Vision: Florida International University will be a leading urban public research university focused on student learning, innovation, and collaboration. Mission: Florida International University is an urban, multi-campus, public research university serving its students and the diverse population of South Florida. We are committed to high-quality teaching, state-of-the-art research and creative activity, and collaborative engagement with our local and global communities.

Strengths:  Post at least once every day, keeping the account active  Post interesting & relatable content that is constantly shared by students and alumni  Page is a constant check-in point on Facebook, giving more activity  Tags companies and organizations in posts, showing positive support  Reaches out into the community to find content  Content or organized  Content is mostly pictures or videos, making it eye appealing Weaknesses:  Doesn't share posts, only posts original content  Low rate of shares, likes, and comments on posts  Only 99136 people like the page  Doesn't connect to other social media accounts of FIU

Threats:  University of Miami has over 200,000 likes  Many different FIU pages  People might rate FIU low if they have a bad experience at the school and that shows publicly

Strengths  Very active twitter feed, constantly updating and tweeting  Appealing layout, fits the FIU characteristics  Has 24.4k followers  Stays up to date with current events Weaknesses  Although it has 24.4k followers, that amount is only 44% of the currently enrolled 55,000 students  Lack of engagement with students

Opportunities  There is a large student base to acquire  FIU is constantly expanding, keeping a need for updates  According to a survey done, approximately 80% of college students use Twitter  Every new incoming class, increases this statistic Threats  There are many different FIU twitter accounts  Lack of school pride  Students are more willing to follow other bigger schools’ accounts

Strengths:  Gives you an in-depth look to the FIU Staff  Starts their own trending topic through the use of hash tagging  HIGH quality photos  Post every single day  Hashtag campaigns are successful and high user engagement  They speak on some certain current events going on Weaknesses:  They may post only once or twice a day  They should have more followers  Should follow more people  Need to highlight more of the different campuses FIU has  Didn’t highlight the community around FIU

Weaknesses:  Considered a site the for only women  The site does not offer a board, or direction just FIU gear.  The site is not advertised on the FIU website, as a result it only has 775 followers.  Its inactivity cannot be used as a source of accurate information
