4. Flame Measuring Methods ;
There are some method that are used for
Flame Detecting.
a. Flame Rod
b. Visible light sensors
c. Infrared sensors
d. Ultraviolet sensors
e. Thermal Effect
5. Flame Rod ;
Flame Rod is an instrument that are used for flame detection. Flame
rod mostly used on Pilots. Flame rod are specific for Gas flames. Oil
Flames are not Suitable for Flame Rod.
They work on Ionization Principle.
Flame rod have quick response to flame failure.
Coaxial cable used with flame Rod.
They have three
Components
a. Flame Rod
b. Coaxial Cable
c. Electronic Module (Relay)
6. Working Principle ;
Flame Rod Work on Ionization principle. When gases burn,
Heat , IR/UV rays and ions generated. Flame rod work on
ability of flame to conduct current when potential applied
across it.
When there is no Flame, the resistance between electrode is
maximum. But the presence of flame resistance decrease and
the flow of current increase through the flame rod and it
indicate the presence of Flame
8. Specification :
Service For Gases on Pilot
Power 80 to 300 VAC
Output Micro amp DC
Response Fast 1 to 4 sec
Flame Rod Length As per Required
Special Cable Coaxial High Frequency
Signal Digital
Contact SPDT
9. Flame Amplifier
A Flame Amplifier provide
Voltage to flame electrode.
The flame electrode is
immersed in flame to
sensed. The current thus
generated by the flow of
electrons through the
flame to the ground is
detected by the controller
for presence of flame
