Riccardo's favorite reading strategy is visualizing, which he found helpful when having to draw a picture from a description in class. Over time, he realized drawing things helped him better remember details from earlier in the book. While reading this book, Riccardo did not use the clarifying strategy of looking words up, asking teachers questions, or discussing problems in class much, and thinks using this strategy more in the future could make reading even easier.
2. Reading Skills My favorite reading skill is “VISUALIZING”. I used it a lot of times, for example when we drew a picture of Seth’s altar. We read about it in class and I found it really difficult to think about it. Then we had to draw it and it was much easier.
3. How did this strategy changed over time At the start in wasn’t really difficult to understand and remember what was happening in the book, but after sometime I realized that it was really difficult to tell what happened at the start if you were already in the middle of the book and I started to draw things to remember them better. This strategy didn’t work from the start but after sometimes I understood that it was much easier and I started to use it as much as possible. That’s how I read the book with less difficulties then the others: I could remember it well and I had no problems with the language
4. A not-used-strategy In this book I didn’t used that much the “CLARIFY” strategy : Look up in a dictionary Ask to the teacher things you don’t understand Talk about your reading problems in class discussion I think it would be much easier using this strategy next time.
