This magazine features Noel Clarke on the cover, seeing he is a main character in the Kidulthood film it will
promote this film and any others he has been in as well. As ‘Flavour’ is quite a well-known magazine, it will let a
lot of people know about this actor and his films. Because the tag line to the magazine is ‘The no.1 lifestyle guide
for the young and ambitious’ it suggest that it attracts a lot of viewers because of the ‘no.1’ and that it also has a
similar target audience to the Kidulthood film, mostly because of the use of the word ‘young’.

Although the magazine
shows the dual
personality of Noel
Clarke, he has the same
expression on his face in
both pictures, showing
that although he has two
different persona’s the
‘naughty’ and the ‘nice’
he is still the same person
deep down. It also shows
that even though he has
changed his clothes and
has a different lifestyle
from his character in films
such as Kidulthood, he is
still the same person in a
way, because of the way
he looks at the camera
and has identical
expressions on his face in
both images.

The magazine has two
images of Noel Clarke,
who wrote and starred in
Kidulthood. These images
show the two sides of
him and fit in with the
caption with the image,
the ‘naughty’ side is him
wearing casual clothes
with his back turned to
the audience, this may
show his darker side, like
the person he portrays in
Kidulthood. The ‘nice’
side is him wearing
smarter clothes with s
scarf, showing Noel
Clarke, not his character.
The use of showing the
dual personality of Noel
Clarke on the cover
makes him more
mysterious and this
would appeal to the
audience more as they
may want you know more
about him.

The other small titles on the side of the poster show more content of the magazine that the target audience may find
appealing, they also use language that is appealing to the 18-25 age range, such as ‘hottie’ which is a word used
commonly by younger people. Also the magazine may appeal to people in London a lot more than other parts of the UK
as they say ‘Comedian Eddie Kadi is on a mission to sell out the O2 Arena’. The O2 arena is in London, this also links in
with Noel Clarke, as he is born in London and also the film Kidulthood is set in London as well, so this magazine would
appeal more to people in London than anywhere else.At the bottom of the A4 front cover, a strip with many artists,
which is separated from the rest of the information on the magazine. Some artists include 'Fugative' and 'B.o.B'. These
artists target audiences are the same as the magazine, and thus also the same as the film. This should these artists’ fans
more interested in films with Noel Clarke in them, such as Kidulthood. 'The movie-making trendsetter does it again with
his latest release',the noun ‘trendsetter’ suggests that he is a role model for many because of his brilliant films that he
has made. The adverb 'again' links in with the film 'kidulthood' and suggests that he has made good films before, and this
one is also good, just like the others.
