Lions have several adaptations that help them hunt prey on the savanna, including camouflaged fur to sneak up close and sharp teeth to eat meat. They communicate and mark their territory with roars. Lions are at the top of the savanna food chain, preying on animals like gazelle. However, the lion population is threatened by factors like pollution, human expansion, and over-hunting reducing their habitat in the savanna. Lions live in social groups called prides of approximately 15 lions.
