1. Markets snap seven day losing streak; risk appetite remains weak

Indian equity indices snapped seven day losing streak amid lackluster trading ahead of Holi holiday and F&O expiry on
Thursday. Risk averseness persisted among traders on account of domestic political worries and renewed Eurozone
worries surfaced after Cyprus bailout plan. Sensex ended above 18700. Defensives led the gainers with CNX FMCG
(up 1.24%) topping the chart on NSE.
Among individual stocks, Reliance Infrastructure (down 6.1%) topped the losers on NSE. The stock has hit a new 52
week low on both the bourses.
T h e market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advancing and declining stocks were 1325 and 1480
respectively, while 143 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 18704.53, up 23.11 points or 0.12%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
18758.88 and 18612.37 respectively. 15 stocks advanced against 14 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 7.75 points or 0.14% to settle at 5641.60. The index touched high and low of 5655.30 and
5612.05 respectively. 26 stocks advanced against 24 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved down to 6053.50 and lost 0.11% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.04% to 5729.03.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 7012.77 (up 0.04%) and CNX 500 index rose to 4394.60 (up 0.10%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 3.42% at 15.80 from its previous close of 16.36 on Monday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Consumer Durables (up 1.59%), FMCG (up 1.13%) and Information Technology (up
0.45%) were the top gainers.
Oil & Gas (down 2.06%), Real Estate (down 1.95%) and Capital Goods (down 1.85%) were the top losers.

Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 2.98%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (up 2.17%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd (up
2.15%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.72%) and ITC Ltd (up 1.34%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Reliance Industries Ltd (down 3.25%), GAIL (India) Ltd (down 3.20%), Tata Steel Ltd (down 2.72%), Hero MotoCorp
Ltd (down 2.69%) and Larsen And Toubro Ltd (down 2.24%) were the top losers on the Sensex.
