Peter was a lone goldfish who dreamed of escaping from his small bowl. He had been planning for months to leap from the top of his bowl to the table. When the moment came, Peter swam fast to the top of the bowl and launched himself into the air, feeling thrilled by his newfound freedom. However, his leap of faith ended badly as he splatted on the table outside of the bowl.

The Leap of Faith
One sunny day in the seal of the big picture window, two bowls sat side by side. The
bowls were globe-like and filled with crystal clear water. Swimming in the water were a few
goldfish. One bowl had four fish, and the other only had one. The fish who was all by himself
was different. His name was Peter. He wanted more than what life was going to offer him in that
bowl. He dreamed of one day getting out and being on his own. Sure, he loved his friends in the
other bowl, but it just wasn’t enough for peter. He had been planning his escape for months upon
months, and he felt as though the time had final come. Peters plan was to jump right out of the
bowl. He swam to the bottom of the bowl, took a deep breath, and charged to the top. As he
picked up speed, his little heart was racing faster than he was. He could see the sun shining from
the top of the bowl. This is it! My leap of faith, he thought. He reached the top of the bowl, and
splash! Peter raced into the air and away from the bowl. He went right over top of his friends in
the other bowl. They watched in awe as he sailed through thin air. Everything was running in
slow motion for him, at this point. The thrill of freedom and daringness was exhilarating. His
moment had arrived, and can you believe what happened next?
