Experiment Review
Overall I thought the experiment was a really good way to bring awareness to the
fact that this discrimination is an ugly and it is not going away. She may have been
harsh in the way she did her experiment but you can’t say she didn’t get her point
across to the students who were involved. I think by doing this experiment it showed
students that black people can’t change their color while the discriminated students can
just walk away or change themselves. What I walked away with is the fact that I am now
more aware that discrimination is still happening all around. Also the fact that I can
change things about myself like my appearance but black people can't they have to put
up with the discrimination. I think I would have reacted differently than the girls did in the
experiment if I were involved. They were crying and letting what she said get under their
skin. I personally wouldn’t have let that happen because I would always keep in mind
that it is an experiment and not my life unlike how it is for black people. Also I don’t
allow people to get under my skin like how they allowed it to happen in the experiment.
