4. Hybrid seed production of cotton
Hybrid seed of cotton is produced by hand emasculation and pollination.
Female and male parental line -4:1 in separate plot at 5 m distance.
Periodical sowing for the male parent at 8 to 10 intervals
Emasculated buds in female parents are bagged and male parents are also
bagged.
Emasculated buds are pollinated next morning and re bagged.

The hybrid seeds a is collected from crossed balls
spacing is increased 150cmx 150cm for female and 100 x 100 cm for male
parent.
Seed rate is decreased 4 kg/ha for female and 2.5 kg/ha for male
