This document discusses the final shot chosen for the cover of a music magazine called "TRILL". The shot is a mid-shot of the male model facing sideways, looking away from the camera at eye-level. He is wearing a plain white button-up shirt and flower crown. The shot was chosen to present the male artist in a feminine way and make him seem mysterious. Other shots were rejected for being out of focus or having distracting elements like a jacket.

3. This is the final shot I have decided to use for the front cover of my music magazine
‘TRILL’. It is a mid-shot, with my model facing sideward, with the angle of gaze at eye-
level. My model is wearing a plain white, button-up shirt, with a flower crown in his hair. I
did this because I wanted to present a male artist in a feminine way, as I saw it hadn’t
been done before, in this genre of music. I think that the choice of clothing simplifies the
shot, and makes you concentrate more on the photograph, and the way the artist is
being presented. Also, the use of accessories relates to the genre of music because a
flower could be seen as soft, yet reflect deeper meanings at the same time. His angle of
gaze is at eye-level, however it is away from the camera, and I did this t make my artist
seem more mysterious.
I chose to do this pose because the magazines I had researched were taken from this
distance, and the ones that specifically related to my genre generally had poses that
made the magazine and model ‘standout’.
The shots that I decided not to use were not chosen as some of them weren't in focus,
and this meant that the photo was blurry. Also, I had taken some with my model wearing
a jacket, however I realised the the jacket was distracting the focus of the picture, which
is not something that I want.
