Alligators are reptiles that have adapted to life in swamps and rivers with scaly skin, webbed feet, and sharp teeth and claws. They have a symbiotic relationship with birds like plovers that eat parasites off their skin. While alligators live in polluted waters with chemicals regularly dumped in, conservation efforts could help by reducing chemical runoff. Adult male alligators can grow over 11 feet long and weigh up to 600 pounds, with lifespans of 30-50 years, and Florida has a large alligator population.
Bats are small mammals that can live up to 30 years. They have wings and weigh around 2.3 pounds, using echolocation and their wings to hunt insects and other small animals. Bats face many environmental threats as their grassland, woodland, and rainforest habitats are destroyed by activities like wind turbines and pesticide use. This is problematic as bats eat large numbers of mosquitos and other insects and their disappearance could lead to increases in pest populations.
Red pandas live in forests in the Himalayan Mountains across Nepal, India, Tibet, and parts of China. They consume berries and bamboo and are eaten by leopards, who are themselves prey for lions. Cruise ships take a lot of time, effort and procedures to build, and use newest technologies and materials for safety. The conclusion restates that the presentation covered how these large construction projects are constructed.
By Justin Li, the document discusses extinct animals and the causes of their extinction. Climate change, acid rain, and cosmic radiation can all contribute to extinction. The largest extinct animal was Argentinosaurus, and human activity has increased extinction rates of both animals and plants, with the most recent being the Baiji river dolphin. To help endangered species, their habitats can be restored, protective laws can be created, and they can be protected from predators. Helpful websites on these topics are also provided.
Tenrecs are small mammals found in Madagascar. They live on the forest floor and eat worms, bugs, and sometimes fruits and vegetables. Tenrecs have adapted spines that allow them to curl into a protective ball and communicate, and they are preyed upon by predators like snakes. There are over thirty species of tenrec that live up to four years and have litters of two to four babies.

Ava and sara logan figurative language powerpointmrhaneyrhes
This document discusses figurative language devices metaphors and similes. Metaphors compare two things without using like or as, while similes compare two things using like or as. Both metaphors and similes are not meant to be taken literally but rather help visualize ideas and make words come to life. The document was created by Ava and Sara Logan to explain these concepts.
This document defines and provides examples of similes, metaphors, idioms, and proverbs. Similes use descriptive language to create images in the reader's mind by making comparisons using "like" or "as". Metaphors directly state something is something else to convey meaning literally. Idioms do not mean what they say literally but have figurative meanings. Proverbs are sayings that contain words of wisdom.
