - in this case, romance and horror - and smash them together.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
2. 1. EXT. A SERIES OF FLATS – DAY 1.
A simple ESTABLISHING SHOT of a series of flats, we pan down
to the road to reveal DAVID, a man in his mid to late
twenties, he is wearing smart but casual clothes, he checks a
piece of paper in his hand and then rings the door bell to the
upper flat, as he’s being let in SAMANTHA a young girl around
ten checks the window to try and see who is at the door.
2. INT. THE LIVING ROOM – DAY 2.
DAVID enters the room with JASON, SAMANTHA’s father. SAM
continues colouring in at the table.
JASON
..and here she is, the light of
my life! (Smiles) Sammie, this is
David – he’s from the local
paper. (Beat) Say hello then!
SAMMIE
(Turns and smiles)
Hello.
(She continues colouring)
JASON
I’m sorry you’ll have to forgive
her, she’s been through quite a
lot in the last couple of years
as you can imagine, had all kinds
of Doctor’s poking and prodding
her.
DAVID
That’s ok.
JASON
Oh where are my manners would you
like a tea or coffee?
DAVID
Er.. No thanks, actually, I’m
pretty pushed for time today, so
maybe just the interview?
JASON
Sure.. Now Sammie, this man’s
going to write a story all about
you and he wants to ask you some
questions – like I said earlier.
Ok?
SAMMIE
(Being sweet)
Ok Dad.
3. JASON
Well look, I’ll leave you guys
for a few minutes (to SAMMIE)
I’ll be right next door ok
Sammie?
SAMMIE
Ok.
JASON
Ok.
JASON leaves the room and DAVID smiles at SAMMIE.
CUT TO:
3. EXT. THE FRONT DOOR OF THE FLAT – DAY 3.
JASON shows DAVID out.
JASON
Well thanks for coming and I hope
it was all right for you.
DAVID
Yes – thanks. Oh just one more
thing.
JASON
Yes?
DAVID
You say all kinds of Doctor’s have
looked at her?
JASON
That’s right.
DAVID
And she still won’t leave the
room?
JASON
She’s been up there for two years.
Ever since her mum died. Simply
screams the place down if you try
and remove her from the room. She
nearly killed one Doctor that
tried to do it!
DAVID
Ok.. Ok.. Thanks anyway, I’ll be
in touch.
4. JASON
Ok take care thanks for coming.
DAVID
Oh just one thing –
JASON
Yes?
DAVID
Did anyone think of moving her at
night?
JASON
What?
DAVID
Well at night, in the dark and
when’s she’s asleep, she can’t
tell where she is – if you move
her into your room, you would be
able to see her reaction in the
morning maybe.. Just a thought –
see ya!
From the upper window SAMMIE watches DAVID leave.
DISSOLVE TO:
The same exterior of the flat but late at night.
4. INT. THE LIVING ROOM – NIGHT 4.
The clock in the living room says 02:34 when SAMMIE is picked
up by JASON.
5. INT. JASONs BEDROOM – NIGHT 5.
JASON pops SAMMIE into the bed and smiles at her. He then gets
into bed next to her, turns over and drifts asleep. SAMMIE’s
eyes open wide. JASON turns over and notices SAMMIE has gone.
He sits up, the clock says 02:42.
JASON
Sammie?
(Reaches for the light)
SAMMIE
(as a shadow on the wall)
Turn on that light and I’ll kill
you.
JASON
Oh Sammie, stop mucking around!
He reaches for the light again but recoils back, his arm has
been cut.
5. JASON
Shit Sammie! STOP MUCKING AROUND!
SAMMIE
Turn that light on again and I’ll
kill you like you killed mum! I
saw you!
JASON
Sammie! Stop this!
JASON reaches over to the light and manages to switch it on.
But SAMMIE has gone.
JASON
SAMMIE!?
He gets out of bed and carefully looks around the corner –
nothing. He walks through the corridor– no sign of SAMMIE.
6. INT. JASONs BATHROOM – NIGHT 6.
JASON enters the bathroom and switches on the light and then
the tap, he cleans his arm. Blood gushes down the sink and
then he stops dries his hand, he looks into the mirror.
Suddenly from behind him the door bangs shut.
JASON
SAMMIE! Sammie you little bitch
open the…
As if by magic, the door is not locked and he pulls it open.
He looks into the living room – no one. He creeps in,
breathing heavily. A tense moment builds as he looks around
the room. He notices a drawing SAMMIE has done. He walks over
to it and picks it up. It is of him murdering her mother. We
see JASON’s silhouette shadowed on the wall of the living
room. Suddenly, SAMMIE’s silhouette appears. She stabs him
three times.
FADE TO BLACK
OVER THE END CREDITS WE HEAR VO:
DAVID
This is David Langdon, interview
conducted 21st June, 2011. I’m here
with Sammie Knight, aged 10. How
are you today Sammie?
SAMMIE
I’m fine.
6. DAVID
Sammie, why have you not left this
room in over two years?
SAMMIE
Because my Daddy murdered my Mummy
in this room.
DAVID
What? Your mother? That would be..
SAMMIE
Dorothy Knight, yes. Right here –
over there in fact.
DAVID
And you’ve wanted to stay here at
home?
SAMMIE
There’s no place like home.
DAVID
So, if your Daddy killed your Mummy
in this room, why haven’t you ever
told anyone?
SAMMIE
I’m telling you, silly.
DAVID
So, you cannot and will not leave
the room huh?
SAMMIE
No because if I ever do – I will
kill him.
DAVID
Who?
SAMMIE
My Daddy of course.
DAVID
Well Sammie (Laughs) That certainly
would make a much bigger and better
story wouldn’t it!
SAMMIE
Yes – it would.
