Peter the fish was alone in his bowl while watching his friends swim together in another bowl. He was separated because his owner thought he was too big to fit with the other fish. Tired of being alone, Peter practiced swimming to build strength so he could leap to the other bowl and join his friends, despite the risk of being caught by the lurking cat Josie.

There once was a fish named peter who was all alone in his own bowl while
watching his friends swim with each other in another bowl right across from him. The
reason he was in a bowl alone is because his owner thought that he was too big to fit in
with the other fish so he was left to be all by himself. He didn’t understand because
there could definitely be more fish in there with him. All he wanted was someone to
swim with. One day he was tired of being alone and decided to take action. Peter
practiced swimming to get stronger and then one day he decided that he was going to
make the leap to the other bowl to join his friends. Peter was very afraid that the cat
Josie would try to snatch him as he made the leap because she is always lurking
around the bowl. He was determined to make it across to his friends so he made the
leap.
