Chapter 1
                                   The Beginning

• The door slowly opened Josh was corned guns at the ready no one was there
to save him now he was by himself he felt rejected, lonely just like he felt
when he got divorced for the first time. Two weeks before Josh had been with
his mates sipping on Budweiser and cheating on his wife with his ex. they were
all gone now dead or worse...
• He didn't like to think about what happened to his mates he preferred to
forget about the past and think about his future. What future? There was
nothing left for him in this world and certainly not in others. Suddenly he flung
into action shooting every stranger he could see ‘strangers’ he had never got
used to the name he made it up because that's what they were strangers he
didn't know any of them and he didn't partially want to know them now not
after the infection. He shivered a cold chill went down his spine sending him a
message a sudden urge to turn round. And standing there in the doorway
behind him was a stranger getting ready to pounce. Josh sprung into action
using every ounce of strength he dived out the way causing him to drop his
gun. There was a sudden bang as the stranger hit an operating table and
plummeted to the floor. Josh hadn't actually worked out where he was yet he
guessed he was at the local hospital because of all the operating tables. There
was a sigh of relief as he sat there motionless as the other strangers ran away
scared that they might end up like there dead brethren.
• Josh got back up onto his feet his hand ached from carrying that big lug
around what people called a gun. Josh muttered under his breath: I thought it
was supposed to protect you stop you from getting killed well that thing is
killing me. He stood there paralysed caught in the moment. He realised how
sad his life truly is living of scraps that other people ‘Dead People 'left behind
drinking from toilets fighting to survive he really was at the lowest point of his
life. Realising how depressing he sounded he made his way down the
corridors. They were empty (or so it seemed) and silent all except for the
squeak of rats and mouses that had moved in after the infection. He wished
he could move in with them safe from the strangers but he knew he would
never be able to fit through the holes they had made in the walls. All around
him there were bloody hand prints the walls that were once white now green
and red covered in blood and puke. The corridor consumed by darkness a
humans one weakness and a strangers one strength. Once he had went
through the corridor there came two others each with obstacles' blocking the
way. ‘Bloody hell’ Josh said not sure why he had said it because he knew it
wouldn't change a thing. Another dead end he wasn't sure if this was a
hospital or a maze. Josh wandered back the way he came and eventually
found the exit wondering aimlessly finally paid off and without looking back
    he stepped into the open.
Chapter 2
                                     A new day

Josh was suddenly blinded by a sudden burst of light as the sun stared down at
Him. It had been over a week since he first set foot outside he was puzzled he was
expecting a stranger to jump out at him or at least to see one living thing. Josh
made his way down the road as he suddenly heard a shriek. He turned round
‘nothing there’.i must be imagining things josh said confused but at the same
time glad he already had enough on his hands. There it goes again that same
shriek josh was now worried scared that something was going to jump out of
nowhere and drag him deep into the depths of hell stuck there for eternity. He
knew thinking like that would do no good to his brain. The shriek had stopped
now he was already half way through his journey he was determined to get to
the other side of town by nightfall which josh knew was impossible unless he
had the ability to run fast non-stop.Josh paused for a second time was
catching up on him he saw the sun going down. Josh had no chocie but to find
a place to sleep throughout the night. He saw a old broken down building.
Then he realised it was the ‘black swan ‘(the local pub).he remembered going
here with his mates. Those were the days said Josh. He walked towards it and
stumbled along the way. And stepped inside.
• He walked over to the bar it was just like he remembered it with a few things
missing though he looked for food he could eat or at least a drink.’nothing’Josh
was tried. Josh had enough of this he was no good with a gun he couldn't find
any food and to top it of he couldn't even find his way around the corner
across the street even with a map he was he was useless and everyone knew
it. Josh tried to forget about everything that had happened today. He took a
moment to think. Am I really useless ‘naaahhh’ he laughed and got a drink
from behind the bar and drank his worries away. I must had fell asleep after
his third drink because the last thing he remember was passing out said josh
aware that there were two people staring at him in amusement followed by a
third and a fourth. Josh didn't know what to say to them he guessed they lived
here and he was tresspassing.Tried and hungry he sat up and waved at the 4
people standing around him. They scratched there heads in confusion and
watched Josh get up and stat walking. Josh started walking towards the door
when all of a sudden two of the people blocked him from leave there guns
raised the third behind him with his axe at the ready. Josh was tried and didn't
know what to do. He hadn't slept well he had a nightmare where he was
running he didn't know what he was running from until he turned round the
darkness coming at him faster then light consuming everything consuming
    him.
Chapter 3
                                   companions

• He noticed that the third person was a kid and could easily be overpowered
but he was to tired to fight. Where do you think your going mate? Said the
second person. Search his bag said the fourth might be something useful in
there.noticeing there was nothing in there apart from a teddy bear he through
the bag on the floor and took the teddy out they laughed. Really mate? How
old are you mate? The second person said. Thirty seven said josh angry now
because the truth is it wasn't his it belonged to his son who was one of the
first people to get infected because he was weaker than others and couldn't
defend himself josh tried to fend those ugly beasts of but it was to late they
had already dragged him into the pits of hell. It was over before it started for
his son. But Josh still had a chance to live he owed his son that much. Josh
kicked the two in front they stumbled backwards and fell to the ground with a
thud. He knew straight after the third behind him would try to hit him with his
axe. Josh cleverly dodge him and twisted his arm. Josh was more confident
now he was ready for anything.
• Josh was ready he loaded his gun expecting another attack but instead they
just got up and walked over to the first person who had raised his hand like a
school boy trying to answer a question. Josh laughed had enough have you.
The third person sneered at him and checked for any cuts or bruises. The first
person started clapping a grin on his face ‘where'd you learn to fight like
that’.Whats it to you said josh. he noticed he was starting to bleed where the
axe had skimmed him on the arm. Nasty cut there we have medical supplies
back at are base maybe Abby are doctor could take a look at it for you? No
thanks but I don't need any help from you. Come on straight after you can
make your way. Fine but only if you answer my question why are you helping
me. Because I don't like seeing people fighting people we shouldn't be fighting
each other but them beasts outside. What do you call them?strangers?yeah
strangers what ever. Josh knew he was lying I mean it was his fault that hes
ended up like this. The names Aran by the way.
Chapter4
