only mammals that
willingly delay
sleep.
 Simple decisions
stump you.
 You’re still hungry
even after eating.
 You keep getting
sick.
 You’re a bit more
emotional than
normal.
 You’ve become
more of a klutz.
 Stroke
 Cancer
 Diabetes
 Obesity
 And many other consequences
 Women are more susceptible to cardiovascular
and psychological problems.
 Sleep in complete
darkness, or close
to it.
 Keep temperature
no higher than 70
degrees Fahrenheit.
 Avoid using loud
alarm clocks.
 It’s not good for your
body to be jolted
awake.
 Go to bed at the
same time every
night.
 Have a bed time
routine.
 Take a shower or
bath before going to
bed.
 Get the right
amount of sleep for
you.
 See infographic.
 Avoid caffeine.
 Avoid alcohol.
 Exercise regularly
for 30 minutes a
day.
 Don’t exercise right
before bed though.
 Don’t read anything
suspenseful or
action-packed
before bed.
 You may not want to
go to bed.

Final presentation on sleep deprivation

  • 2.  Humans are the only mammals that willingly delay sleep.
  • 3.  Simple decisions stump you.  You’re still hungry even after eating.  You keep getting sick.  You’re a bit more emotional than normal.  You’ve become more of a klutz.
  • 4.  Stroke  Cancer  Diabetes  Obesity  And many other consequences  Women are more susceptible to cardiovascular and psychological problems.
  • 5.  Sleep in complete darkness, or close to it.  Keep temperature no higher than 70 degrees Fahrenheit.  Avoid using loud alarm clocks.  It’s not good for your body to be jolted awake.
  • 6.  Go to bed at the same time every night.  Have a bed time routine.  Take a shower or bath before going to bed.  Get the right amount of sleep for you.  See infographic.
  • 7.  Avoid caffeine.  Avoid alcohol.  Exercise regularly for 30 minutes a day.  Don’t exercise right before bed though.  Don’t read anything suspenseful or action-packed before bed.  You may not want to go to bed.
